Your relative must be living in a designated regional area to be eligible as a sponsor.

Do the sponsor and the applicant need to reside in the same State/Territory?

There is no requirement in policy or the regulations that the sponsor and applicant must live in the same regional area, however, the sponsor must continue to meet all the sponsorship requirements that they have agreed to, regardless of where they are each living.”

Hi Sir, I have also the same problem. My first cousin is residing in Melbourne as a PR, and Melbourne is not in the regional area. Is there any chance to claim that 15points from a family sponsorship?

Looks like 3809 is considered regional. You may double check on this website.

    Hello po!
Quick question lang and i am not sure if this question was answered before.
Planning to take 491 family sponsored stream.

Do I need to satisfy the state’s’ eligibility requirement even though meron na akong family sponsor?

Ang iniisip ko kasi, since meron ka ng “Family sponsor” hindi mo na need mag apply at need makakuha ng “State sponsorship approval” please correct me if I am wrong po. Majority kasi ng requirements ng state need at least nag stay na sa australia or may peior exp na etc.

another question is, kelan po hihingin yung proof of residence ng relative ko po. nasa stage palang ako ng pag submit ng EOI sa skillselect.

    Thanks po

491 FS and state sponsored are 2 different applications with different requirements. Stick to the FS requirements if you are applying as a 491 Family sponsored visa. Refer to the website for the detailed documents needed.

Q1.. yes, same as 189 process

Hello.

    Thank you.

Which state are you going to? You have to check the rules for that state in their website. In SA you can use your PH driver's license as long as it's still valid. Pero once it expires, you have to get an SA licence to continue driving here.

Hello, can we use overseas driver's license on 491 visa? I have a non pro DL from the Philippines. Thanks

Which state are you going to? You have to check the rules for that state in their website. In SA you can use your PH driver's license as long as it's still valid. Pero once it expires, you have to get an SA licence to continue driving here.

NSW. Problema ko lang is I have to drive as soon I land so I'm hoping na ok lang.

Based on this page, pwede ka naman magdrive doon using a PH license as long as it's valid. For peace of mind, you can also try e-mailing them to enquire. Note na kahit naman PR pwede magdrive using a PH license when they first arrive. They just have to get a NSW license within a certain period of time.
