Sir/mam, ask lang po, ano po gamit nyo na voice app recognition? Yung speechnote kasi, most of the time it buffers, i cant record po a whole paragraph, usually one liner sentence lang, kapag kasi mahaba the tendency is, some of the words are not captured.

Hello,

Just want to share some tips on my journey to reach the superior score. A quick background, I REALLY hate English ever since. Since high-school, college, kahit nag ttrabaho ako. I can communicate naman (in meetings, visitors, conferences, etc), pero I hate thinking or exams related to English, like kelangan mo sundin yung Subject-verb-object agreement, mga ganyan at atbp. At ngayon, si English naman ang umayaw sakin. Hahahaha medyo malalim din ako magtagalog. So ang ginawa ko, during my first take, ang preparation ko is to straighten my tongue. Keep speaking in a continuous pace, tuloy tuloy. So ang training ko noon dito is to rap “The way you lie” by Eminem, at siguraduhin ko na naiintindihan ni google.  And got the proficient scores on my first take. Nag try pa ng isa nung January, pero di pinalad. After nun, nag pahinga ako and focus on wedding preps. At nag start ang road to Superior last June. Eto tips and advices ko sa iba na target kumuha for the first time at sa mga nag e-aim ng Superior scores din.

Speaking

Read Aloud
Dami nag tatanong sakin dahil consistent ang scores ko sa speaking. Sa dami ng take ko, isa lang ang consistent sa akin, mabilis ako mag salita. Yes, speed is the key. I normally finish the passage on half bar, minsan wala pa nga sa kalahati tapos na ako. While reading, I point my finger sa screen and follow kung ano binabasa ko. Check the news, movies, at iba pang English countries, dapat ganun din ang pace natin pag nagbabasa o nag sasalita. Hindi natin binabasa to, para maintindihan ng bata, tinetest tayo dito for Oral fluency, Pronunciation. Malaki impact nito sa reading at speaking scores. Focus kayo dito. As for practice naman, di naman masakit sa oras natin ang magbasa ng isang passage araw araw, 2 mins lang to. Nag babasa ako ng articles from sciencedaily, kase that’s what interest me. Make sure to find your interest. A simple tip dito sa read aloud, is to smile and be positive while reading. Speak confidently. 
Wag mag ummm, ahhhh.
No false start.
Avoid stuttering, kung nag stutter man kayo, move on. Wag mo na ulitin.

Repeat Sentence
Lage ako namo-moblema dito. Hirap ako dito. Lage 5 out of 10 nakukuha ko dito. Tried other techniques, like writing the first letter of the word. Pero hirap pa din ako dito. The best for me is to practice, dami sa youtube nito. Hanap kayo ng best way nyo to remember kung ano yung sentence. Try to understand din, it will help you remember it. Gayahin nyo yung way kung pano sinabi, yung pag stress ng words, at pauses. Try your best to remember at least 50% of the words, it will give you 2 points. Again:
Wag mag ummm, ahhhh.
No false start.
Avoid stuttering, kung nag stutter man kayo, move on. Wag mo na ulitin.

I use a template dito, simula nung unang take pa lang. eto template ko.

Pero kung bago pa lang kayo nag sisimula mag review or mag practice ng template. I suggest you use @batman ‘s template.

Mas maganda sya, it contains important collocations at mas maganda ang pag deliver. Tinry ko praktisin yang bago, kaso mas nasapuso ko na yung luma, at mas nagugulo pag deliver ko, kase lumalabas sa pag deliver ko yung lumang template.
IMPORTANT: ISAPUSO nyo ang template, dapat maging komportable kayo sa kanya, kahit anong lumabas. Kaya nyo isingit ang details sa template. Template contributes to OF, and Pronunciation. So kahit konti lang masabi nyo na details sa image, punong puno kayo ng fillers para mabawi yung OF at pronunciation. Pacing is the same, speed is the key. Wag nyo hayaan mag suffer ang OF at PRON dahil gusto nyo mag labas ng content from the image.

Pano pag picture lang o process ang image na lumabas? – kaya sinabi ko na isapuso nyo ang template para kaya nyo mag improv. eto ang mga sample ng nangyayari sa kin:

Makinig ng maige. Write down the topic. Write as many as you can. Mahina ako sa pag-sulat, pero yun lang ang only way para sakin, para makapag retell. Use ‘also’, ‘in addition’, ‘moreover’ atbp para sa structure ng pag re-tell ng lecture.

