Hi! I'm starting a new thread to help new student visa applicants.. (im still waiting for my visa's decision.. so help me God )

1) Decide on your course. Think. (it should be related to your course and future career)
-according to @adelaideboi.. ang mga courses na pwede kang maemployed sa AU ay nursing, IT and aged care; pero syempre hindi lang yan madami pa ibang courses offered sa AU, so think.

2) Scout/search for possible schools and where to take it i.e: Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth etc.. Search yung buhay sa napili nyung pupuntahan weather, accomodation, living expenses etc.

3) Contact CRICOS provider school for their specific requirements yung iba asa website na.. (main concern in this stage: IELTS exam - some schools require OBS7.0 and no grades below 7.0 especially pag bachelor's and master's degree and kukunin mo. score of 6.5 - for VET courses, certificates/diploma & isa pang concern ay yung Tuition fees, university costs A$10,000-A$15,000/sem for masteral and bachelors depende sa school.. ELICOS (english courses A$2000-A$5500).. VET courses- A$2000-A$7000 per sem)

4) Make a checklist of the requirements.

5) Schedule for IELTS exam. Review. Pray. Take the exams. Pray for your desired result. Wait for 13-14 days for the result.

6) While waiting for exam results, gather other requirements like TOR, Diploma (HS-College), download student visa forms, read http://www.immi.gov.au/students/students/chooser/subclass-options.htm and DL forms here http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/application-forms/forms_alpha.htm#s;

7) IELTS exam results successful. >-

8) Pwede na magapply sa school. Check kung na comply lahat ng requirements ng school.

9) Wait for Offer Letter. Pag meron na, check kung okay na kayo dun, T.fees, length of classes, etc. if okay inform the school. Sign written agreement. Pay T.fees (I think yung iba 1 sem. lang yung required bayaran, and yung iba may choice kung sakanila ka kukuha ng student's medical insurance)

10) Complete all requirements for student visa
- read/search for checklist here http://www.immi.gov.au/students/checklists/ - depende yan sa course nyo: Subclass 570:ELICOS (assessment level 3); 572: VET (assess level 3); 573: Higher Education (assess. level 2 ata)

11) Bank certificates/ statements/ statutory declaration ng mag sponsor sa inyo,, (yung pera sa bank dapat 3 months ata before ka magapply andun); check for specific na amount na kailangan, it varies lalo na pag may dependents kau. for sinle ata at least A$18000/year plus Tuition fees ang laman sa bank so, pag 2 years ang course dapat at least A$36000 plus T.fees ata ang nasa banko ng sponsor nyu, hindi ata pwede ang time deposit, check nyu na lang din

12) After macomplete lahat ng requirements, pwede na kayo mag lodge.

13) Wait after 7-14days for the acknowledgement of the embassy, (usually they will email you, rarely ata thru SMS - i dont know basta email add is very important)

14) when you received the letter from the embassy, they will instruct you to do your medical exams

15) Medical exams. Wait and follow up after 3-5 days kung na upload na sa ehealth system yung files nyo.

16) If naupload na yung file, all we have to wait for our CO's decision, hit refresh (F5) once in a while sa email nyu hehe. No, just pray, pray and pray.

17) it really depends kung ilang days after maupload,, yung iba dito sa forum after 5 working days; 11 wdays; 17 w.days; 23 w.days. so depende talaga sa CO and sa application mo.

18) Visa granted. :-j (*)

19) Buy your plane ticket. Enjoy and live a better study life in AU. Don't forget to thank God for your success.

pag may kulang and gusto kayo idagdag feel free.. one more thing check if your NBI clearance kasi nayong matagal na kumuha so allot 2 weeks para sa waiting time ng NBI pag may kapangalan ka at naghit and 1 day para pumila sa haba ng tao kumukuha ng clearance.,

also, if the school need for specific immunizations, complete nyu na din,

panu mo nalaman na na rcv na nila by 25 yung medical mo? paraho tayu ng subclass
nag forward ka na ba ng NSO mo? d ako makapag request kasi wala pa mail embassy sakin and i need reference number from them to proceed. lahat ba ng subclass 572 e 2-3 months lahat? meron pag naka rcv ng earlier than that?

