    Based on the article.
    current visa backlog is 961,016
57,906 skilled workers seeking permanent visas
13,806 offshore visa applicants are seeking temporary visas

    Ang priority lang

pipiliin lang 60,000 permanent visa applications lodged by skilled workers based overseas as the federal government focuses its response on workforce shortages in health, education and aged care.

(189 and 190 -with nominated occupation sa health, education, and aged care)

    It looks promising…

“The former Government devalued immigration, with the visa application backlog increasing to nearly 1,000,000 on their watch. The Albanese Government is determined to reduce the backlog and restore the importance of the immigration function of our Government.” Minister Giles said.

The financial year only just started in July. The migration program from the previous government only ended in June. I don’t suppose it’s expected to see change in less than a month? Things are transitioning and it’s looking positive from the looks of it.

I believe yung pag-process nila ng visa backlog would take months. I mean, imagine, 1M yung backlog na iniwan ng previous government -- that's gonna take a while (ang sabi sa mga nabasa ko, maybe 3-4 months).

Ang worry ko lang are the invitations. Ang too much kasi if they're still going to do it quarterly, knowing that they have severe shortages. Dapat mas maging frequent yung invitation nila if they really want migrants aka revert to monthly.

Actually yung PMSOL nga parang ang useless!!! Ang dami ring nagsasabi niyan

all you have to do is be patient. given na maraming applicants and nasa backlog basket. and also, you cannot expect na kayo agad ang maiinvite. first - hindi lang mga pinoy ang applicants - if you will read the latest immigration report, may ibang nationalities who are leading the application. second - as mentioned above, FY has only just started. third - for sure, mas maraming applicants ang mataas ang points, so syempre uunahin sila. but this set of news is really promising - given that the current government will expedite the processing.

    so please be patient.

Nagaantay sila mainvite.

Mam Rhea, are they focusing on the lodged offshore visa na or kahit po yung submitted offshore pa lang? Kasi merun pong mga lodged na since 2021 pa po na waiting for approval. Then merun pong mga submitted, na waiting for invite since 2019.

It seems they are clearing the backlog particularly prioritising offshore. I’ve got colleagues whose clients got granted today. They lodged way back 2019!

Lodged offshore and submitted offshore - what’s the difference? Aren’t they the same. Sorry didn’t quite understand what you meant but I hope I answered it.

Sorry didn’t quite understand what you meant but I hope I answered it.

all you have to do is be patient. given na maraming applicants and nasa backlog basket. and also, you cannot expect na kayo agad ang maiinvite. first - hindi lang mga pinoy ang applicants - if you will read the latest immigration report, may ibang nationalities who are leading the application. second - as mentioned above, FY has only just started. third - for sure, mas maraming applicants ang mataas ang points, so syempre uunahin sila. but this set of news is really promising - given that the current government will expedite the processing.

    so please be patient.

Nagaantay sila mainvite.

Hmm…I think you’re getting things mixed up. EOI isn’t visa application yet. You don’t submit anything on EOI stage. What is being referred to all along is the visa application backlog. It has nothing to do with EOI.

Invitations are not manually selected. Skillselect is programmed to issue the invites. This will continue. I think you’re mixing up EOI and visa application. So bale you lodge your EOI then get an invite then within 60 days you submit your visa application….that’s where the backlog is. So they are clearing the close to a million backlog of cases waiting to be granted/refused a visa. It has nothing to do with EOI queue.

Hi Ma’m Rhea, you mentioned that invitations are not manually selected.. question po, is it true that in EOI submission, we must find a company that can give us a 2 year job offer before we can get an invite to 190 visa? So kung not manually selected pano po malalaman Ng skillselect kung May job offer or wala? Parang useless din kahit May job offer?. And how can we get an offer kung ayaw namn magbigay ng job mga company to overseas applicants?

Is granting of backlogs based on who lodged first or on who has more points? I understand Skillselect ranks points first then EOI second for each occupation. I don't know if it applies on backlogs as well.

Definitely not….once visa application is submitted, it’s all in the hands of the case officer. The length of time now all depends on the actual case and the workload of the case officer working on it.

EOI doesn’t impose this requirement, it’s more the nominating state you’re applying for. Each state/regional area has it’s own criteria.

Maam Rhea, pano po kaya yun? WA for example, requires one has a job offer, what if wala pero nainvite ng WA state? Ang hirap po kasi talaga makahanap ng work while offshore, and mostly ang hinahanap nila sa WA may working rights e..

That’s what we raised up in our roundhouse table meeting with the WA deputy premier when he came to London. That’s also our frustrations with other states/territory that requires such thing in their criteria - catch 22. 🤷‍♀️ - no choice, you’ll have to choose other state/territory unfortunately.

Tapos magrereklamo sila bakit wala silang workers. Weird talaga.
