Why the preference for Skilled Couples is rational?

FY Planning Level is the total planned migrant intake for the FY.

For example for coming FY2024-25, planning Level for Subclass 189 is 16,900 places.

An EOI can consist of multiple applicants: Primary, Secondary and Children. When a visa is granted, all applicants contained in the application get a grant, and each applicant consumes one planning level spot.

Why do Skilled Partners offer the best deal?

Take a family of 2 (primary + secondary)

• Unskilled Partner: If secondary partner is unskilled, then you only get 1 skilled person for every 2 planning level places used (50% efficiency)

• Single Applicant: If primary applicant is single, then in future he/she will marry. Looking at trends and patterns around us, we can assume that a typical single migrant to AU has a 50% probability of marrying a skilled partner. Therefore we get 1.5 skilled people for every 2 planning level spots used (75% efficiency)

• AU Citizen/PR Partner: Whether the partner is skilled or unskilled, it doesnt matter since they are AU Citizen/PR Parnter. Therefore a grant in this case will always consume 1 planning spot (100% efficiency)

• Skilled Partner: You get 2 skilled people for 2 planning levels consumed (100% efficiency). From a life time outcomes perspective (and my own research), skilled couples offers an even better deal than having an AU partner, even though both have 100% efficiency in planning level use.

Therefore, the ranking in terms of efficient use of planning level places is:

⚡️ Skilled Couples > AU Partner > Single > Unskilled Partner.

Hello po. Planning na po kasi kami magpakasal ng partner ko. Kunyari po mainvite po ako for 189/190 after kami makasal and nachange na po yung name ko, magkakaron po ba ng conflict if maiden name yung nakalagay sa skills assessment, pte and eoi ko?

Generally wala naman issue with that.

You can update your EOI particulars as soon as you have the updated details. There is no need to worry about your name in your degree certificates, skills assessment, PTE etc. as those are evidence of you as a single and before your changed name.

Lastly don't forget to update your married.

Pero dapat siguro, may psa marriage contract ka na. Para solid yung claim mo to change your name. Dito satin, 3 to 6months ata para marecord sa psa yung kasal. Malapit pa naman na ang new fy, and possible by aug may state invitation na ulit so dapat updated ang eoi mo to avoid any conflict kasi pati points mo mababago when you are married. Baka may mas makasagot dito na same experience mo. Thoughts ko lang to.

this has also been asked recently. (see page 460 of this thread)

to add, imo, its better if you have the same documents right from the start to avoid confusion. although hindi rin naman sya magiging major problem, pero ayun nga magiging additional isipin mo/nyo sya.

as pointed out by @_sebodemacho: Kasi you won't be allowed to wed after an invite, since your points are based on your previous status as de facto relationship. Though, you can notify DHA about it, but personally, mas piliin ko na yung sureball which is, getting married before any invite, plantsado na lahat. Also, at least I can tell myself that my life is not halted by all this waiting game. 🙂

Hello po ulit. May question lang po ulit ako.

June 16, 2024: Visa lodge

June 19, 2024: appeared for medical exam, 3-5days yung result.

June 20, 2024: naka receive po ako ng s56 na hinihingi yung medical ko.

Intayin ko lang po ba na magreflect yung result sa Immiaccount ko po? Since 3-5days pa yung result?
Paano ko po sila mainform pag nagreflect na yung medical result sa immiaccount?

Upload mo receipt muna and explanation letter that it usually takes 3-5days to finish medical readings. Priority occupation po sila?

May nakalagay din po pala na may 28days po to attach yung needed files. Iattach ko na po agad yung receipt at letter or kahit po mag intay ako next week na magreflect sa account ko yung result ng medical po?

Pwede mo na iattach yung receipt as supporting docs lang, and proof na done ka na sa part mo. Yung medical results kasi wala ka talagang control, so yung facility na bahala magupdate nun. Magrreflect naman yan matic sa lodgement mo pag tapos na sila.

Employment references/letter, paid employment evidences (eg: payslips, ITR, bank statements), University Diploma, NBI, Overseas Police Clearance if applicable, skills assessment result, PTE/IELTS result.

If claiming points for partner skills and english, same as last 2 above + marriage cert if married, if de facto -- 4 pillars and a lot of supporting docs.
