Paraan sa paghanap ng trabaho

edited April 2014 in Working in Australia

Make sure up to date ang resume ninyo at dapat In Australia resume format ang gamitin. You can search as well lahat ng recruitment agency web site at mag sign up din doon. For example http://www.hays.com.au para ma notify kayo kapag may opening sa skills ninyo.

II. INVITE (Optional) – Dito napaka-importante ang http://www.linkedin.com. its like inviting all Agent, Directors and Human resource manager to view your Resume for job possibilities. Lagyan ng “looking for a career” at can start immediately or similar sentence sa Linkedin ninyo para mabasa agad na you’re looking for work. Isipin nyo na you’re marketing you’re skills using linkedin. If your looking for work optional is better not to add your present officemate sa linkedin. Staka nyo na lang sila i add kapag lumipat na kayo ng ibang company. http://www.linkedin.com is like a facebook everyone can see. Remind ko pala nasa google search ang name ninyo kapag may account kayo sa linked kaya important to check your linkedin setting kasi in public na pangalan ninyo.

III. Type key words of your skills in ‘”What” box, select 100 or 200kms in “Whitin” box and type your location in “where” search box. Syanga pala as much as possible at least 2 to 3 pages ang resume ninyo. 2 pages of resume is better.

IV. INQUIRE (Optional) – I called it as a last option to find job. Do the No. 3 SIGN UP Instruction. Who knows baka matyempuhan ninyo. Kapag nagpadala kayo ng Thursday baka wala silang time to read your email til Friday. Most companies are using Microsoft outlook. Take note you can do the inquiry one time only sa company. Puede nyo ulitin after more than one year or two years.

For Job interview:
Ito pa funny but its true may nagsabi sa akin. Yung first time nila maghanap ng work. I'm not promoting this pero ang lesson dito ay kailangan may strategy at diskarte.

Hint:
1. Prayer
2. Honest
3. Confident
4. Sit up straight
5. Good English speaking (mag-practice ng tamang australia english accent)
6. Kung anung tanung yun ang sagot
7. Kailangan tuloy tuloy lang ang sagot at kapag sinabi fair enough or alright dapat stop agad.
8. Say you’re good and why

Interview sa mga without local experience at applying for first job only (These are optional)
1. (Optional) - tell them they can terminate you after probationary period if they are not satisfied with your work performance.
2. (Optional) – You can accept kung magkano ang salary na nararapat sayo.
3. For example interview applying for mech’l engineer. The theory of mech’l engineering is the same wherever you go. My advantage is, I was able to practice it in another part of world and apply what I learned from there to my new workplace. It is an added bonus to the company that I’m going to work for in the future.

Note:
This is in No way legal advice. It is simply based on what i learned from my experience in finding work.

Another way din to maximise your searching for work. Job searching is like Marketing your business. Some Recruitment Agency will invite you for interview in their office for future possibilities. :D cheers. God bless

Hi.

I'm expecting on May simula na yan ng hiring

Minsan nmn naiisip ko na lang magapply as cleaner or helper kumita lang ng konti.
Hanggat maaari applyan mo yung skills mo.

Di naman basta allowed ka to work.

But big factor kasi kapag may PR visa ka.

Kht nandito nako melbourne.
I guess kung anu ang skill mo ngayun yun ang applyan mo kasi you have experience on that. Sa interview staka mo sabihin na your interested to switch to design in the future if you have given a chance. May employee evaluation naman every year eh. So you can say to them kung anu ang gusto mo in the future.

If your interested talaga. You have to take part time study sa design. But Bit by bit muna mag start ka muna kung anu yung work experience mo ngayun. Then to be follow kung anu man ang gusto mo in the future.

Basahin mo paulit ulit yung binigay ko na advise to look for work. If you need to talk for more information Just PM me and I'll give you a call. God bless

    @TotoyOZresident,

Thank you sir sa concern. This week sana may tumawag, kahit 1 lang. Hirap pa neto ang hirap magenglish, nauutal ako hehehe.

Hello @TotoyOZresident and sa lahat ng members ng forum:) maraming salamat sa very helpful info na ito TotoyOZresident. Would it be possible for u to send me a copy of the Australian resume format na nabanggit mo sa post mong ito. I'm not aware that there is a specific resume format in Au. I'm actually a newbie here but i have been granted a subclass 190 visa
Dec 2013. I've been sending applications online way before the visa grant, mainly thru seek.com, and have not received any positive feedback yet. A few friends told me na di maganda ang market jan specifically for engineering where my line of is in. Kaya hesitant akong magresign from my work here in singapore and I have until november of this yr to make my first entry in AU. Some friends advise me to not resign yet until im sure of a job then just have a 1 or 2-week vacation in Au sometime august or september bago mag holiday mood and mga aussies just to test the waters. My agent told me to go take the risk at pumunta jan sa au kahit walang trabahong sigurado. Sabe nya, makakahanap naman daw ako for sure--kahit temporarily e di in line sa trabaho ko. My agent also said that anong good ng visa mo kundi ka agad pupunta dito sa Australia. Hindi pa rin ako makadecide on what to do. Im afraid na maubos ko lang yung ipon ko para makipagsapalaran jan sa Au without a sure source of income. On the other hand, i really want to go there now and escape my very stressful working environment here in singapore. I hope you guys can give me so insights on this. Many thanks!!

hi Seraph, i had the same dilemma as you 3 years ago. Ang gnawa ko ndi ko ginive up muna ang PR ko sa SG and I decided to give it a try here for 2 months at kung walang mangyari babalik ako ng SG eventhough I alreadyy resigned from my job,, matter of fact ay returned ticket ung binili ko non. Luckily after 3 wks of stay here my nahanap nman ako na work Yes, what your friends are saying is true na medyo mahirap ung job market ngayon dto. Anong field mo po sa engineering? Dito kami sa Melbourne, and they say its the manufacturing capital of Aus, but sad to say too many job losses happening specially nung nag announce ung 3 big car makers na they will cease their mfng here, sabi nga sa news eh its about 40 job losses/day at Victoria alone and not much jobs are being created. Added pa na competition is getting tougher na din because of many immigrants coming from UK, China and India as well. My foremer manager from SG, he and the family moved to Brisbane Feb of last year and last time na nakausap ko sya wala padn daw syang work (I think that was Nov), lucky ung wife nya is IT at nagka work agad.

