Tourist visa

Good day!

Mag ask lang sana ako if anyone from the group had this visit visa refusal. Nag apply po kasi kmi ng panibagong tourist visa sa mother in law after she had visited us last November 2022 upto April 2023. Nung nag apply po kami ulit ng panibagong tourist visa we stated na we plan her to be here in Australia by July 2023 as we need some family support sa pag aalaga sa baby namin. Eto ung naging statement sa visa refusal ng mother in law ko. Thank you very much sa mga sasagot.

I think the explanation was clear naman na it's because your mom indicated that she intends to stay up to 12 months which is not allowed since nagstay na sya ng 5 months during her last visit.

It's stated clear why it was refused. Your mother-in-law's intention to stay in Australia for 12 months + her 5-month stay previously would classify as "de facto residence" using a tourist visa, which isn't allowed:

"De facto residence is considered to be more than 12 months in an 18-month period."

I think red flag sa kanila yan since the impression is you are intending to use a tourist visa for other reasons, since sunod-sunod yung long-term stay.

Commonly, it's 3 months. But DOHA can grant you for up to 12 months of stay using SC600: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/visitor-600 So it depends on the application.
