I have an expat Japanese friend and I used to ask her the same question because I know a lot of Aussies who moved to Japan to teach English and for better environment.

Mas achieve daw kasi sa Australian ang work-life balance. Hindi stressful Hindi masyadong encouraged ang OT lalo na sa workplace na mas maraming locals or locally-owned (my work, Australian employer) pero meron pa ding workplace (like my husband's, Malaysian-Chinese owned) na mataas ang stress levels at puro OT.

May medicare din dito, at maraming support from the government. Not entirely sure with Japanese government, have to double check this.

May medicare din dito, at maraming support from the government. Not entirely sure with Japanese government, have to double check this.
