@TTam Paano mag open sa NAB ng wala pang TFN? Requirement kasi bago makapag open ng account. Pwede ba kumuha ng TFN kahit di pa nakakapag initial entry?

@Liolaeus Punta lang po kayo sa NAB website (under migrant banking), may special scheme for New Immigrant po. Meron din po sa Westpac and ANZ.. Ok lang po kahit wala pang TFN.

Ang pagkakaalala ko 1 year ang validity nung account, dapat on or before 1 yr na naopen nyo yung bank account ay makapagland kayo sa oz to meet with the Migrant Banker.

Ang TFN po, ang pagkakaalam ko dapat nasa oz ka na bago ka makakuha nun.

Hi,

Meron po ba nakasubok na dito magtransfer ng money from DBS Singapore to Commonwealth Bank of Australia? Sa online banking kasi ni DBS, andaming option ng swift code. According to Comm Bank website, we should use CTBAAU2S but we are seeing a lot of this as option sa DBS Online banking with different suffixes like CTBAAU2S600,CTBAAU2S700,CTBAAU2SXXX. We're not sure which one to choose. We already sent email to Comm Bank pero wala pa din sila reply. Any inputs po sa mga nakapagtry na?

@filipinacpa Wala po anuman. Nasa pinas po ba kayo? If yes, you can check your bank if magkano po ang service charge nila. May iba po kasing bank na nagccharge based on the amount you transfer, meron naman po yatang iba na fixed.

If kailangan namin ng "physical" cash, nagpapalit po kami sa czarina money changer sa makati. You just need to call them para makapagpareserve or to inquire if meron silang AUD.

Pero most of the time, online foreign exchange po ang gamit namin. Hassle free po kasi at mababantayan mo pa ang galaw ng exchange rates.

May I ask which bank in the Philippines was yours and how much was the service charge that you incurred?

Another question, as I am researching this topic as well, I was wondering why there is still a local bank service charge? I thought the steps were:
1. Peso money was paid from bank to HiFx to buy Aud
2. HiFx transfers the Aud to Nab
Was the local fee due to sending the money to HiFx?

Laslty, NAB did not charge any additional fees when it received the Aud?

We just brought $250 as pocket money - all the rest were in the CBA account that we opened months before.

Of course meron din kami dala BPI atm just in case plus the still open Singapore Credit Cards then.

No - prior to moving in, we remitted it via our bank in Singapore...

The iRemit approach was for our condo sales proceeds - yes I did enrol iRemit's BPI account in my expressonline; I transfer money to iRemit and then they bought AUD for me and transferred it to my Australian bank account.

There is a charge in the Australian bank to receive cash but it was very small $10 ata for a condo proceed in AUD.

Just to clarify when you say "...I did enrol iRemit's BPI account in my expressonline; I transfer money to iRemit ...", do you mean using BPI expressonline and using the "Pay Bills" functionality, wherein you select the enrolled iRemit account and specify the amount in Pesos that will be used to purchase the AUD?

I checked today if I can enroll iRemit in the Pay Bills but the company iRemit is not in the list of allowed to be enrolled. I just wanted to clarify if you used the Pay Bills or the Transfer Fund in expressonline?

2. Then click the link " opening your bank account "
3. Fill out the form

Please note, I have NOT done this yet myself, but this is the approach that I plan to use. As others mentioned in this thread, CBA and Westpac also have migrant banking, pero ndi ko pa nabasa un 2 banks na iyon.

@se29m mukhang marami kang sgd na itatransfer sa NAB kaya nagopen ka na pare. ask ko lang kung pwede na ba magopen ng account kahit hindi pa granted ang migrant visa?

@engineer20 wala naman required amount hehehe.. Nag apply pa lang ako.. Tas intayin ko sila na contact ako para makapagstart na ng isaver.. Wala pa nga pambaon eh hahaha... Para lang may maitabi ako the next 2 months ng hindi magagalaw..

I already got my welcome kit sa NAB kaso malayo pala yung branch na napili ko. 45 mins away. nakahanap ako lately lang ng nearest branch like 15 mins away sa titirahan ko so i requested them if they could move my branch where i could go to activate my account.

Another issue ko is transferring funds from PH bank to AU bank. How did you guys do it po? I inquired sa BDO but they said I need to have a dollar account with them to do so.

Opened a migrant account yesterday, chose the option with iSaver. So far i only received an email confirming my submission (no sms yet, i assume since it says its the last step, i will get an sms a bit later on?)

@filipinacpa and @vamdcpa what is inside the welcome kit, is it a physical mail that you received here in Manila?