Pero what if, hindi ka pamilyar sa topic, at konti lang tlga nasulat mo. Don’t lose hope, kaya nadyan ang template, para mabawi ang OF at PRON. Keep moving forward. Also remember, you only have 10 secs to prepare before the recording starts.

Kung may image sa lecture, utilize nyo.  Kung konti naman nasulat nyo, ganto example ko.

Focus lang, understand the question. Normally naman pipili ka dun sa sasabihin nya. Wag kayong pipikit dito, dahil yung ibang question is may image na basehan. Yung ibang take ko nakapikit ako, di ko lam yung sinasabi, pag mulat ko may image pala. Heheh Straight forward lang to, practice sa youtube. Matic 10pts sa inyo to for Speaking and Listening.

Sorry, medyo hirap ako dito sa module na to. Straight forward kase ako mag isip o mag salita. Kung yes or no lang ang tanong, dun lang ako, di na ako mag eexplain. Kaya hirap ako mag construct ng mga sentences.

Summarize written text
Use e2language structure.
What happened? -> importante to na maintindihan nyo yung passage
Who did what?
Who did what, which did what?
Who did what that did what?
Who did what when who did what?
Who did what and did what.

Kalaban nyo time dito, 10mins lang to. Make sure to start with a capital letter, and end with a full stop (period). Normally inaabot lang ako dito ng mga 30-40words. Kung mabilis nyo natapos, utilize nyo yung time, proof reading atbp.

Write Essay
I used Steven Fernandez template, but following e2language essay structure. Mas okay yan. Masasayang kase oras nyo kakaisip ng paraan para maisingit lang yung word sa template, kaya importante yung essay structure ng e2language.

These days, there is an ongoing debate between people about _____. While it is possible to claim that _____, my view is that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. In this essay, I shall explain my point of view by analysing both sides of the argument.

There are several reasons why _____. One of them is that _____. It can also be argued that _____. It should also be taken into account that ____.

Those who argued for ____ have a different view and say that it can actually be a good thing. Firstly, it is claimed that _____. Then, there are concerns about ____.

While there are strong argument on both side of the case, my personal opinion is that _______. I would strongly recommend that ______.

Manage your time wisely. Para sakin ideal length is 240-260 words.

Reading
Time pressure ang kalaban dito, manage your time wisely. Nag ssacrifice ako dito ng ibang items, lalo na sa multiple choice, since di naman ganun kalake impact sa scoring. Yun eh pag alam kong kakapusin ako sa oras.

“Reading and writing: Fill in the blanks” and “Reading: Fill in the blanks”
The best way dito is to keep reading and reading, kahit random lang na nagging interesado kayo sa isang bagay. Importante dito yung word collocations. Madami yung mga collocations na yun, buti na lang may gumawa ng youtue video about dun. Hayaan nyo lang mag play kahit saan, importante marinig nyo at maadapt nyo. Di nyo need memorize lahat ng collocations.
Kahit anong mangyari, intindihin nyo yung passage.

Re-order paragraphs
Important dito yung subject-verb-object agreement. Find the independent sentence, yung can stand on its own. Practice kayo sa lafoya site. And youtube videos. Basta nakukuha nyo yung unang sentence, makukuha nyo na yung flow nya. Create imagery sa utak mo kung anong nangyayari habang inaayos mo yung mga sentences. Parang kung eto ba nilgay ko next dito is maganda ba ng flow.

Multiple choices
Dun sa multiple answers, lage dalawa lang pinilipi ko. Read the question muna, then hanapin mo yung question dun sa passage to save time. Wag na natin gawing komplikado na basahin pa yung buong passage, kase mauubos ang oras. Maging straight forward lang tayo, example, What is done after 1990?. Hanapin mo yung after 1990, then dun ka lang magbasa, at browse the answer. Kung ang tanong naman is ano ang gusto iparating ng passage, read the answer muna ako, then hanapin sa passage. Pero syemre, importante pa din na naiintindihan ntin yung passage as much as possible.

Listening
Isa to sa struggle ko, itong last take na to. Dito ko lang nasuperior itong part na to. Since naka-ilang take na ako, na akala ko okay yung listening ko, pero hindi parin. Nag focus ako on improving other sections na nag-ccontribute sa Listening scores, like re-tell at repeat. After summarize spoken text, isang time na lang yung remaining items for listening (31-40 mins ata)

Summarize spoken text
I use dito yung e2language structure.