Reply to @juvy: they required me additional docs. kaya natagalan, tsaka di kasi kasali yung school ko sa streamlined visa processing kaya assessment level 3 pa din ako in that case mas mabusisi sila,,

yung medical mo follow up mo sa nationwide baguio asked them kung nasubmit na nila sa ehealth,

yes nagforward ako ng NSO (online meron) tasbayad ka sa BDO. no, the reference number sa NSO is different from the reference no. sa embassy. apply ka online sa ecensus,

yes madami na nakareceive ng visa nauna pa ko sakanila magsubmit pero yung school nila kasi kasama. sa streamlined.

@beaj thank you for replying. We will be lodging our application this september and nagbabasa ako they introduced the GTE, naabutan po ba kayo nito?

Gaano po ka strict ang mga case officers na naghhandle ng student visa applications regarding the GTE or sa proof of funds sila mahigpit?

My hubby po kasi is a mining engineer, since ayaw nya mag ielts, ako ginawa nyang main applicant, ok naman na po ielts ko 7.5OBS kaso po di ko ma assess kung positive or negative on our side ung job nya baka masilip ng case officer na mining engr sya tapos payag sya na dependent ko lang sa visa. Baka po meron kayong maipapayo sa amin. Thank you po.

Btw, im a Psychology grauate here sa atin and planning to take up management or marketing in sydney, masisilip din po ba ng case officer un kung hindi relevant sa education background ko and may phone interviews pa po ba sa mga case officers? Thanks again. God bless us all.

Hello, I've no idea what GTE is. So I've read about it. Apparently, everyone goes through with this. Just go through the whole process and it's the embassy's prerogative na how they will have you assessed.

I don't really know kung gano sila kastrict and all. Just submit the necessary documents and abide by the process and you're good to go. Okay lang din magshift ka ng course. Ako, Education graduate dito pero I'm taking Business in AU. Meron kasi part sa application na essay na kelangan sagutan about why you're taking the course, relevance to your field, etc.

@beaj thank you for the reply. I also have no idea sa GTE kaya nag search din ako, yes you are right we just have to follow the process and depende na lang sa case officer talaga.

hi po. Concern ko yung course ko. i took up Civil Engineering pero kasi kahit nasa construction industry ako, more on Administrative works ako. I already inquired sa Curtin U and Murdoch U and I plan to take up Graduate Diploma of Records Magmt and Archives since I felt na comfy ako dun (I am working as a Document COntroller). COnfusion arose when I had an appointment with IDP Abu Dhabi:

1. Sabi nila, I have to fulfill GTE and I have to prove to the immi or CO in that case na talagang mag-aaral lang ako. Of course, I want to be permanently based there after ko magstudy. How can I prove to them that I am going to study only if I will take up a Graduate Diploma Course eh Degree Holder ako? Ano ang solution, I asked? They said I take up Masters. Kasi daw kasama un sa streamlined visa and they will Assess me under Level 1.

2. They are also telling na if I take up Masters, I can work 40 hours a week (usually 20 hours a week lang ang part time) pero when i checked DIAC, it mentioned 40 hours each fortnight. Meaning 20 hours a week din un.

3. They also mentioned that If I study there for 92 weeks (or 2 years), I am allowed to stay for another 2 years (totalling to 4 na). this will give me ample time to find a sponsor and find a stable job.

4. One of my first options before Curtin and Murdoch was TAFE WA. I plan to take up 6 months first then a diploma course afterwards. IDP said na if I take this path, there is no guarantee that my visa will be granted. Level 3 kasi ang VET sa atin so baka mahirapan daw ako and I should eliminate that TAFE option.

Well, now sobrang confused ako. And also, I am not really sure what to do now.

