Need pa rin mag mask while taking the exam. Buti na lang may manipis ako na mask na dinala.

Test thoroughly yung equipment. Hindi lang "testing" yung word. Magbigkas ka talaga ng words if macapture ba talaga sa recording. Ang ginawa ko binasa ko lang yung instructions.

Maraming salamat po talaga. Sa mag-tatake pa, God bless po. Kaya nyo yan.

Congrats po!! Pwede pong makirepost ng tips ni @rock po. Thank you po!! Magtake na din po kami this May 24, aiming for superior also! 🙏☝️

Silent lurker here. Would like to share my experience sa PTE.
Halos 1 week lang preparation ko, sobrang swerte ko nabasa ko tong thread na to week/days before the exam kaya would like to give back by sharing my experience and giving pointers.

Specifically yung post ni @chemistmom talaga yung nagbigay sakin ng confidence sa test.
Halos yun lang rin ginamit kong mga tips kaya parang repeat lang to ng sinabi niya pero post ko na rin para makapagbigay confidence sa ibang magtetake ng exam.

    1. Equipment Check - before the start of the exam, make sure gumagana at kumportable ka sa equipment. Adjust yung headset, di ako sanay sa headset na mabigat pero no choice haha. Yung mic, tinest ko several times, nahihinaan ako sa playback sound pero yun lang ginamit ko, kaya naman marecognize ni A.I.

    2. Read Aloud - may about 40 seconds ka yata to study the passage before actual recording, check pano magiging flow ng sentences, look out for hard to pronounce words. During these 40 seconds time rin, sinusulat ko na paunti-unti rin yung template ni JimmySem for Describe Image and Retell Lecture sa erasable notepad para tuloy-tuloy mamaya.

    3. Repeat Sentence - The most important part of the exam according to many sources. Pinakaimportante dito wag ka ma-uutal, wag ka magsstop. Kapag may di ka naintindihan, palitan mo lang ng "something" para tuloy-tuloy pa rin pag repeat mo ng sentence. Remember, 3pts max lang ang content at 5pts max anf fluency. Mas mahalaga ang fluency.

    4. Describe Image - JimmySem template. "The given image is about blah blah blah". Gumagana siya. I think pinakachallenge dito yung maco-conscious ka kasi maririnig ng mga katabi mo na inuulit m lang yung template. Halos lima or anim na beses ko yata inulit yung template for both Describe Image and Retell Lecture.

    5. Retell Lecture - as above.

    6. Answer Short Question - More on vocabulary ang matetest dito. Mag-guess ka kahit hindi mo alam yung sagot.

    7. Summarize Written Text - Ginamit ko yung "albeit but therefore" template pero nung sa exam isang buong paragraph lang yung lumitaw na question sakin.

    8. Essay - Ginamit ko yung template ni Jay instead of memorizing isang buong essay kasi wala na akong time to memorize. Sanay naman ako magsulat from responding to office emails. Make sure to use the remaining time to doublecheck your sentence structures, grammar and spelling.

    9. Reading & Writing Fill in the Blanks - Don't overthink. Yung mukhang tamang sagot, yun na yun. Be familiar with collocations and yung mga madalas magamit na phrases.

    10. Multiple Choice Multiple Answer - Makikita naman sa given text yung mga sagot. I answered multiple choices kasi confident ako sa sagot ko.

    11. Re-order Paragraphs - Maganda yung tips ni Jay dito. Independent sentence then hanap ka ng kasunod na sentence na somehow nirereference yung first sentence and so on and so forth. Dalawang questions nakuha ko dito, mahirap yung pangalawa hinulaan ko na lang haha. After re-ordering, read the whole paragraph kung tunog tama.

    12. Fill in the blanks - Same tip as Reading & Writing Fill in the Blanks.

    13. Multiple Choice Single Answer - Again, makikita sa paragraph yung sagot. Mas madali to kasi isa lang sasagot mo.

    14. Summarize Spoken Text - I used one page sa notepad per question. Just scribble away habang nagsasalita yung speaker. I used the common template "The speaker was discussing about.... He then mentioned... He pointed out that .... Finally, he concluded that..." or any variation niyan.

