Hello. Nagrresearch na ako para sa BM habang naghihintay ng 489 visa grant. Baka po meron makapagshare ng list of monthly expenses and budget sa SA. May ganitong thread sa ibang sub-forum kaso madalang yung posts about SA kaya nagstart ako ng thread dito. TIA.

@BrizyFilo Ano yung accommodations na pasok sa budget na yan? Room sharing or sariling studio flat na?

@maguero Flat sharing with 1 flatmate yan within 5KM from the city, or sariling studio flat 10KM from the city.

Most likely

$800-$1200 = Accom include bills and wifi (The more flatmate you have the cheaper the cost)
$400-600 = Food (Cheaper if lagi kang magluluto, sa budget na to kasama na 1-2X na kain sa labas)
$100-$150 = Transpo - depende sa zoning ng work-home mo
$70-$150 = Insurance- Again depende sa Insurance provider m and cover. (with extras vs hospital only)
$100-$200 = Misc & other expenses
$30-$80 = Mobile data plan (Depende sa package mo, SIM only plan is far cheaper)

Total: Appox. $1500 - $2230 per month

We found our unit (apartment) at camden park, its near my husband’s workplace.
Basic family cover under bupa
Optus. Prepaid plan 30 lang pala yung akin sa husband ko ang 40. Just got my new sim last week. For the 30, it includes 10 gig data and unli calls and text within Au, with $5 credit good for 28 days. Plus with 25 gig bonus for the first 3 recharge. There is also data and credit rollover when you recharge before expiry.

@chococrinkle Naka-1 month na po ba kayo sa SA? Ano ang mga initial impressions mo sa lugar? Para lang magka-idea kami what to expect. Medyo OT nga lang dito.

@maguero Hi! Naka vacation mode pa din kami ng mga kids dito sa Sydney. Sunday pa kami lipad to adl, si husband pa lang nauna. Mag update ako once nandun na kami. :-)
