@hotshot - oo nga eh.. crucial decision talga yan... kaya pinagiisipan kong mabuti para sa kapatid ko..

tourist visa is another option.. yun nga lang, max stay in AU is only 12 months, but they can go back anytime.. read below..

    Tourist Visa (Subclass 676) - Fee 115AUD
Parents of Australian citizens or permanent residents
Parents of Australian permanent residents or Australian citizens may be eligible for the grant of one of the following:

•Tourist visa of up to five years validity with a stay of up to 12 months on each entry where they are applying from outside Australia and are in the Parent (subclass 103) visa queue

•Tourist visa of up to three years validity with 12 months stay on each entry where they are applying from outside Australia and are not in the Parent visa queue.

These longer stay and validity visas are not available to people who apply in Australia.

In addition to meeting all other Tourist visa requirements, you will need to:

•hold health insurance to cover any healthcare costs during your stay
•not stay in Australia for more than 12 months in any 18 month period. (Like all tourists, parents granted Tourist visas are expected to maintain extended periods of absence between visits to Australia).

I think I found a way to do it.

    1. I'll apply for the parent visa which is already capped and queued so god knows how many years its will take. ;)
    2. I'll apply for a tourist visa for my parents. (for the purpose so I can work and I don't have to resort to infant care)

reason being is that, they have a new rule for tourist visa that is applying also for the parent visa.

Longer Tourist visas for parents of Australians

From 24 November 2012, parents of Australian citizens and permanent residents will be able to apply for Tourist visas to visit Australia for longer.

The department will grant on a case-by-case basis:

Tourist visas of up to five years validity which provide a stay of up to 12 months on each entry to those parents who are outside Australia and are in the Parent (subclass 103) visa queue.
Tourist visas of up to three years validity with 12 months stay on each entry will be considered for parents who are outside Australia and are not in the Parent visa queue.
These changes allow parents who meet the criteria for a Tourist visa to have regular extended visits with their family in Australia without needing to apply for a new visa on each visit.

Under these more flexible arrangements, in addition to meeting all other Tourist visa requirements, parents will be expected to hold health insurance to cover any healthcare costs during their stay and will have a visa condition limiting applications for further visas while they are in Australia.

Like all tourists, parents granted Tourist visas are expected to maintain extended periods of absence between visits to Australia.

    I say it's worth the try. :)

Malamang after 2 years pa ito because of the conditions for Parent visa 103. until then I will just have to resort to regular tourist visa which they extended up to 3 years validity.

anyone knows how many days you have to be out of australia to return again? kse sa SG pag naexpire ang visa mo you need to be out of the country for minimum of 3 days then you can go back. How about sa OZ?

mas better if tourist visa ang parents if you are time challenged...mahirap talaga ang sponsorship for parents. even in nz, parents actually need to take ielts! general lang naman pero talagang ang hirap and costly. what most filipinos actually is just get a tourist visa..and extend lang ng extend specially those housewives or older parents.

some also, their parents actually applied and had their skills assessed para maka work visa and later maka apply din p.r. on their own pero i think applicable lang toh if professional din ang parents/ currently have valid work experience.

Lenient pa rin sila sa parent visa if you ask me hehe. How I wish mas mabilis lang ang petition para sa kanila lalo na kung single naman yung applicant :)

@kenkoy hi mam ask ko lang po ano pala proof na binigay na dependent kayo sa anak nyo..
for my case kasi my mom is widowed and ako lang anak .. kasama namin now dito sa SG..
ano ba requirements at bakit nyo nasabi mabusisi.. additional thing is hindi nakatapos mama ko kailangan ba educational certs kahit parents..

i have 2 options na naiisip now.
    1. ilagay muna sya sa non-migrating dependents at iapply ko na parents visa later on.
since widowed naman sya and 65 yrs old baka maapprove agad.
may nakagawa ba noon dito non-migrating dependents then later on eh iapply ng parents visa.
kahit matagal meron din naman yung long term visit pass now.
    2. isama na sya as dependent kaso ang alam ko madami nga requirements ..baka masyado matagalan nga lang..

so for now option 1 naiisip ko non-migraing dependents muna then later i-apply ng parents visa kung pwede..

    thanks in advance.