    15. Multiple Choice, Multiple Answers - Take notes uli habang nagsasalita yung speaker. That way may mababalikan ka. Still, kailangan mo maintindihan yung overall na sinasabi nung spekaer not just the keywords kasi more on yun yung itatanong dito.

    16. Fill in the Blanks - Used "TAB" key to hop between blanks para concentrated ka sa pakikinig. Type as soon as marinig mo yung correct word. Anticipate words based on the context of the sentences.

    17. Highlight correct summary - You can use process of deduction to eliminate some choices. Notes pa rin and understanding the overall concept of the paragraph ang key dito.

    18. Multiple Choice, Single Answer - dito ako nahirapan kasi magkakaparehas halos yung mga choices. Same advice lang sa MCMA.

    19. Select Missing Word - Pure focus sa pakikinig dapat from start to end para may idea ka sa sinasabi ng speaker. Check rin yung timer kung malapit na magend yung nagsasalita. 2 questions yata nakuha ko dito. Dapat naiintindihan mo yung pinapakinggan mo para maconnect mo with the missing word. (Hinulaan ko lang yung isang sagot ko dito)

    20. Highlight Incorrect Words - Eto yata pinakamadali na section sa PTE. Click mo lang yung incorrect word habang naririnig mo.

    21. Write from Dictation - Type as you listen. Remember to capitalise first word and end with a period. Pag hindi sure sa pluralization, type both words. Hindi rin masama magdagdag ng "the" "on" "in" before words kung hindi ka sure na narinig mo o hindi.

    Ayun lang hehe.
    I hope nakatulong to. :D

@fotfot ayan po tips ni Sir Rock

Hello po ulit, as promised, ito na yung additional tips na isheshare ko para sa future takers ng PTE exam.

Ito bale yung mga binago o dinagdag ko during practice at actual exam.

    Speaking Part
DI, RL - Jimmyssem template all the way. Wag na po kayo magduda gumagana pa as of May 2022.

    Writing Part
SWT- Ginamit ko pa din yung Albeit format. Pero ngayon as much as possible di ko pinapalampas ng 35 words kasi during practice mas mataas score ko pag 32 words for example ang ginamit kesa 38 words.
WE- Ginamit ko pa din yung Although such topic format. May mga cinorrect lang akong few grammatical errors sa format sa youtube at pinacheck ko din sa magagaling mag-English na family at friends. Tapos mga 4x ko chineck yung overall grammar: spelling, tenses at punctuations.

    Reading Part
FITB R&W-Ako nasa 2-3 mins per item ako dito kasi malaki points. After ko supplyan ng words mabilisan ko binabasa yung full text para makita ko kung may off dun sa buong paragraph. Dito ko nadedetect yung mali sa una kong napiling sagot.
MCMA-Maximum 1 min lang ako dito pag di ko nagets yung passage shotgun ako sa sagot.
ROP-Mahirap pero kaya sa practice. Yung mga linking words at shift from noun to pronoun ang one of the most common clues.
FITB R-Nasa 1-2 mins per item same sa FITB R&W ginawa ko
MCSA-Eto least priority ko okay lang na 1 o 2 mins matira kasi mas okay ka dito magshotgun kesa magsuffer yung 2 FITB parts kakamadali.

    Listening Part
SST-Last March ginamit ko yung jimmyssem template ng DI, RL dito pero ngayong May binago ko na. Ang sinunod ko yung the speaker was mainly discussing...format. Better na nasa 60 yung total words kesa close to 50 or 70 based po sa resulta ng mock exams ko nag-eexperiment kasi ko.
MCMA-Nasa 15-20 secs lang ako dito shotgun pag di alam kasi mauubusan oras sa ibang parts.
FITB-Kung fast typer ka better na diretso na magsagot kahit abbreviations muna pero kung average typer ka gaya ko mas effective sakin na sa writing booklet muna magsagot. Listen attentively kasi pambawi to kaya dapat maperfect.

