IT in SA

Hi peeps from SA, I would like to know the potential work opp from SA? Ive been thinking if I should go ahead and apply for SA SS or wait for NSW to open on July 2013. Hope some of you can shed some light on how the IT industry is going on for SA.

@raiden14 - wala ako idea sa job prospecting sa SA. Pero diba SysAd ang occupation mo? Hindi ka pa rin makaka apply sa ngayon nang SA SS dahil nasa "special conditions Apply" pa ang occupation sa ngayon. Unless nag graduate ka sa SA pwede kang mag apply nang SS.

Ako din nag aantay sa July 2013 kung e open na ulit nila yung occupation ko.

Try searching for prospective jobs in online job sites like seek or career one. Kung ano ung nakikita mo dun, un mismo ang kalagayan ng IT dito SA.

hi po, im interested also to know the market for IT in SA. sa nkikita ko kasi sa mga job portals parang d masyado marami openings sa field ko din. anyone here sa forum na nka hanap na ng work as a test engr or quality assurance engr? baka pwd po pa share ng mga experiences nyo at qng mai openings ba sa mga company nyo? baka pwd naman mgapply? 🙂

Sa nabasa ko sa website nang SA Fiscal Year nila mag oopen ulit sa July 1. Pero di pa rin natin alam kung ano ang mga pagbabago.

helllo @Isyut. i saw in your timeline that you applied for NT state sponsorship. can you guide me on the process? i applied for Victoria state nomination unfortunately they rejected it. I was hoping you can guide me so I can apply for the same since your nominated occupation is also in the list that has reached the cap. hoping for your input. thanks!

Just wanted share, June 2013 aku ng apply for SA sponsorship and at last month available pa ung Network Administrator and now come July 2013 "Special Conditions" na sya buti na lang before July 2013 ni-approve nila sponsorship ko. At since na-approve na nga aku ng-try aku mag-search ng jobs for network engineer or other jobs that deals with cisco devices pero bat parang halos wala? Unti na lang kaya opportunities dito sa SA? Samantalang sa NSW ang daming opening pero hindi nmn open for sponsorship. hmmm...

Not that much opportunities for IT in SA. I'm an Analyst/Programmer, moved to SA coz of my Aussie husband who is based in SA, but we are moving to Brisbane next month coz that's where I found my job. My husband is also in IT (Citrix) and dying to get out of SA for better job opportunities/exposure.

for IT people in SA with the skills below:

Industry experience relative to Microsoft Networks, Exchange Server, SQL server and an ability to adapt to user requirements is mandatory.

 Experience using SQL or MS Access 

Industry experience relative to Microsoft Networks 

Ability to interpret and understand software systems

I think it all depends on your luck and timing 🙂 Yes, mas konti ang job advertisements dito sa SA compared to the bigger cities.. but that doesn't mean you won't be able to find work.. Marami naman akong kakilala na nakahanap ng IT work dito after 2-3 months. Yung iba maswerte tlg, weeks lang.. meron na. Just keep on applying. If you're a programmer, pero kaya mo maging BA or tester -- there's no harm in trying to apply for these roles. Ensure lang na updated ang resume before submitting it.. Good luck to all SA bound IT migrants 😉