The speaker was discussing (TOPIC)
Firstly, S/He talked about (keyword 1)
S/He then mentioned (keyword 2)
In addition, S/He discussed (keyword 3)
S/He described (keyword 4)
Finally, S/He discussed that (keyword 5)

Use connectors, tulad nung nasa re-tell lecture ‘also’, ‘in addition’, ‘moreover’ atbp. Yung last sentence use ‘Finally’ or ‘Lastly’. Sa walong take ko, bihira ko gamitin yan, kase pilit kong isulat lahat ng details nung lecture, pero nung take 9 ko, nag sacrifice ako ng ibang content, para mabuo ang structure. Write 50-70 words. 10mins each, utilize nyo, and manage.

Multiple-choice (both single and multiple answers)
Yung iba ang ginagawa dito is nag susulat. Pero ako habang nakikinig, kinocompare ko sa choices. Read the question muna, like ano daw expect during 2nd semester, antayin nyo lang marinig nyo yan at pakinggan kung ano gusto nya mangyari. Sa multiple answer, choose 2 lage ako. Pero kung isa lang tlga nakuha ko, isa lang pinipili ko, base naman ke e2, walang negative mark, kahit isa lang.

Highlight correct summary
Hirap ako dito, kumukonsumo to ng oras. Kaya manage nyo dapat oras nyo. Kung wala pa kayong sagot after 2 mins, sacrifice na, kase WFD ang malake ang impact sa listening + writing pa. Technique ko dito (from my misis), find the topic and conclusion. Effective sya, napadali pag pili ko ng summary. Hehehe dami kase sinasabi dun sa lecture, yung mga unnecessary points, nagigigng main topic ng isang summary sa choices. 

Select missing word
Read the question, meron kayong ilang sekundo para basa mabasa yung tanong. Yun yung chance nyo para malaman yung topic, at malaman dun sa choices kung ano lang ang possible related dun sa topic. Focus to understand, and watch the progress bar para alam nyo kung kelan matatapos.

Highlight incorrect words
Madali lang to, at malake contribute nito sa scores. Both reading and listening. Try to ace this one. Hover your mouse while listening.

Fill in the blanks
Madali lang din to, contribute to both listening and writing scores. Ace this as much as possible. Hanap kayo ng way na mas comfortable kayo, either sulat nyo muna sa pad, then after record nyo sulat sa blanks. Or mismo sa blanks na kayo magsulat habang nakikinig.


Write from dictation
Eto yung last part ng listening, kaya dapat ma-manage nyo yung time nyo ng tama, kase 1pt per correct word to. Usually 3 items, meaning 30pts agad to pag perfect nyo. Plus, both listening and writing scores pa to. So make sure to ace this one, parang repeat sentence, try to remember as much as possible.



Yan na ang best ko para sa inyo. Kung may questions kayo, you can message me directly or mention me sa comment. Maraming practice na makikita sa youtube. Regarding sa mic position, between upper lip at nose akin. Halos one inch away sa nose. Practice your breathing pag nag sasalita. Isang sentence ko, normally in one breath lang. make sure na minimal sound ang pag inhale at exhale nyo. Test your mic.  Alagaan nyo sarili nyo, importante na yung body nyo is at 100%. Sa scheduling ng exam, ayaw ko ng umaga, una puyat ako, ikalawa ang dami pating nag eexam ng umaga, ang dami pa ubo ng ubo, nakakawala sa focus. Kaya lagging hapon pinipili ko nung mga last takes ko. As for daily routine, listening on podcast helps a lot, find your interest, yung makukuha ang attention nyo, para maging interesting ang learning. Ted-ed best sa akin, saka Science vs. Yung ted talks ni james Veitch about spam emails, the best. Hahaha saka yung ted talks about proscratinator ni Tim urban. Ahahah I also listen to Team Fearless motivation sa Spotify.  yan lang, sana makatulong. Ngayon, pede na ako manuod ulit ng anime, at kdrama. Makipag talastasan sa sariling wika. At pede na ako magka-singaw.

Remember to always keep moving forward. Kahit little step pa yan, keep moving forward. It’s okay to be depressed, pero bounce back agad, saying oras.  The moment we stop trying, we won’t achieve anything. Lastly, to quote it:
