About the business and the roleThe Quality Control Officer works closely with the technical team and production managers to ensure that all raw materials are received to specification.
The primary role is to manage the quality of the products by locating problems and defects. It involves inspecting, texting and checking to make sure the quality of the product is okay, if anything is suspected to be wrong it must either be fixed or eliminated completely to make sure it meets the required standard.
The job requires you to look at the quality of various vegetables in the warehouses.
Job tasks and responsibilitiesGeneral responsibilities include:
- Inspect products to ensure consistency and quality.
- Works closely with the Technical team and production managers to ensure that all raw materials are received to specification.
- This is achieved through hands on inspection of vegetables, ingredients and packaging with cross reference against specifications.
- Work in a fast paced and demanding environment.
- Test a certain percentage of all vegetables product based on industry standards.
- investigate customer complaints
- prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities
Skills and experienceRequirements for the role
- Minimum Tertiary Qualifications require for this position.
- 2 to 3 years in vegetable quality control position.
- quality inspection and auditing experience.
- Identification and communication of any non-performance to quality policies and procedures is crucial as is the coaching and training to rectify any issues.
