Just had a meeting today with the NSW Director of Migration to discuss about NSW plans for this migration year. A few points to share:

• no occupation list this year but will have target sectors they will concentrate on (similar to Victoria)
• target sector focused on healthcare and education, particularly secondary school teacher as well as infrastructure
• they will prioritise high points regardless if onshore or offshore
• they want a decision ready state nomination application, so make sure you are submitting nomination applications with complete documents.

Palagay ko po Construction related, so Engineers (CE/ME/EE), Quantity Surveyors, Acrhitectural Draftsman, Estimators, Project Managers etc.

Infrastructure are government projects which encompasses a broad range of skilled occupations - from design, engineering , procurement ,construction ,administration to project management ,to maintenance of facilities etc. very general sya 😂

🙏hoping they will still put up a skill list unlike VIC na generalise to all occupations in DOHA’s eligible occupations but will focus on broad sectors

All along my experiences are in the infrastructure industry consists of heavy civil projects , hope that will help against the very selective criteria . Let’s stay positive!

Correct me if im wrong nomination the onus is with the state while approval of visa is with the DOHA. Both has the power in the application , pwede iwithdraw ng state ang nomination before granting , refusal naman or approval sa federal side.

Same thoughts. Mas marami ung grants recently sa VIC compared sa NSW. Pede ba ihold ng NSW yung mga waiting for grants na if nasa DHA na yung application natin?

States are also waiting for their nominated migrants to get approval as much as the applicant would do, to help with the workload and contribute to the economic activity ,pay taxes and help boom their economy. Is counter intuitive to hold them for other reasons that will create scarcity unless there is a looming economic slowdown or recession in the state ,hindi pa rin eh.

Current system is overloaded, no enough people to process the backlog ,still reviewing to overhaul the system , decided to hold everything and take it easy and find and pick theirselves up and find whats their true calling 😆

From the report here ,the projected demand for infra skills alam mo na ano yung shortage na need nila punan ,for example September 2024 under NSW CE professionals are short in supply by 3.7K , kahit ilan pa invite nila this year short pa din tlg sila haha

For the purpose of NSW nomination, may only claim skilled employment from:

1. Skills Assessor's Date: The date your skills assessor officially recognises you as skilled, provided this date is explicitly stated on your skills assessment.

2. Qualifying Study Completion Date: If your skills assessor does not specify this date, you may only claim skilled employment from the date you completed your qualifying study.

If you've claimed employment in your EOI prior to meeting the above criteria, you are not eligible to accept an invitation to apply for NSW nomination.

ACS assesses the highest achieved educational qualification right?

Does this mean that if you got a Master's Degree 10 years apart from your Bachelor's, both taken from a Section 1 school, and ACS recognized the Master's in the skills assessment results,

Then all the work experience you gained in between those 10 years will NOT be counted for NSW?
Basically, start from 0 work experience if you just recently got a Master's degree now?

"If you've claimed employment in your EOI prior to meeting the above criteria, you are not eligible to accept an invitation to apply for NSW nomination" that means yung work experience before nakagraduate lets say May 2015, tas you keyed-in sa EOI under employment history from 02/2014-03/2015, disqualified na po for invitation. tama po ba?
