@Noodles12 Hello! Actually may ticket na ako this Friday nung wala pa ako work, sabi ko try ko ulit sa January, pero hindi ko tinuloy hehe. Yung sumunod na week, nagkawork ako. Ngayon next phase na nga at house hunting. May gusto ako na townhouse na bago umuwi sa company shutdown, malagyan ko na gamit para pag dating ng mag ina ko dito may titirahan na kami. Nakakahiya na rin kasi dito sa tinutuluyan ko mag 2 buwan na ako sa kanila hehe.

When I was searching for a house ang cinonsider ko is dapat medyo walking distance sa school or at least sa bus stop na papunta sa school. Yun kasi ang mahirap sa mga anak or sa mag hahatid kung araw araw malayo ang lalakarin lalo na pag summer at winter.

Kapag may nakuha ka na place inspect mo maigi yung mga defects at picturan mo hangat maari at inform sa landlord or agent para incase na lilipat kayo eh hindi sabihing kayo nakasira etc. kasi ibabawas sa bond niyo yun.

Family of 3 BM in mid 2020, how challenging is house/unit hunting po ?
Looking at SE suburbs kami Narre Warren or Berwick.

Salamat po sa magbibigay ng info and experiences nila. Regards.
Not sure po sa lugar niyo pero share ko nalang din po experience ko here in Sydney.
Dumating ako dito first week of January this year, nakahanap lang po ako ng temporary room na mapag stayan habang nag hahanap ng permanent house to stay. Yung room po is from a Filo family din na nakausap ko from pinoy au syndey group sa FB.
Sa pag hahanap naman po ng place ang cinonsider ko talaga is yung walking distance sa school. Sa Domain.com.au at realestate.com.au lang ako nga hahanap. Basta submit lang ako ng submit ng inspection, then apply for tenancy. Madaming beses ako na denied, usually mga reason is wala akong credit history at wala pa ako work that time. Ang proof na pinapasa ko lang is bank statement at letter of intent na sinasabi ko na may enough funds ako to sustain the rent for N number of months.
Luckily na approve naman ako kahit malayo sa work pero at least medyo malapit sa school ng anak ko since sila kasi mahihirapan talaga sa pag lalakad araw araw. Ilang araw ako na natulog sa sahig at kumain sa sahig dahil walang gamit. hahaha then sinundo ko na mag ina ko.
Suggestion ko lang siguro, if kaya naman na isa muna sa inyo mauna para ma settle muna lahat, like place na mapag stayan, magkaron ng onting gamit, work eh much better. Medyo mahirap po mag hanap ng mapapag stayan kung buong family magkakasama. Medyo magastos ang transpo at medyo pagod pagod kayo kakalakad, plus mahihirapan kayo lalo kung maliit pa ang anak.

Mas ok pa din sana if manggaling mismo sa officer ng homeaffairs para sa peace of mind.

Anyway, sobrang laki ng chance I guess na totoo and this favors us a lot. 489 NT ako and very limited or none yung job opp. sa NT now adays, kaya it is really a big help if it's true.

For now, me and my wife are doing job hunt na din. We're here in Qatar. She's a teacher (accepted nyang hanggang teaching asst. muna makukuha nyang job soon).

Me, Im trying to submit na din CVs to employers of diff. areas. If my interview na and job offer, it's a must for us to confirm it tlaga sa homeaffairs kung puede sa anumang area na iyon para ndi magkaproblem in the future.

Let's enjoy lang din muna yung feeling na na-grant. Before, it was a dream lang. Now, it is a reality. =))

for house hunting, have the application ready upon inspection para if nagustuhan nyo, ipasa agad s agent

offer 2 months advance (not necessarily ggawin tlga to) pero it makes a good impression na capable kayo to pay rents. In our case, at s ibang nabasa kong experience, 1 month pa din ang hiningi sknila kahit they offered more sa application

agree na looks close sa shops, child care/school at bus stops/train stations

you can also search for stats ng crime per suburb online, personally, kahit saan nmn may crime basta mag ingat ka na lang palagi

Nabasa ko sa DHA website yan. Lahat ng 488 visa granted Nov 16, 2019 onwards ay pwede mag settle sa regional areas listed sa 491.