Other good practices na pwede ko ishare:

    • Overall grammar refresher. Ang daming items about tenses, prepositions, collocations. Madaming compound at complex sentences kaya be careful sa intervening words para di mamali kung singular o plural word na gagamitin.
    • Practice more. There's no substitute to hard work. Mahirap po talaga lalo yung Reading at Listening pero sakin more mistakes nung mock exams eh naglead to more learnings din. Kaya yan. Nung first take ko nung March naka 3 o 4 full mock exams lang ako nung practice pero ngayong 2nd take naka 14-16 full mock exams ako. And please don't be disheartened sa ApeUni results lalo sa speaking di reliable scores dun.
Tapos may sinet akong target no of practice questions ng selected items vs actual na nagawa ko tapos ginagawa kong carry-over the following day pag di ko natapos.

    Speaking Part
DI, RL - Jimmyssem template all the way. Wag na po kayo magduda gumagana pa as of May 2022.

    Writing Part
SWT- Ginamit ko pa din yung Albeit format. Pero ngayon as much as possible di ko pinapalampas ng 35 words kasi during practice mas mataas score ko pag 32 words for example ang ginamit kesa 38 words.
WE- Ginamit ko pa din yung Although such topic format. May mga cinorrect lang akong few grammatical errors sa format sa youtube at pinacheck ko din sa magagaling mag-English na family at friends. Tapos mga 4x ko chineck yung overall grammar: spelling, tenses at punctuations.

    Reading Part
FITB R&W-Ako nasa 2-3 mins per item ako dito kasi malaki points. After ko supplyan ng words mabilisan ko binabasa yung full text para makita ko kung may off dun sa buong paragraph. Dito ko nadedetect yung mali sa una kong napiling sagot.
MCMA-Maximum 1 min lang ako dito pag di ko nagets yung passage shotgun ako sa sagot.
ROP-Mahirap pero kaya sa practice. Yung mga linking words at shift from noun to pronoun ang one of the most common clues.
FITB R-Nasa 1-2 mins per item same sa FITB R&W ginawa ko
MCSA-Eto least priority ko okay lang na 1 o 2 mins matira kasi mas okay ka dito magshotgun kesa magsuffer yung 2 FITB parts kakamadali.

    Listening Part
SST-Last March ginamit ko yung jimmyssem template ng DI, RL dito pero ngayong May binago ko na. Ang sinunod ko yung the speaker was mainly discussing...format. Better na nasa 60 yung total words kesa close to 50 or 70 based po sa resulta ng mock exams ko nag-eexperiment kasi ko.
MCMA-Nasa 15-20 secs lang ako dito shotgun pag di alam kasi mauubusan oras sa ibang parts.
FITB-Kung fast typer ka better na diretso na magsagot kahit abbreviations muna pero kung average typer ka gaya ko mas effective sakin na sa writing booklet muna magsagot. Listen attentively kasi pambawi to kaya dapat maperfect.

Other good practices na pwede ko ishare:

    • Overall grammar refresher. Ang daming items about tenses, prepositions, collocations. Madaming compound at complex sentences kaya be careful sa intervening words para di mamali kung singular o plural word na gagamitin.
    • Practice more. There's no substitute to hard work. Mahirap po talaga lalo yung Reading at Listening pero sakin more mistakes nung mock exams eh naglead to more learnings din. Kaya yan. Nung first take ko nung March naka 3 o 4 full mock exams lang ako nung practice pero ngayong 2nd take naka 14-16 full mock exams ako. And please don't be disheartened sa ApeUni results lalo sa speaking di reliable scores dun.
Tapos may sinet akong target no of practice questions ng selected items vs actual na nagawa ko tapos ginagawa kong carry-over the following day pag di ko natapos.

Congrats @Unsullied_06. Tanung ko lang yung sa writing materials na ibibigay parang whiteboard ba yun tas erasable ink? Maluwag ba yung table, makakapagsulat ng maayos? Thanks

    Thanks @Unsullied_06
Nagpa practice na po ako gamit ang mouse at keyboard. Naka mask at background noise din po.hehe, yung writing material lang ang di ko pa nasubukan, papel at ballpen lang gamit ko.
Madami kayo nag exam?

In my experience may declarative, imperative at interrogative type of sentence nung exam ko last Fri sa RS part. Ang di ko po sure kung sa pool of questions nila meron din exclamatory. May nabasa po ako dati na makakaapekto sa score yung tono ng pagkakasabi vs monotonous speaking.