Hello! I'm going to help you just like how the people helped me here when I was still confused like you before

Firstly, I am not a big fan of education agents. I had a rough time with IDP Manila. They weren't helpful, well at least for the agent na I talked to. If you can do it yourself i.e. if you have time, go ahead. At least, you communicate personally to the persons involved in the process. Ibubullet ko nalang yun points ko para madali. hehe

-RE: Your course. In my case, I have a degree nga in Educ tapos ang itatake ko cert 2,3 4 and diploma in business which is for 2yrs. I've never had a job related to business at all. Wala akong alam na office work. But I still went ahead and okay naman yun result. Meron kasing part sa application form na may essay as what I've stated in my previous post.
-A graduate diploma course is not a degree. It is a short course. Parang vocational nga. As long as you are able to prove that it'll help you in your career decision in the long run, then you're good to go. You're lucky coz you're working in an office-related field. So yun palang maeexplain mo na mabuti.
-Everyone goes through the GTE. You will go through the same process as everyone else i.e. submitting your application form and necessary documents.
- Nos. 2 and 3 points are NOT entirely true. Phd lang yun pwede magwork ng longer hours. PERO, since part-time, pwedeng under the table naman ang working hours mo. My friends there who are students as well, work more than 20hrs pw. Yun plus two years, I'm not quite sure. Pero I haven't heard anyone who has two more years extra in their student visa.
-No. 4 I'm not really familiar with TAFE. Pero that's what IDP Manila told me too, when I asked about the school. They don't recommend it. Pero madami naman nandito na sa TAFE nagaaral and magaaral. Get a course na at least 2 years. I dunno kung may diploma ang tafe, pero kasi kung six months ka sa tafe and then magtatake ka ng diploma course. Dapat may proper documentation ka nadin for your diploma course. Meaning, nagapply and nakaenroll ka nadin. Kasi kelangan ipadala din yun sa embassy.
- VET courses and Assessment Level 3: A lot of us here are under these category and as you can see na approve naman kami. It all boils down naman kasi to your application - given that you provided the necessary documents.

Kung ako sayo, do it yourself. Wag ka mababaan ng loob dahil sa sinabi ng IDP. They told me the exact same things. Hell! I was devastated. They even told me I couldn't reach the July intake for the University that I applied to before. Pero naaccept ako sa Uni, hindi ko lang siya pinili. Pumetix din kasi ako, so kung hindi siguro, siguro by now nasa AU nako. hehehe

@ beaj Hi! Sa SBTA ako ikaw saan? i already paid the tuition im taking up diploma in management or marketing (pareho lang kasi ung tuition hehehe) btw, i assume youre still single? Bilib ako sainyo na di kayo nag agent sa pag process ng visa. I dont have kasi the time, i have 2 school age kids. Nakatali ako sa kanila which is so fine with me . May I ask ano ginamit mo na proof of funds? Sa amin kasi sa MIL ko, sobrang generous nya talaga sa amin, im so lucky to have her as my MIL. Did you present your own savings for the proof of funds or sponsor lang din? Thanks in advance. Sana pag nagka visa kami we could see each other sa sydney

Lift up all your worries to Him and He'll provide. Kmi ng hubby ko, me as the main applicant God willing makapag lodge na this September, napatagal lang dahil sa proof of funds, nwala sa isip namin na dapat nga pala 3months prior to lodgment nasa bank na pera. Kaya natin ito.

yes may GTE pero lahat dadaan sa process na yun (it was implemented last March 2012). My visa is still on process according to the embassy, bachelor's degree holder din ako (BS Pscych and BS Nursing) and yet I enrolled a VET course. (accdg. to my agent that would not be a problem) answer yung the essay part dun sa form.

ang alam ko sa MA yung applicant 20per week lang pwede magwork and pwede lang ata magwork ng 40 hrs. kung may kasama kang husband sa application mo. (kagaya nung friend ko na husband yung wife nya yung nagaaral tapos sya pwede sya mag 40 hrs/ week na work pero c wife 20hrs/wk lang)

i think ang sinsabi ng IDP is yung 2 year post study work visa na new arrangement ng AUS sa applicants ng Nov. 2011-present, in summary read this:

The department of Immigration will be be providing a 2 yr Post-Study Work VISA for graduates who have completed a bachelor’s degree for a period of at least 2 yrs.