Maybe you give it a try for 1-2 months but be prepared financially since my kamahalan ang cost of living specially if u dont have relatives or friends na matutuluyan like my case,

May mga nag o-odd jobs muna para lang maka survive or nag start as entry jobs or totally not related a field nila, maybe you can try doing those while looking for a job n tlagang sa field mo.

Malaking tulong din yung job referral, maybe your friends can refer you to their managers. Ung sales analyst nmin na Iranian she was looking for a job for almost a year, wala syang local experience and d pa ganon ka fluent sa English at dependent visa sya (husband used to be on student visa studying Phd ), nataon n friend nya ung QA manager nmin at nag resign ung analyst, ayun na i-refer sya Operation mngr at na hire nman sya.

    @happyinmelbourne34,

    Hi.
Would you say mahirap talaga makakuha ng slot ung mga dependant visa lang ang hawak like me na walang local experience at mejo hirap magenglish? ano maipapayo mo skn? hindi ako makapag-apply ng any PR visa kc hindi pa tpos ang EA assessment ko at kht matapos un hindi pa din ako aabot sa 60points dhil 6.5 lang ang writing ko sa ielts so wlang points to make it to 60points. hay. masyado ba ako nagmadali pumunta dito? it has been 1.5 months na nandito ako melbourne and yet ni 1 call sa mga inapplyan ko walang tumatawag. this week palang ako nagstart magapply ng odd job tgnan ko in this case kung papalarin ako kht pangtawid lang ng gutom.

usual na hnhnap ng mga employers seek.com eh PR ka. which i do not hav. malamang next year pako ma-pr didikit ulit sa partner ko kapag nag-apply na sya. hay. pakiramdam ko nakalutang lang status ko d2. nalulungkot lang ako. hindi ndn aq mkblik ng pinas kc syempre alam mo na...

457 visa - dependant type hawak ko. should i ask kapag nag-aapply ako sa mga employer kung cno willing sa kanila magsponsor ng visa kht 457 pdn pero at least ako na ang primary applicant? possible kaya un? i can take again ielts exam here pero ang sbi ng partner ko mahihirapan ndaw ako maka7.0 across dhl mataas ang expectation d2.

nagmadali b tlga ako pmunta d2?

hi lester, sa tingin ko nman hindi hindrance unng dependent visa as long as eligible ka na mag-work and swak ung credentials mo sa hinahanap ng company.

Cguro tlaga lang mahirap ung job market ngayon but hopefully mag pick up ulit. Tyaga tyaga lang tlaga sa pag-aaply :). I know someone na 457 sya then ung wife as dependent nakapasok nman ng work as cleaner sa 1 shopping mall here sa southeast though di ko lang sure kung sya ay ni-refer or nag apply ng sarili nya.

Habang nagapply ka sa field mo, kuha k ng forklift training para magka license ka yan ang tingin ko medyo madaling makahanap ng work as order picker or warehouse storeman ok dn ang sweldo ng mga ito. Sa company na pinapasukan ko they earn 25-30/hr (or even more) pero matatagal n cla sa company tipong 10-20yrs+ plus na meron pa nga 30yrs na . Dami kcng mga warehouses dto and yan ang business model trend, since mataas ang mfng cost, they tend to import and build warehouses na lang to store products. Although di ko lang sure kung magkano ung fee sa gantong courses, mostly kc govt funded pag citizen at PR maliit lang ang bnabayaran not sure as 457 dependent kung magkano. Dami kming nadadaanan sa mall na booth na ganyan and they say they will train and refer you to jobs once you obtain the license.

    @happyinmelbourne34,

    hi lester,

you're welcome! yup, warehousing ang medyo daming opportunities though required mostly ng forklift license. Ung warehouse supervisor nmin na retrench sya but in matter of 1-2 wks nakahanap agad ng work. Melbourne's port is the busiest port in Au in terms of container and cargo load, kaya medyo mdaming warehousing/transport-logistics jobs.

    May driver's license k n b?
I think in terms of duct cleaner or air filter service technician tingin ko medyo dami kang ka compete dto un tinatawag nilang mga "tradies".

Tama wag kang susuko, dadating dn ung tamang opportunity for you as maintenance engr, importante nandito ka na :) and basta nman mgka local experience ka madali na lang dn lumipat.

    @happyinmelbourne34,

    hi.

Ung ibang jobs required nila na marunong kang magdrive or own a transpo. Nung nag appply p lang ako ng trabaho dto , ang lalayo ng mga factories, and laging tanong sa kin if may sarili daw ba kong transpo, nung una sinabi ko na wala pa kc d nman tlaga ko marunong mag drive nung dumating ako dto, ayun need daw nila ng may sasakyan kc nga not accessible by public transpo ung lugar.
