Query re: Visa Application together with hubby

shaynetotshaynetot MandaluyongPosts: 186Member
Hi guys! I'm a newbie here. I came along this forum when I started googling about filipino accountants working in Australia. I am really interested in working in Australia as an accountant (my current work here in the Philippines is a bank examiner in a GOCC), together with my fiance who is a nurse here in the Philippines, and we both plan to migrate (PR) there when everything's fall into places.

We are planning to get married earlier next year (around May 2015), after which I will take IELTS and apply for 189 Visa for both of us. Is it possible that I'm the only who's going to take IELTS (hopefully, I get a 7 for each component :) ) and yet get both of our 189 Visa approved? I'm a little bit confused din po kasi I read some threads wherein some of the couples are required by the CO to submit the IELTS results of their respective hubbies, while some were not.

Thank you so much po, and looking forward to your replies! More power to this forum!

Yes yung main applicant lang nman need mag IELTS. unless need mo kumuha ng additional points for spouse. Otherwise, pwede na sa spouse yung certification lang from school registrar na english ang medium of instructions. may format na sila neto

@vhoythoy : Thank you po, Sir Vhoythoy! I have an additional query po. Pwede po bang simultaneous gawin ung application for visa at the same time job hunting online for vacancies in Australia? or usually po ba, companies in Au need to be assured first na may visa na ang mga applicants? Thank you po ulit! More power to you, Sir! :)

Tingin ko pwede naman. 457 yata visa for temporary worker. Pero who knows. The best is get permanent visa first para mas maging madali ang lahat.

yup. 189 pwede ka tumira and magwork kahit saan parte ng australia without restrictions. 190 naman permanent visa din pero state sponsor may additional 5 points kasi yun pero restricted ka to stay sa sponsoring state for 2 years. Although may mga ibang hindi naman nacomplete ang 2 years requirements for some reasons. Apply ka muna permanent visa at medyo nagkakahigpitan ngaun. Work is just a part of migration and Its a big decision to make. Because if priority mo lang work/ to earn money, then you can choose other countries na may mas malaking financial/ career rewards like hongkong, sg, uk, us, middle east, etc. Goodluck

hi @shaynetot. take it one at a time. IELTS ka muna while preparing your documents for assessment. after, receiving a positive assessment, sunod-sunod na yan. based sa mga nababasa ka, preferred ng AU employers na nandun ka na. way back then nag try ako mag apply sa seek.com.au, hehe. pero yun nga, required nila na meron ka legal right to work their. hope this helps and God bless. :D
