@jimbob, if sa EA website mo sya nakuha and yan ang naka-state sa nadownload mo na booklet then 6 pa din ang required IELTS score. 🙂 But I suggest you aim for at least 8 in all skills para mas mataas ang makuha mong points pag nagpasa ka na sa DIAC. Zero points kapag nakakuha ka ng 6 in any of the skills.

@JClem, oo band8 ang aim ko. 176 visa ang kukunin ko kaya kahit band6 (huwag naman sana) ay ok na un kc sa state sponsorship, band6 din ang min IELSTS score. Thank you...

Nakalagay po sa EA booklet na either GT or Acad ay pwede as long as you can attain the minimum 6.0 in each band. Kaya naman GT ang kinukuha ng majority kasi po sa DIAC ang required sa mga enginEers mostly ay GT. Kaya para isang beses na lang mag IELTS, GT na ang kinuha nila. Goodluck!

HOly Cow, EA is asking for money again if you want your overseas work experience be assessed by them. And its kind of mandatory since DIAC will based on EA's assessment. Now I have to send my skill assessment again 🙁

@tobenhood, i beg to disagree, i also got my positive EA skills assessment and i emailed engineers australia whether it is mandatory to assess the overseas work experience and she replied that it isn't. it's up to us if we want to avail the additional services. tsaka ang sabi naman, it is DIAC that is going to decide on the points.

me tinanungan ka ba about jan? kc if ever the processing is another 12 weeks diba?

@unanimous21 , not compulsory but somehow its implied that DIAC will honor the assessing authorities opinion:

"Your relevant Assessing Authority which undertook your skills assessment may also provide an opinion on your skilled employment experience. The department will consider the Assessing Authority’s opinion when awarding points."

Tanong ko lang po regarding sa documentd required for EA... Di kelangan na red ribbon certified ng DFA ung diploma,transcript,etc. Tama po ba? Basta notarized ng notary public yung copy ng original document oks na yun?

Red Ribbon i remember is required when your going to Middle EASt. So far on my Skill Assessment my docs were just notarized but you should provide the contact numbers and licenses whatever blah blah on the stamp.

@tobenhood, yes exactly. r u still gonna send back ur positive skills assessment to EA? that means another 100+ bucks plus courier fee. plus correct me if i am wrong, another 12 weeks ang processing diba? ako kc i opted not kc me state sponsorship na ako sa WA and i am obliged to lodge visa within three months. also, confident naman na ako sa lenght of work experience ko. tnx

Isa pa pong katanungan, pasensya na nakaklito tlga... Dapat po ba 2 pcs yung certified copies ng documents na ipi-prepare ko for the whole process? One for skill assessment and the other for the lodging of application? Thnx po

@brent Really up to you kung 2 copies. The thing is you can use the other copies for consistency.

@unanimous21, medyo kakapusin ako sa 5 years 4 plus palang experience ewan ko lang kung pde isama yong OJT ko na 5 months. Meron na rin ako SS sa SA kaso pag doubtful ako manigurado nalang sa 475. Hirap kasi pag Section 2 ang school, di natin alam kung 15 or 10 makukuha.

kelan ka nag apply for skills assessment and when u got the result? kasi ako, i applied in June then i got the result in Oct 14. Sa skills assessment ko, kasama na dun ung sa education qualification ko. I also came from a section 2 university but EA assessed it as comparable to Australian Bachelor's degree kaya i can claim 15 points for that. Baket SA ka nag-apply? saken ung SS ko sa WA (Perth) ang bilis ng result. 7 days lang. by the way, u didn't answer any of my questions, re: (1) r u sending back ur skills assessment result, and (2) do u know the lead time? thanks

No point of sending back to EA coz my experience did not reach 5 years.
Not clearly stated on EA about the turn around time but basically it could be 12 weeks max.

BTW eto nakalagay sa assessment ko, i dont know kung same sayo.

"I am pleased to advise that the compentencies you have demonstrated taken in conjunction with your qualifications from ( school ) awarded in ( date ) have been assessed as meeting the current

academic requirement for standing as a Professional Engineer Skill Level 1 in Australia"

yup, same but after that, there is another paragraph stating "your above qualification has been assessed as broadly comparable to an Australian Bachelor degree for the purposes of awarding points for qualification under the General Skilled Migration points test. "

Sana naman kahit hindi ka umabot ng 5 yrs, umabot ka ng 65 points. Aq hopefully posivite with the below points:

Age - 30 yrs old
IELTS - OBS 8 (pero me 7.5 aq sa speaking)
Education - Bachelors Degree
Work experience - 5 yrs +
State Sponsorship with WA granted

I am currently collating my documents and waiting for my fiancee's IELTS. she's gonna sit in December 3. 😉

@unanimous21 i received my result last March 2011, i think the changed in the point system had triggered EA to change their assessment statements. wala sa akin ganyan eh. Sobra na ata score mo brad. 🙂

@unanimous, mukhang iba na nga ang nakasulat sa EA letter nyo. Same samin ni @tobenhood yung naka-state sa letter. I got mine nun May 2011 na luma pa ang application guidelines. But anyway, @tobenhood I believe kahit level 2 ang school mo if nakakuha ka naman ng Skill Level 1, you don't need to submit another application for EA assessment.

For the information of everyone, I emailed EA last night about the degree equivalent issue.

Its confirmed another 80dollars para mabigyan tayo nang new copy of assessment with updated body of the letter.

Hello, halimbawa po ay nakapasa na ng IELTS, dapat ba ipa certified true copy ang result then isasama sa other docuements for EA assessment? meron kc nagsabi na dapat ang agency kung saan ka nag take ng IELTS ang magpapadala sa EA, tama po ba ito? Paano po ang sa State sponsorship copy at sa DIAC?

@jimbob no need to certify ung IELTS result.tama po, kung saan ka nagtake ng IELTS mo (either IDP or British Council)dun ka mag request na ipadala ung result mo sa EA through courier or ordinary post.
