Planning Levels 2020-2021

Hello Everyone,

Did anyone look at the planning levels/allocations for 2020-2021?

Like many members here, I am also monitoring updates from DHA re skilled migration programs. I have this puzzle in mind about the planning levels/allocations for 2020-2021 in relation to the number of invitations that would be issued this April (last quarter round).

As of January 2021
Skilled Independent (189) = 1192 / 6500 = 18.34%
Skilled Nominated (190) = 2648 / 11200 = 23.64%
Regional (491 – Family) = 1692 / 11200 = 15.11% (no data outside of family-sponsored so could be higher)

Historically, the numbers are always above 80% (the least figure I could remember). Now we might say that “the pandemic, you know.”, BUT the allocations were made in the middle of the pandemic, while addressing the current (and supposedly future) issues. Furthermore, part of the recovery response was highlighted too (i.e., PMSOL, targeted draws and may probably also why the 189 allocations were reduced from 18k+ down to 6500).

Last quarter na. Ano sa tingin nyo?

    Hi @icomanman
sa tingin ko, after this april round , DHA will change their landscape, hopefully mag landslide nga ng invitations. mass migration.. praying for that.. 🙏🏻
I think mas nag iingat lang sila na di makapasok ang covid at ma overwelm ang nga hotels nila.. pinag aaralan nila mabuti.. how to open their economy. kahit gusto nila magpapasok ng mga visa holders parang super ingat sila.. yun lang yun feeling ko..
at the same time may mga issue pa sa vaccination nila for their citizens, ilang percent pa lang ang nabakunahan nila and only one type of vaccine is being administered which is Astrazeneca nga.. unlike for example SG, three types of vaccine(pfizer, moderna and Sinovac) ang approved for use. so kung for example may issue sa sinovac naka hold sya pero on going ang moderna at pfizer.. on going ang vaccination hindi sila uurong sulong.. yun lang napansin ko.. sa AU only astra so pag may issue sa Astra, stop ang vaccination uurong ang target date na dapat ilang percentage ng population ang mababakunahan..
and may nabasa ako na na namention ni Ms Rhea that theres a push na mga list of occupations to be added to PMSOL. like chefs and mostly are in the engineering field, so madami na ipa priority, pasok na din ang offshore once nasa priority list na sila.. may nabasa din ako this coming April 12 they will have a meeting sa Gov so hopefully makapag discuss sila ng concrete plan.. Im also patiently waiting..

Thank you @Capuccino_2017 . Hoping for mass invites din. Kasi kung tutuusin, pwede naman nila i arrange yung pag pasok ng migrants na hindi sabay sabay or by batch depende sa conditions ng visa. Also, taking into account yun processing times eh hindi naman agad agad ma ga grant.

Re PMSOL, hindi ako hopeful dito kasi sa pagkaka intindi ko, PMSOL is mostly for employer-sonsored and active applications (not EOIs).

oh i see, base kase sa nabasa from an agent in this forum din is advising yun mentioned occupations na possible na ma add sa PMSOL , for them to get ready and submit EOI’s as soon as possible.. so pag kaintindi ko is to lodge the EOI and may chance na mainvite even offshore..

So ewan. Hintay pa rin...

Hi! I am looking for discussions here on accepted vaccine brands from outside Australia. We are in the PH now haven't really started our application dahil hindi pa open ang border for international students. We are just concerned about the possibility of not being able to enter Australia dahil lang sa vaccine brand. In the PH we might get Sinovac jabs. Will this bring about challenges concerning our application? Hopefully may makasagot ng enquiry ko. Thank you very much!

    Hi @enzolira
