ACS deducted 4 years of exp, should I appeal?

Hello,

Got a positive outcome from ACS but they did deduct 4 years of experience. May former colleague ako na same school at degree kami pero 2 years lang binawas sakanya. 10 points na nga lang work ko tapos naging 5 pa dahil sa 4 years deduction. Any advise? Should I appeal?

The 4-year deduction might be some of your duties and responsibilities not being aligned with your uni curriculum / anzsco code? Same work/role ba kayo ng former colleague mo? Also, certifications/trainings matter. Usually ACS deducts 2 years since hindi ka pa naman considered 'skilled' during your first 2 years of work.

I-submit mo nalang agad EOI mo using that result. Pwede ka pa naman mag increase ng points by taking NAATI and/or Highest PTE while waiting for an invite. ACS re-appeal is $420 din.

I thought vendor certifications and trainings are not assessed? Nabasa ko kasi sa RPL lang yun?

ACS deemed my skills as unsuitable since on their end, the documents were incomplete. Inemail and follow up ko lang everyday, nagrreply naman din sila. Nagsubmit din ako ng certifications sa ACS, not sure if inassess nila. Ask them why, dapat iexplain nila. Also, baka sa pagka-state ng duties and responsibilties sa Employment letter mo din. Who was your assessor?

Hindi talaga pwede, sayang ang effort at binayad ko. Nung unang week, panay "we'll forward this to the assessor and let you know" lang reply sakin. Tapos nag change ng helpdesk pa. Doon na ko nangulit talaga everyday and sinabi ko why it was important to expedite this at ano namiss kong opportunity. 😅

Elizabeth Gregg yung name na nakalagay sa assessor. Currently nag email muna ko sakanila asking why 4 years deduction. Tignan ko muna explanation nila bago ako mag appeal.

Mukhang hindi si Elizabeth Gregg, since CEO yata sya and signatory sya for all. The assessor's name was the email id used to send you the results.
Tama yan, itanong mo muna yung reason sa kanila. Kulitin mo sayang din 5points. Wala ka naman kulang na payment evidence etc?

eto yung nag email sakin "Nanda Skills nanda.skills@acs.org.au"

kumpleto lahat ng docs ko, tsaka napansin ko sa iba, kapag kulang evidence, nakalagay sa gilid parang not assessible due to insufficient docs or nilalagay nilagay if not related sa anzsco code. kaya nagtataka ako wala naman mga ganun sakin..

Same situation po ako kay lyrre. Ask ko po pwede na po ba ako mag submit ng EOI/ROI kahit wala pa ko english test?

You need to provide valid evidences to support your claims at the time you submit an EOI /ROI , minimum is you have already a Skills Assessment and English test results with you as they will ask your Skills Assessment letter and english test results to be keyed in.

Got a reply from ACS, sabi sakin since ang qualification ko daw ay comparable to bachelor's degree major in computing, hindi daw closely related sa nominated occupation ko which is 263111 Computer Networks and System Engineer. Eh 2 of my former colleagues same qualification, major in computing pero 2 years lang bawas..

Ask them kung anong most suitable anzsco na pwede mo ipa-assess? Nagssuggest naman sila. Baka ibang assessor din naka assign sa former colleagues mo before.

Depende talaga yan sa assessing officer and sa roles & responsibilities indicated in your reference letters. Medyo hindi nga closely related ang BSIT sa nominated anzsco mo. Pero depende din sa curriculum eh, kung tiningnan talaga ng AO.

Mag submit ka na ng eoi kung may english test ka na. Sayang time. Work on reappeal while waiting for invite, then update eoi kapag may changes na sa employment score.

kung close mo yung colleagues mo, tignan mo nasa reference letters nila at kung ano mga pinasa nila. yun lang naman basis ng mga CO eh

Same yung nominated occupation nila as yours? If so, weird nga na magkaiba yung deducted years. Unless magkaiba yung work nyo after graduating? Possibly naconsider din yun.

yup naka EOI and ROI na ko...

Roles and responsibilities are same lang since magkaka team kami before... yung isa kong former colleague BSIT same school kami...and if issue is yung roles and responsibilities, hindi ba dapat sinabi ng officer yun? weird lang kasi ang reason niya is yung qualification ko...

nag consult ako sa respall, pwede daw i-claim yung deducted experience ko...and sabi nila sakin since positive naman daw assessment, no need to appeal na daw.. as of now, nagclaim na ko nung dineduct na exp sakin... i did my research naman so confident ako, siguro gusto ko lang manigurado at kung sakaling mabago pa yung result ng ACS sakin atleast sure na sure hehe

same kami ng school, course, work, company, team, so it's really weird...talagang nasa case officer na...may nakita ako sa isang fb group, same case kami na 4 years deduction kahit na closely related naman... nag avail siya nung APP Assist sa ACS... yung nakausap niya na officer sabi sakanya na may mali daw sa pagkaka assess sakanya at after a few weeks, pinadalhan siya ng bagong result... pero may bayad lang kasi 195 aud..

Just be careful na hnd ka mag overclaim ng points.
Nag pa re-assess dn ako ng akin nun citing ung mga subjects ko nung college at ung responsibilities ko s work na kaparehas nmn ng nsa anzco ko. Nung time ko, kapag nagpareassess ka at tlgng binago ung result, irerefund nla ung fee.ayun narefund ko nmn ung s kin.i think theres no harm in trying magpareassess.