Hello, just chiming in, in my case when I took PTE 4 yrs ago, the tone did not affect yung result. pati accent and grammar hindi din. its more of tone suggesting you ended your sentence (ie, period) and dont leave it hanging. never put uhms and ahs as fillers/spaces in between, use words/phrases instead if you are trying to think what to say next. again that was 4 yrs ago but it did work for me.

Need pa rin mag mask while taking the exam. Buti na lang may manipis ako na mask na dinala.

Test thoroughly yung equipment.

    Speaking Part
DI, RL - Jimmyssem template all the way. Wag na po kayo magduda gumagana pa as of May 2022.

    Writing Part
SWT- Ginamit ko pa din yung Albeit format. Pero ngayon as much as possible di ko pinapalampas ng 35 words kasi during practice mas mataas score ko pag 32 words for example ang ginamit kesa 38 words.
WE- Ginamit ko pa din yung Although such topic format. May mga cinorrect lang akong few grammatical errors sa format sa youtube at pinacheck ko din sa magagaling mag-English na family at friends. Tapos mga 4x ko chineck yung overall grammar: spelling, tenses at punctuations.

    Reading Part
FITB R&W-Ako nasa 2-3 mins per item ako dito kasi malaki points. After ko supplyan ng words mabilisan ko binabasa yung full text para makita ko kung may off dun sa buong paragraph. Dito ko nadedetect yung mali sa una kong napiling sagot.
MCMA-Maximum 1 min lang ako dito pag di ko nagets yung passage shotgun ako sa sagot.
ROP-Mahirap pero kaya sa practice. Yung mga linking words at shift from noun to pronoun ang one of the most common clues.
FITB R-Nasa 1-2 mins per item same sa FITB R&W ginawa ko
MCSA-Eto least priority ko okay lang na 1 o 2 mins matira kasi mas okay ka dito magshotgun kesa magsuffer yung 2 FITB parts kakamadali.

    Listening Part
SST-Last March ginamit ko yung jimmyssem template ng DI, RL dito pero ngayong May binago ko na. Ang sinunod ko yung the speaker was mainly discussing...format. Better na nasa 60 yung total words kesa close to 50 or 70 based po sa resulta ng mock exams ko nag-eexperiment kasi ko.
MCMA-Nasa 15-20 secs lang ako dito shotgun pag di alam kasi mauubusan oras sa ibang parts.
FITB-Kung fast typer ka better na diretso na magsagot kahit abbreviations muna pero kung average typer ka gaya ko mas effective sakin na sa writing booklet muna magsagot. Listen attentively kasi pambawi to kaya dapat maperfect.

Other good practices na pwede ko ishare:

    • Overall grammar refresher. Ang daming items about tenses, prepositions, collocations. Madaming compound at complex sentences kaya be careful sa intervening words para di mamali kung singular o plural word na gagamitin.
    • Practice more. There's no substitute to hard work. Mahirap po talaga lalo yung Reading at Listening pero sakin more mistakes nung mock exams eh naglead to more learnings din. Kaya yan. Nung first take ko nung March naka 3 o 4 full mock exams lang ako nung practice pero ngayong 2nd take naka 14-16 full mock exams ako. And please don't be disheartened sa ApeUni results lalo sa speaking di reliable scores dun.
Tapos may sinet akong target no of practice questions ng selected items vs actual na nagawa ko tapos ginagawa kong carry-over the following day pag di ko natapos.
    • Mas reliable scoring sa Language Academy at 79score pero limited lang yung free mock exams kaya better sa dulo na to gamitin.
    • Nabasa ko lang sa thread, ginaya ko yung nag-advice na effective yung paggamit ng writing materials. Nagpalaminate ako 2 oslo size papers at ginamit ko nung practice maganda talagang gawin.
*Watch as many Youtube videos as you can lalo sa RS at WFD parts. Recommended channels ko tong Language Academy at BeatThePTE. Ito yung mga links nung pinanood kong videos kung saan galing yung 3 items sa RS at 2 items sa WFD ko kahapon luckily. Ang diskarte ko po dito, since June 03 exam ko ang pinanood kong videos nila ay May 29-June 04 coverage ng predicted questions. Adjust accordingly nalang po yung dates based on exam date niyo.

