Ah dipende kasi kung saan lugar ka anyway dont worry kapag nag apply ka naman may Temporary Medicare Number kana agad. Yung papel na binigay sayo check mo nandun yung Medicare Account number mo. Kaya kung magpapa check up ka pakita mo lang yun. Para maka libre ka hanap ka ng bulk billing na Doctor or GP (general Practitioner).

Anu yan health history ng baby mo. Kung hindi mo makita puntahan mo ang hospital or clinic kung saan mo regular pinapa check up ang anak mo. Gawa ka ng formal request letter for health history copy at ipadala ng personal sa registration office ng hospital or clinic or puede din sa pedia Doctor ng baby mo at sya ang mag rerequest ng health hisotry ng baby mo. Importante na mayrun ka na health record ng baby mo hahanapin din kasi yan pag nandito na kayo. Cheers

@JCsantos I took certification from LTO main office in quezon city last jan 2014. you need to pay p100 lang. then they will give you date when to claim it at DFA-aseana in roxas blvd. about 2weeks. yung binigay nilang date mag adjust ka at least 2-3days after ng date na yun base on my experience. you then pay P100 again for the red ribbon. s LTO mga less than an hour lang pag maaga ka. sa DFA naman mga 3-4 hours yun sa haba ng pila. I went there at 10am and I finished almost 2pm na.

@TasBurrfoot, thanks po, ibig sabihin sir pwede na ako ngayon pa lang mag-apply online ng TRN kahit wala pa ako sa Australia, meron kasi ako address and telephone ng friend ko na ginagamit ko rin sa pag-apply ng work :-).

Separate TRN application for me and wife? So bottomline po, Medicare lang talaga dapat iwalk-in pag dating sa Oz? Pero pwede ko na ifill-up yung paper form ngayun pa lang para pag punta namin ko dun submission na lang along with other documents, one form lang po for the whole family kasi may Person 1 to 4 naman dun meaning 1 card lang kami?

@btarroja213 and @ruelcortez_BH; kailangan mo onshore before you can apply for TFN - the ATO website will be looking for your passport ata and this is connected to immigration records. If you are still not in Australia when you tried to apply online, you will be error message of some sort.

You guys can do this online first thing upon arrival in Australia.

Quick question to the old-timers in Oz. Do I need to register for Centrelink if I already have Medicare Card? I have come to Sydney with only my partner (no kids, not married, de facto, gay partners).

Are there any Centrelink services that are essential to us in the long run that we need to apply for now or this can wait in case we get into a situation or status where Centrelink may be of use (if we adopt kids, etc.)?

Medicare and Centrelink is 2 different entities Therefore you need to register to both

From you situation It's totally up to you, but I guess it would not hurt if you register

@Shirlie, I applied for a TFN here in Perth Monday morning. And paguwi ko ng Thursday afternoon nasa mailbox na yun letter from ATO with my TFN number.

From what I know you cannot because you need to show your Key card ( ATM card ) as one of the requirements , not unless you can provide a 100 ID points

we did. we opened it 3 months before we settled in. you can open it anytime, basta within a year ay nasa Aust ka na to activate it. you may only do deposits and cannot do online transfers hangga't hindi pa siya activated.

Thanks. Nag mail ba sila sa Australia address kahit wala ka pa transactions? Or you need to make a wire transfer first?

^nope. Overseas address and phone numbers pa kasi ang provided namin sa kanila kasi wala pa naman kami sa Aust noon. Nag-open muna kami ng account bago nag-wire transfer.

A few days after we arrived here, nagpunta na lang kami sa stated branch (brought our passports with us) to activate the account. saka namin pinabago ang mailing address and phone numbers.
