Go to Philippines on May passport expire on June

I am going home to Philippines for my annual holiday on May 2013, but my passport will expire on June 2013. I called the consul office they said there is no passport validity when returning to your own country. I'm planning to renew my passport immediately when I get to the Philippines. Will be back to Australia on May 24. Do you think I will encounter a problem during my travel to the Philippines. My flight will be from Perth - Kuala Lumpur - Manila. Thanks.

you definitely will have problems; countries normally do not allow allow with passport validity less than 6 months; whilst it is true that walang bearing ang passport validity when returning to your own country, paano pagpasok mo sa KL? i assume you are taking air asia x right? immigration in KL may prevent you from entering KL with passport validity at only 1 month.

also, how long is your vacation in the philippines? i don't think renewing is going to take just a few day, parang matagal ata bago ka mabigyan ng passport.

why don't you renew it there nalang whilst you still have 2 months? friendly suggestion... 🙂

@psychoboy Yap, alright. I will renew it nalang here inAustralia. Kaya lang sa May 29 pa yung passport ma rerenew at two months pa before makuha. So, May-July pa ang papalipasin ko. August na ako makaka bakasyon nyan. Thanks sa advice, tama ang tanong, papano nga makakapasok sa KL. Thanks. Tanong ko din, Dadaan ba ng Immigration sa KL kung lilipat lang eroplano? Thanks

Depends - it is best to check your airline on this...

However, the fact remains na problema yang passport mo ngayon. Usually kasi useless na ang passport kapag less than 6 months nalang ang validity. Try to renew that asap irregardless of whether uuwi ka or hindi. Can't you do it earlier ba than May?

Renew sa Pinas may not be an option as limited lang din yung oras mo dito...

How about passport extension; do they still offer that? My brother requested this before and he was given 2 yrs.

@psychoboy Sa May pa pupunta dito sa Perth yung magpapa renew ng passport. They will be here on May 29-June 1 else pupunta ako ng Canberra. Mahal ang pamasahe at wala oras para pumunta pa ng Canberra.

Kung hindi naman dadaan ng Immigration sa Malaysia para lumipat lang ng Eroplano, I will take the risk. I will ask again the Travel Agency about this matter or I will call the Canberra Phil Consulate. What do you think? Thanks

May rush passport renewal naman yata sa DFA, one day lang kuha na. Thanks

Hi.. you can ask for a travel document sa phil consulate.. but yung airlines na pwede lang are pal, qantas, jetstar ( if sydney-darwin-manila). 🙂

Hi, I called the consulate and they just said no passport validity when returning to your own country. so malamang walang problema kapag pauwi ka ng sariling mong bansa.

Passport Processing

All new or renewal of Passports are now issued only in the Philippines and mailed back to you in Australia. The only part of the process that an applicant completes in Australia is to attend personally when the Mobile Passport Team next visits Perth, for the taking of photo and fingerprints. You may send the completed application for the new Epassport now to Canberra.

The Mobile Passport Team with the equipment for photo and fingerprint processing will be next visiting Perth on 29 May to 1 June 2013,

maraming gumawa nyan , umuwi ng pinas tapos inisip na dun na lang mag pa-renew..

ang problema, nasira ang printing machine ng passport sa pinas..

nadelay ang mga nagtratravel... delayed not days.. but several weeks..

im sure not hindi nmn ito mang-yayari ulit, but better safe than sorry...

kaya nmn, importante na i-renew ang passport habang maaga pa..

un lang.. lol..

hi guys, i was reading this thread as I was exactly on the same situation. I am on a 457 visa with passport expiring on June 2013 and going back for holiday to Philippines on May (for a month). There is just one thing which added more complications on my situation, as I have waiting for my visa decision for ENS 186 which until now eh wala pa din update. I called DIAC for timeframe and they can't tell me any time frame allocation, they just told me that standard processing takes 5 - 7 months. I am on my 5th month waiting since I lodge my visa app. So I am expecting at least until April 2013 to get a decision.

Should I renew my passport now here in Australia or wait for the visa decision till April and renew it on Manila? Any advise guys?

What is stopping you ba from renewing your visa? Better do it now as good as worthless na visa mo in terms of travelling as it is less than 6months nalang.

Hassle if you do it sa Philippines - it can take 7 working days for a rush processing. Instead of enjoying your hols, pupunta ka pa sa DFA to apply then kunin yung passport mo. And as mentioned by @lock_code2004, what if masirap ang machine to print these visa diba or naubusan ng materials. Knowing the inefficiencies of our country, hindi ito malayo na mangyari...

I suggest you do it ASAP to avoid any problems...

@mykdspyk - i suggest, renew your passport, send "change of passport details" to DIAC for your PR visa application..

dumating ang PR visa mo before/after your vacation.... you have nothing to worry about..

for change of passport details should i use the 1022 or 929? Weird kasi according sa immi website it should be 929, pero pag naglogin ako sa online application system nila meron dun link to change passport details it navigates me to form 1022. confusing!

hi, i hope may magreply sa akin since feb 19 p yung last post. here is our situation, vacation ng husband ko this december 2013, his passport expires on april 2014 which is less than 6months about to expire from the date of his departure from perth. he tried to submit application form to consular office, but to find our that the consular office didnt receive his application, and so hindi sya umabot s cut-off. he was then advised to go to Cranberra to renew, e mgastos so we look for another option. nalaman ng husbank ko na pwede pala yung travel document ang dala mo and yun ipapakita mo instead of passport.

may question is pwede ba sya lumabas ng singapore (flight nya kasi perth-singapore-manila) for example three nights before heading back to manila?

Try to call the consular office if they can extend the validity pero for green passport lang sya applicable, kung brown passport na po di na puede, pero you can still inquire kung puede pa iextend.

I'm not sure kung papalabasin pa sya ng Australia dahil less than 6mths, and same sa Singapore kung papasukin pa sya dahil less than 6 months na lang, mas lalo na sa Pilipinas kung makapasok man sya, baka i hold sya palabas.

As far as I know pwede naman makalabas sa Australia kung may dala na travel document however this is only applicable if diretso sya sa Pinas... Definitely with this lang and a passport validity of less than 6 months, hindi sya makapasok sa Singapore nito.

@Santiago_Vargas_24 you can not come back to australia. Yang ang issue nyan. And i doubt may 1 day passport processing. Sabi lng nila yan pero like me 4-5 weeks pa rin. Walang problem going home to pinas. It is entering or exiting in another country.

6 months validity dapat ang visa when travelling unless uwi ka na ng pinas without going out again.
