Hello everyone, I'm confused if my degree and experience can qualify for ACS Assessment. May nakita kasi ako dun sa Skill Occupation List about Computer Technician. However, may nakita din akong Secondary School Teacher and in-charge for that is AITSL.

Undergrad: BS in Industrial Technology major in Computer Technology
    Additional: Teacher Certificate Program

Experience: 2 years as Computer Technician
Experience: 8 years as ICT Teacher (all related to computer technology)

oh, I don't know if employment reference letter exists in the PH, anyone na from ACN, baka meron sa inyong may reference letter?

I worked for ACN and hindi talaga sila nagbibigay ng Employment Reference letter. But they issued me a letter stating they do not release one for confidentiality reason. Well this was year 2021 pa, baka nag-iba na. Hence, I used stat dec.

currently working with ACN, kakakuha ko lng ng Certificate of Explanation from them,

heto din yung meron ako, plus COE. yung Certificate of Explanation, dun nila nilagay na di sila nagpoprovide ng roles and responsibilities dahil confidential daw blah blah blah.

Au-based employee here. Di din nila alam anong certificate of employment. Employment reference is widely known talaga dito. Given na Filo HR namin, I had to explain pa anong dapat meron sa employment reference kase usual is COE talaga sa Pinas.
Sa employment reference ko, stated don number of hours, employment period, job title, roles & responsibilities, company letter head, take note walang salary disclosure. Pirma galing sa reporting manager ko. Ang salary is nasa contract lang talaga. While COE sa Pinas, minsan meron roles and responsibilities, minsan wala esp ACN (lol) company letterhead kadalasan pirma ng HR not reporting manager or direct supervisor. Recently lang daw, si ACN nag pprovide na daw ng employment reference and employed dapat si reporting manager kase siya magppirma and inform lang daw na need for skilled migration or assessment, etc.. ang nakuha ko is certificate of non-disclosure of roles and responsibilities then COE kase nga ayaw mag disclose ni ACN way back 2020/2021 yata. Recent lang daw yan inimplement.

Hi guys, just wanted to share my journey. 5yrs ago I had an assessment for Software QA then this year (feb 3, 2023) I submitted an assessment for 261313 (Software Engineer). However, on March 30 they sent an email asking for my ID’s to which I sent on the same day cause I was having some problems on my account. Can’t attach any docs po, wala po ako nung upload button s profile ko. My profile was problematic, I can’t update my surname and other details cause I got married and have a new passport n po after 5 yrs so I emailed ACS to update my profile. May 23rd, got the worst result saying na insufficient po ang evidence ko for my education and same po sa 1st company ko although I gave all the needed docs. On the same day, I applied for a review for the same anzcode and ang dinagdag k lng pong docs s 1st company ko is Pag-ibig on top po ng existing docs ko which are sss contributions and few of my payslips. July 3rd, they refunded my payment for the review. Then, this Aug 7 I received the best result, my education was assessed as bachelor’s degree and my experience on my 1st company was accepted n this time.

Hi Jar, salamat. actually napirmahan naman ng manager ko na (kasi barkada ko yung manager ko dati). pero parang ang tema kasi ng 2.8, as long as manager or colleague, need parin ipanotarize. tama ba? i thought kasi nung una counted na sya as authorized person.

nung pinasa mo, nilagyan mo parin ng letterhead ng company, tapos signed by the manager and notarized. so bale isang form nalang lahat? may iba kasi ako nakita nagpasa ng RnR lang, then another attachment is affidavit naman tapos stated din yung roles etc.

Hi. help naman po. if my manager was the one who signed the Roles and Responsibilities, do I still need to do statement of declaration? so in shore papanotarize ko lang here as Philippines? yung iba kasing nakita ko separate affidavit pa. so pwede bang young RnR ko nalang yung papanotarize ko with the format na suggested in section 2.8?

