In my experience, supermarkets restock on Fridays, so every Thursday is kind of like a clearance sale. 🙂 YMMV. I heard some stores clear on Mondays.
Don't assume that things are cheaper at the market and in neigbourhood shops. Research if you have time.

OP SHOPS!!! "Op" stands for "opportunity". It's mainly secondhand stuff, but the quality is usually very good. Chalk it up to fickle or fast-growing locals + heaps of international students coming and going + wasteful fashion industry (or retail industry in general). Plus, you get an extra discount if you donate your own old/unwanted stuff.

Like yesterday we was looking for a air cooler ( fan with water )

went to bing lee .. it says 140$

went to Harvey Norma .. None

went to Good guys .. found the same model they were giving it for 128$

went back to Bing lee ... tell them Good Guys were selling them for 128$ .. we got it for 126$

so its a 14$ saving ...

Actually we have a lot of experience for this one ... ( a camera and a 46inc LED TV ) so lagi kong sinasabi shop around and prepare to walk away if they did not give you the price you want

Para po sa mga papunta palang, if you have multiple gadgets from PH or Asia, suggestion po to bring a multi-port extension para you only need one universal adapter and can charge all your gadgets at a time, medyo pricey din kasi cheapest we found was $10 each for a universal power adapter.

@TasBurrfoot Ask lang regarding Credit Card. May CC na kayo ni wifey mo dyan sa Oz? Ano recommended mo na nakakapag earn ng points/miles? Kami ni hubby, laki ng pakinabang sa Citi and BPI card dito. Necessity lang talaga ang purchase namin sa credit card pero madaming promos and rebates akong napapakinabangan :-) Pa share naman po para may idea na. Thanks!

@johnvangie - we have a credit card pero Coles Mastercard lang and yung free pa. Thing here is that binabayaran kasi ang credit card if you get those with miles, points, etc... At more than $100/yr, di na...

I am sure there are other no fee credit cards but happy na kami dito sa Coles Mastercard namin; it earns points which you can redeem in your Coles Outlet.

@TasBurrfoot Thanks very much. Maganda nga kun sa supermarket pwede ma redeem ang points. Ang BPI dito, sa bill ko ginagamit ang pag redeem ng points :-)

^anong ID ang binigay nyo sa Coles? Nagaapply ako for that credit card para sa 50AUD na voucher hahaha til now kase need ko magprovide ng ID (other than NSW license and medicare)