Hello po ulit, as promised, ito na yung additional tips na isheshare ko para sa future takers ng PTE exam.

Ito bale yung mga binago o dinagdag ko during practice at actual exam.

    Speaking Part
DI, RL - Jimmyssem template all the way. Wag na po kayo magduda gumagana pa as of May 2022.

    Writing Part
SWT- Ginamit ko pa din yung Albeit format. Pero ngayon as much as possible di ko pinapalampas ng 35 words kasi during practice mas mataas score ko pag 32 words for example ang ginamit kesa 38 words.
WE- Ginamit ko pa din yung Although such topic format. May mga cinorrect lang akong few grammatical errors sa format sa youtube at pinacheck ko din sa magagaling mag-English na family at friends. Tapos mga 4x ko chineck yung overall grammar: spelling, tenses at punctuations.

    Reading Part
FITB R&W-Ako nasa 2-3 mins per item ako dito kasi malaki points. After ko supplyan ng words mabilisan ko binabasa yung full text para makita ko kung may off dun sa buong paragraph. Dito ko nadedetect yung mali sa una kong napiling sagot.
MCMA-Maximum 1 min lang ako dito pag di ko nagets yung passage shotgun ako sa sagot.
ROP-Mahirap pero kaya sa practice. Yung mga linking words at shift from noun to pronoun ang one of the most common clues.
FITB R-Nasa 1-2 mins per item same sa FITB R&W ginawa ko
MCSA-Eto least priority ko okay lang na 1 o 2 mins matira kasi mas okay ka dito magshotgun kesa magsuffer yung 2 FITB parts kakamadali.

    Listening Part
SST-Last March ginamit ko yung jimmyssem template ng DI, RL dito pero ngayong May binago ko na. Ang sinunod ko yung the speaker was mainly discussing...format. Better na nasa 60 yung total words kesa close to 50 or 70 based po sa resulta ng mock exams ko nag-eexperiment kasi ko.
MCMA-Nasa 15-20 secs lang ako dito shotgun pag di alam kasi mauubusan oras sa ibang parts.
FITB-Kung fast typer ka better na diretso na magsagot kahit abbreviations muna pero kung average typer ka gaya ko mas effective sakin na sa writing booklet muna magsagot. Listen attentively kasi pambawi to kaya dapat maperfect.

Other good practices na pwede ko ishare:

    • Overall grammar refresher. Ang daming items about tenses, prepositions, collocations. Madaming compound at complex sentences kaya be careful sa intervening words para di mamali kung singular o plural word na gagamitin.
    • Practice more. There's no substitute to hard work. Mahirap po talaga lalo yung Reading at Listening pero sakin more mistakes nung mock exams eh naglead to more learnings din. Kaya yan. Nung first take ko nung March naka 3 o 4 full mock exams lang ako nung practice pero ngayong 2nd take naka 14-16 full mock exams ako. And please don't be disheartened sa ApeUni results lalo sa speaking di reliable scores dun.

Retaking my PTE exam this Friday since nagexpire na without an invite (sad!). A few questions:

    1) Does anyone have an account in APEUni they can share so that I can practice the full test?
    2) Any available parking near Trident tower?

    Thank you very much!

Silent lurker here. Would like to share my experience sa PTE.
Halos 1 week lang preparation ko, sobrang swerte ko nabasa ko tong thread na to week/days before the exam kaya would like to give back by sharing my experience and giving pointers.

Specifically yung post ni @chemistmom talaga yung nagbigay sakin ng confidence sa test.
Halos yun lang rin ginamit kong mga tips kaya parang repeat lang to ng sinabi niya pero post ko na rin para makapagbigay confidence sa ibang magtetake ng exam.

    1. Equipment Check - before the start of the exam, make sure gumagana at kumportable ka sa equipment. Adjust yung headset, di ako sanay sa headset na mabigat pero no choice haha. Yung mic, tinest ko several times, nahihinaan ako sa playback sound pero yun lang ginamit ko, kaya naman marecognize ni A.I.

