Hi everyone! March 2022 examinee here.
Just want to share my experience; give you an idea sa bagong examination type. This is quite lengthy.
First and most important, please don’t assume na just because multiple choices na, mas madali na. I was wrong there. Questions are far from basic. Situational, analysis. Worst of all, choices are tricky as well. Yung ang hirap na nga ng tanong, lilituhin kapa sa choices. Personally mas preferred ko pa yung previous exams na identification, enumeration, etc. Sakin lang ha.
Second, wag na po tayong umasa sa recalls. At least for now, since they’re continuously making changes with the examination pack. I’m sorry to tell you. Pero last march halos wala. I’d say 5-10% recalls lang. So if you do decide to take the exam, study well. And I mean well.
Histopath, this is the toughest subj for me (together with Chem) Maraming questions na kahit during college parang hindi naman naituro? naencounter. May item pa dun na photo of a tissue stained with H&E and you’ll have to identify the organ. Traumatic talaga haha.
Chem, lots of questions about spectro. Super unexpected. So maraming nadali sa chem sa march 2022 batch.
BB, may ab panel pero 1 pt lang lols. I think mas pabor ang BB sa may clinical experience talaga (same with hema). Maraming photos, then interpret.
Micro, halos lahat situational.
“A (gender/age) patient presents with (bla bla symptoms) then on examination (plate/biochem result) was shown. What is the organism.
So correlation. Analysis. But mas masasabi ko pang mas madali micro than the other 4 subjs. Ganun sila kahirap.
To summarize, I’d say the exam’s less on theory and more on experience. Goodluck po sating lahat 🥺 Praying for everyone’s success 🙏🏻
