General Skilled Immigration Visa - Step By Step Process

Hi to all, I need your good advise. I'm a Civil Engineer here in Philippines.

Employment history:
Jan2020 to Oct2021 - With COE and payslip but no SSS, Pag ibig, Philhealth Contribution.
Oct2021 to Nov2024 - With complete employment documents required.
Nov2024 to Present - On going request of employment documents.

My question is, can I still include my first job for the assessment? Would it still be accepted by EA if not? Any tips po sana. Thank you.

Hi everyone,

I would like to ask if anyone has successfully migrated to Australia with a similar background to mine.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (not a licensed engineer) and am currently residing in Thailand. I have a total of 11.5 years of professional experience, including:

• 7 years in Construction Management, currently serving as an Assistant Project Director
• 1.5 years as an Assistant Building Manager
• 3 years as a Quantity, Cost & Specification Engineer / Project Coordinator

Given my qualifications and work experience, would I still qualify for a skills assessment for a Skilled Migration Visa (Subclass 189)?

I would greatly appreciate any insights or advice from those who have gone through a similar process.

No mention of age and university so can’t really fully gauge but generally, you don’t need to be licensed to pass the skills assessment. You just need to either have obtained your qualification from a section 1 university or have passed the PRC exam. Hope that helps

I am 37 years old and graduated from Bulacan State University in 2010. Based on my work experience, could you please advise whether I should apply for a skills assessment as a Civil Engineering Technician (ANZSCO 312212) or as a Construction Project Manager (ANZSCO 133111)?

My concern is that if I choose Construction Project Manager, I do not have any formal training, certifications, or a master's degree related to project and construction management. Would this affect my assessment?

I would also like to ask about my wife. She holds a Diploma in Teaching Education and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Does she also need to undergo a skills assessment? We are applying for 189

Alex43 you will need to base your decision on the tasks defined by ANZSCO. Choose the one that best resonates your experience. I always leave this part for my clients to decide on as I believe no one else knows better than the actual applicant. Once they decide on the occupation, we can then guide them further.

Re 189, too early to decide what visa to apply for. At this stage, just be open that you may be eligible for 189,190 or 491. Unfortunately, the visa isn’t for us to decide since it’s whatever you get invited for at the end of the day.

Hello po, I want to ask lang po sa mga recently invited/granted. My husband's qualification has been assessed as not closely related so ACS deducted 6yrs of exp. I read from here a few years ago na nagclaim pa rin ng points na dineduct ni ACS as long as hindi NSW yung state. Is it still the same this year? Thank you po sa makakasagot. 🙏

abbylava what you read here a few yrs ago may be outdated and no longer applies. every fiscal year nagbabago migration rules, so it's better to check all free resources online.

during my time (2023), I didn't claim what was deducted by ACS.