I assume na yung company mo can't provide Employment Reference..kaya ka mag Statutory Declaration/Affidavit..sa case ko since nasa ibang bansa yung reporting manager ko ginawa ko nagprepare ako ng Affidavit hindi lng yung roles and responsibilities yung content kundi lahat ng required sa section2.8 yun ang nandun sa Affidavit.

sinend ko sa kanya naka pdf file for signature..then binalik niya sakin saka ko pinanotarise dito sa PH. hiningan ko din siya ng COE and ID (required kc sa notaryo sa experience ko)..

Kung may company letterhead, no need na ipanotaryo. Pinapanotaryo kapag galing sa manager o colleague and hindi sya official document from the company.

Kung di ka na dadaan sa HR, might as well just do statdec then notarize.

Letter from HR or manager on letterhead is acceptable. You only use stat dec when the signatory is no longer working in the company.

It’s because likely you asked for a Coe. You need to ask for en employment reference letter. Google what these two are, you’ll see the difference. There’s no need to do a stat dec just to add those tasks in the letter. A simple letter from HR or manager will work. That’s what we do to All the cases we handle.

oh, I don't know if employment reference letter exists in the PH, anyone na from ACN, baka meron sa inyong may reference letter?

Employment reference and COE are universal/generic terms used in any country. All our Filipino clients are able to provide such documents. COE is COE whichever country you go and same with employment reference letter. If a company, out of policy forbids superiors from writing a reference letter on the company letterhead, then a stat dec must then be done. We find such circumstance a lot for all our clients who work in Accenture in Philippines. If you refer to the guideline, ACS there were instances where they referred to employment reference and to employment certificate. Clearly there is a difference between the two, this can be verified by simply googling CoE vs employment reference letter.

I was referring to the post about

Kung di ka na dadaan sa HR, might as well just do statdec then notarize.

Managers and even colleagues (not junior to the applicant) can also provide employment reference letters on letterhead. Stat decs are usually used if signatory is no longer working in that company or there is a company policy wherein they can’t provide an employment reference letter on letterhead - the latter one only happens to clients based in Philippines which I find it odd. In other countries it is illegal to refuse such request.

ACS has done it again and again…if I was your agent I would have not let you file an appeal nor even review. I will insist they correct the outcome because this was an error their end. I just had a case yesterday where they turned around an RPL recommendation for an applicant, now my client. The client was ready to submit his RPL and I told him to hold off until ACS gets back to me. As I was pretty surethey will correct it and they did. Poor client, had to go through unnecessary stress…

I beg to differ, though, specifically the part above on employment reference.

As many of us mentioned, evidently not everywhere the term "employment reference" is known. There is a need to explain it to the person we are requesting it from.

Based on the web, CoE seems to be universally coming from the HR of a company. Simple format stating that one is employed by a company. While employment reference may come from someone higher in the ladder to write about the one requesting it that generally describes the responsibilities carried out and other pertinent details about the employment. More like character reference or recommendation nga sya.

But anyway, as I previously mentioned, mahalaga naman e makuha yung content na required ng ACS. Yun talaga yun. :D

That’s correct, the important part is the content should be as per ACS.

I believe that’s what I’ve been saying all along in this discussion. That the employment reference letter doesn’t have to come from HR, it will also work from manager/colleague. No need for stat dec. COE follows a format but employment reference doesn’t. It contains the content of the COE plus anything about the employment, it could contain character reference, recommendation but definitely should have the job description in it. Hence the reason why ACS guidelines specified what exactly should be in it. It doesn’t ask for an employment certificate but used the terminology employment reference for that reason. Yes of course, one needs to explain what exactly should be on the employment reference letter given that as mentioned above there is no specific format for this. The problem arises when one uses the terminology COE when actually it’s the employment reference letter that they need. That’s when HR would usually say the company has a standard format to it because it does but a reference letter doesn’t. As a result, the employee would then be surprised that he’s been told there is a format for the COE when actually he’s referring to a reference letter - will automatically think it’s a road block when actually it’s just the terminology used that got misinterpreted.