Graduates who have completed a Masters by research degree or a PhD in Australia will be eligible for a post-study work visa for three or four years respectively.

like what beaj said, mag DIY ka na lang, kaya mo naman na mag-isa, back read ka lang sa forum. and read mo lang website ng embassy, i think yung Curtin and Murdoch U kasama sa streamlined visa processing and most ata ng TAFE schools kasama din, in that case Assessment level 1 nila iprocess yung papers mo. check for the schools na kasama sa streamlined visa proc.

@HaideeN sa bridge business college ako yup single pako and jobless. Kakabalik ko lang din kasi from sg kaya sabi ng dad ko wag na daw ako magwork and instead ayusin ko nalang. Parents ko yun magfufund sakin. What we did is we got bank certifications indicating all their accounts and yun laman. We got bank certs from 3 banks, tapos 2 banks yun cnonsider nila and yun dollar accts. Pwede time deposit kung inlaw mo yun magssponsor dapat meron kang affidavit of support

@beaj sayang kala ko sa SBTA ka din, yes meron nga financial support statement na ppirmahan ng MIL ko, 2 banks din un, wait lang kami mag mature ung pera this august para makakuha ng bank cert at statement ata, tapos isasama na lang din namin ng hubby ko ung dollar account namin, buti nasabi mo kasi di ko sure kung pwede un eh kasi ung peso namin nagagalaw namin eh, di ba dapat naka maintain ung pera sa bank 3 months prior to lodging? Kaya nga kami tumagal sa paglodge kasi nung May nagdeposit pala MIL ko, eh last week ng May lang kami nakaisip mag apply ng visa, june30 kumuha nako ielts parang less than 3wks lang ako nag review hehehehe. Dalawa kasi kami ng hubby ko, mejo malaki ang hinhingi na proof of funds.

Do you have an idea paano natin mapapakita na may authority tayo na makuha ung funds mula sa sponsor natin? I mean, pagpunta mo sa australia, ano dala mo na papers regarding sa proof of funds beside sa cash na dala mo?

Hi, Sisses. May idea kayo about bridging visa? Naguguluhan kasi ako intindihin. Hahaha.tomorrow pa lang pala ako maglodge for student visa. Melbourne ako BS Nursing for 1 year under CPL. Sana kasing bilis din yung processing sa akin gaya kay sis beaj, nakakinspire. Qualified pala yung sa akin sa streamlined visa processing kasama ang school ko sa List. Sana totoo yung timeline na nakalagay sa website na 14 days.

When you lodged your application, what documents were required, if I may ask? Tama ka, sobrang confused ako. BAgay na bagay sa akin ang sisa.ahahah!

I thought ang streamlined visa is for bachelor's, masters and Phd. Ang TAFE ba merong ganun? I thought the streamlined visa will be dependent on the course you will take (like Masters, Bachelors, Phd) not the university itself. Kasi kung sa schools na kasama sa streamlined visa, marami sila talaga maaasses as Level 1.

Reply to @sisa16: cert 4 in spoken and written english, cert 3 & 4 in aged care., ahm kasama sa nilodge ko, COe from school, bank certficates and statements, receipt ng nso birth cert, tor and diplomas, copy ng passporte, application forms, may checklist sila sa site nila kung anong visa type ayun ni complete ko lang yun ang kilang ko pala yung bank statements hindi kasi 3 months yung naproduce kaya nirequred nila ako isend yung original bank books,

yung streamlined visa proc. may participating universities sila may website na may list ng schools, tas eto yung mga eligible:

 Bachelor degrees

Reply to @Cheers25: hehehe.ewan ko ba, lahat kasi inaabsorb ko. Nakapuno na nga ako ng isang box file worth ng prints out para pag-aralan ko. Nag print ako ng sa students visa, skill select, etc.hehehe.. Nga pala, may possibility ba na ung student visa na igagrant eh merong NFS or No Further Stay? I came across N.F.S, N.E.C and N.F.D (though ang NEC and NFD eh sa skilled ko nakita). I was just wondering...