@rylynn this is kinda long, make sure u have the patience. :D

from memory, (all orig & old copies) docs we submitted at DIAC upon lodging of application (at the same time):
    1. main applicant's (MA) birth cert
    2. my birth cert
    3. my NSO cenomar
    4. MA's baptismal cert
    5. brgy cert stating that we've been residents since time immemorial until present, our relationship, that MA, as per brgy record, is the head of family & i am into freelance jobs, my civil status & # of household members (brgy census for voting purposes; we were only 2).
    6. MA's health insurance cert from office that i've been his dependent since his employment.
    7. MA's & my health insurance ID cards
    8. MA's SSS & driver's license & my driver's licence & TIN ID for identification purposes that we live in the same address
    9. my college cert stating my course, years attended & another cert as english is the medium of instruction. to satisfy them more, i submitted HS cert english as medium of instruction
    10. my college & HS TOR
    11. my med cert from my specialist stating my medical condition plus my lab test results for a year.
    12. on one bond paper, reason why i am not regularly employed. i only had freelance jobs bec i refuse to stay late at nights sa kung saan. included too is my medical history from my POV, what really transpired during those days. (surgical operation & its effect to my health)
    13. stat dec on my inability to figure out the exact dates of my school start & end for form that i can't recall. parang FORM 80 ata.

DIAC requested later together w/ medicals...ito ung mabusisi at umiyak ako sa pagod bec we only had 28 days to beat: PROOF that mother is a dependent (o di ka ba naman mapikon, kulang pa pala). hahah! pero na realize ko later oo nga naman, kulang. kasi parang ung mga dox submitted during the lodgement ay pawang for identification purposes. pero earlier, we readied ourselves pa rin for addt'l dox just in case but we didn't expect the CO to contact us that early.

    1. MA's & my bank acct transaction proving remittances. actually, before he would cash on hand, but when he was assigned abroad for a project in may 2010, only then we started bank to bank remittance for the household expenses & my maintenance meds, etc. dito yata kami sinuerte kasi we didn't know mapapakinabangan pala namin itong system (banktobank) a year later. (we applied june 2011) kahit umuwi na sya after 6 months, ganuon na rin ang naging sistema namin until i left in nov 2012. paiyakan ito kasi ang tagal i-provide ng banko & yet we needed to highlight all his remittances. sa dami ang hirap isa-isahin just to prove that we've been doing this banktobank since 2010. hindi ba dapat u prove of at least one year dependency? parang from may'10-feb'12 yata ang proof namin.
    2. to prove that he provides me the shelter, we submitted a TCT of our house which technically is under his name.
    3. household expenses breakdown in excel for 13 months (may'10-june'11) na suuuuuper hirap. it was a good thing every year since 19kopong-kopong may ledger ako ng household expenses. ang mahirap lang is ung category at columns. from experience, heto ung pinagpupuyatan ko ng husto, i almost gave up. on the nth hour na namin na upload kasi 100x ako nag check for its accuracy.

the next working day, bingooooooo! both visas were released =D>. pawis. luha. duda. novena. all paid off. <:-P thanksgiving mass & feast the following weekend.

feel free if u have more question. next (tomorrow) is my suggestion (lang) to u. pagod na ako. pag pinilit mo ako ngayon, may bayad na. :))

    ... is on dependent visa. main applicant code 261313; 175 e-lodged june 6, 2011; visa grant mar 13, 2012; NSW-based.

Maka singit lang sa conversation. Ask ko lang if ako muna ang magapply ng visa then if granted na sya ako muna magpunta ng AU then after a year once ma maestablish ko na sarili ko doon ko na lang sponsor ang brother ko as dependent. Question is do I need to pay a lot of money in doing so and how can I prove na I've been supporting him financially? He is older than me by 4 years? And gano katagal kaya ang processing noon? Hope you can help me guys.