It’s this simple…when one is asked for COE the first thing that comes to mind is to confirm that the person is employed in that company by stating the dates and job title…but if one is asked for an employment reference letter, first question that comes into mind is what do you want me to put in there - because there is no format to it. One knows what it is but needs to be told what it’s for and what should be on it.

The tip is, one can spare himself from further explaining and inconveniencing the referrer by creating a draft of the letter and explaining that such needs to be in the letter when handing it over for signature. Makes both of their lives easier - referee doesn’t need to further explain and referrer doesn’t have to spend much time thinking what to say, just have to read it and if he agrees would then sign it. Job done 😉

Well this was year 2021 pa, baka nag-iba na. Hence, I used stat dec.

Sa employment reference ko, stated don number of hours, employment period, job title, roles & responsibilities, company letter head, take note walang salary disclosure. The first document doesn’t seem to be a certificate of employment but a clearance certificate, hence the reason I mentioned Accenture format has changed since. Anyway, as mentioned this was way 2017 and might mislead others who are on DIY.

Ah stat dec nga ata yun second doco, template provided by agency so customisable. with notary, role, hours of work per week. I remember I tweaked my roles and responsibilities to align with my anzco, it helped sa assessment.

Job done 😉

The "tip" part though, sana ganon lang rin kadali hahaha!

It isn't that easy to convince let alone share with their current manager or colleague that one is pursuing to migrate. Dun na pumapasok yung diskusyon when it comes to the contents of the letter. Or worse and even more hassle, resorting to stat dec kung tulad ng Accenture ang company na hindi nagrerelease ng "comprehensive" CoE with job duties.

DIY all the way. Avoid preachy, know-it-all, and unscrupulous agents AT ALL COSTS!

To be honest, our clients provide us letters more from their managers rather than from HR. There’s really no convincing needed nor the need to disclose the real reason why they’re asking for such letter. I’m speaking for the x amount of cases we’ve handled from Philippines. The biggest challenge most clients encounter I find is chasing managers from many years ago or when companies have shut down. We rarely get notified by clients that managers refuse to sign or they struggle to “convince” managers because like I mentioned convincing is really unnecessary. I think maybe it has more to do with how we guide our clients and how we work together towards presenting their employers a letter for them to sign (once they agree everything in it is true and correct). Perhaps they are more confident with the draft letter they present to their superiors that they don’t need to do further explanations. Whatever it is, I’m definitely certain we’ve not encountered much issues similar to what was brought up in this discussion. Hence I’m sharing this tip as it might help DIY’s as this has always worked for my clients and could be helpful for others.

Hello ladies and gents, glad to be here. It is my first time to post. Please bear with me. I wanted to apply for the 189, 190 and 491 visa but i am stuck with my employment reference letter. My company (in Saudi Arabia) doesn't seem to have one. I would like to ask if anyone can share a sample of their reference letter or template as guide for ua in creating one. Also, i would like to ask who will sign the reference leter, should it be the Head of IT or the Head of HR. Thank you.

Hi! Backread ka lang ng kaunti sa thread na 'to mismo or search "Statutory Declaration" may makikita kang guide about pagproduce ng Stat Dec ~ kelangan supervisor (and up) mo yung mag attest.

If your Employment Reference letter will be coming from your company, kahit sinong legally authorized mag sign dyan ~ Authorized HR Rep, or IT Head (if needed), or both.

As long as you compile the payment evidences per employment episode it should be okay. Some of my ITRs are digitally signed, umokay naman.

Via email. The assessor will send you an email. Nung time ko, I didn't bother to check the ACS dashboard regularly kasi laging 'with assessor" lang din naman. 😅

:) Thank you po. :)

Via email. The assessor will send you an email. Nung time ko, I didn't bother to check the ACS dashboard regularly kasi laging 'with assessor" lang din naman. 😅

Noted po, thank you very much :) <3