    2. Read Aloud - may about 40 seconds ka yata to study the passage before actual recording, check pano magiging flow ng sentences, look out for hard to pronounce words. During these 40 seconds time rin, sinusulat ko na paunti-unti rin yung template ni JimmySem for Describe Image and Retell Lecture sa erasable notepad para tuloy-tuloy mamaya.

    3. Repeat Sentence - The most important part of the exam according to many sources. Pinakaimportante dito wag ka ma-uutal, wag ka magsstop. Kapag may di ka naintindihan, palitan mo lang ng "something" para tuloy-tuloy pa rin pag repeat mo ng sentence. Remember, 3pts max lang ang content at 5pts max anf fluency. Mas mahalaga ang fluency.

    4. Describe Image - JimmySem template. "The given image is about blah blah blah". Gumagana siya. I think pinakachallenge dito yung maco-conscious ka kasi maririnig ng mga katabi mo na inuulit m lang yung template. Halos lima or anim na beses ko yata inulit yung template for both Describe Image and Retell Lecture.

    5. Retell Lecture - as above.

    6. Answer Short Question - More on vocabulary ang matetest dito. Mag-guess ka kahit hindi mo alam yung sagot.

    7. Summarize Written Text - Ginamit ko yung "albeit but therefore" template pero nung sa exam isang buong paragraph lang yung lumitaw na question sakin.

    8. Essay - Ginamit ko yung template ni Jay instead of memorizing isang buong essay kasi wala na akong time to memorize. Sanay naman ako magsulat from responding to office emails. Make sure to use the remaining time to doublecheck your sentence structures, grammar and spelling.

    9. Reading & Writing Fill in the Blanks - Don't overthink. Yung mukhang tamang sagot, yun na yun. Be familiar with collocations and yung mga madalas magamit na phrases.

    10. Multiple Choice Multiple Answer - Makikita naman sa given text yung mga sagot. I answered multiple choices kasi confident ako sa sagot ko.

    11. Re-order Paragraphs - Maganda yung tips ni Jay dito. Independent sentence then hanap ka ng kasunod na sentence na somehow nirereference yung first sentence and so on and so forth. Dalawang questions nakuha ko dito, mahirap yung pangalawa hinulaan ko na lang haha. After re-ordering, read the whole paragraph kung tunog tama.

    12. Fill in the blanks - Same tip as Reading & Writing Fill in the Blanks.

    13. Multiple Choice Single Answer - Again, makikita sa paragraph yung sagot. Mas madali to kasi isa lang sasagot mo.

    14. Summarize Spoken Text - I used one page sa notepad per question. Just scribble away habang nagsasalita yung speaker. I used the common template "The speaker was discussing about.... He then mentioned... He pointed out that .... Finally, he concluded that..." or any variation niyan.

    15. Multiple Choice, Multiple Answers - Take notes uli habang nagsasalita yung speaker. That way may mababalikan ka. Still, kailangan mo maintindihan yung overall na sinasabi nung spekaer not just the keywords kasi more on yun yung itatanong dito.

    16. Fill in the Blanks - Used "TAB" key to hop between blanks para concentrated ka sa pakikinig. Type as soon as marinig mo yung correct word. Anticipate words based on the context of the sentences.

    17. Highlight correct summary - You can use process of deduction to eliminate some choices. Notes pa rin and understanding the overall concept of the paragraph ang key dito.

    18. Multiple Choice, Single Answer - dito ako nahirapan kasi magkakaparehas halos yung mga choices. Same advice lang sa MCMA.

    19. Select Missing Word - Pure focus sa pakikinig dapat from start to end para may idea ka sa sinasabi ng speaker. Check rin yung timer kung malapit na magend yung nagsasalita. 2 questions yata nakuha ko dito. Dapat naiintindihan mo yung pinapakinggan mo para maconnect mo with the missing word. (Hinulaan ko lang yung isang sagot ko dito)

    20. Highlight Incorrect Words - Eto yata pinakamadali na section sa PTE. Click mo lang yung incorrect word habang naririnig mo.

    21. Write from Dictation - Type as you listen. Remember to capitalise first word and end with a period. Pag hindi sure sa pluralization, type both words. Hindi rin masama magdagdag ng "the" "on" "in" before words kung hindi ka sure na narinig mo o hindi.

    Ayun lang hehe.
    I hope nakatulong to. :D
