Someone give me an advice.

My son have plaques on the teeth (total of 6 teeth) that needs thorough cleaning. We went to a clinic in Collins street, using the 1,000AUD medicare voucher from medicare, so the xray and consultations is free.

After the dental check-up, the dentist told us the our son (3 yrs old), will need to be sedated/ patulugin so they can perform the dental procedures. Bata pa kasi and mahirap linisan baka daw ma shock. So it will be perform in a hospital. The quoted price is 2,200 for the dental procedures, 900 for hospital fees and more or less 500 for anesthesiologist. So more or less at least 3,000 ang need namin na bayaran, kasi di nman daw sagot un ng medicare. Though nag-ooffer naman sila ng installment payments sa 2,200. Medyo late na din daw if kumuha kami ng private health insurance kasi may records na ung baby ko and pwede daw sila ma audit/ tanungin if bigla kami mag claim.

Is it worth it? Ganito ba talaga kamahal magpadental ng bata sa Aussie? We are thinking of alternatives or maybe going to other dentist. Pwede din umuwi ng pinas at dun nalang magpabunot kasi sobrang mahal tlaga hehe

@vhoythoy magpa second opinion ka sa ibang dentist. Naganyan kami siguro mga 1 year ago. May black spot kase sa isang tooth ng anak namin (almost same age ng anak mo mga 3 siya nun). Ganyan din ang binigay saming option nung dentist. Kase nga daw bata pa baka matrauma and all actually medyo mura pa yang quote sayo naalala ko almost 5K aud ang pagkaquote samin nun kase nga daw kelangan gawin sa hospital tapos may mga anaesthetic ekek. So ang ginawa namin nagpunta kami sa ibang dentist tapos pinacheck namin uli ang ipin ng anak namin. ayun nilagyan siya ng filling. pero mga less than 150aud lang ang ginastos namin. kase naman db milk teeth pa naman ang ipin nila so i guess magpunta kayo ibang dentist and try niyo ipacheck ang ipin ng anak niyo.

Thanks, kasi sabi malapit na daw sa nerves at sasakit daw un. napapaisip na tuloy ako sa private health insurance. yup milk teeth nga un, and medyo masakit sa bulsa 3k haha
