yep,,,true yang sinabi ni @emjdee..yang tropa nila bilis nakakuha ng work. Most of them are IT..hehe

We really can't generalize na walang IT jobs dito. There are some lucky people na bilis nakakakuha ng job. For me, like @paulie, and some people na nakilala ko. i've been dying to get an IT job here for ilang months na din. It all boils down to one word eh: LUCK 🙂

@emjdee na-meet mo na ako via ron (sohc). Mainframe background ko at konting unix. I plan to study again para makapag-shift ako ng skill set. I will took advantage of SA's skills for all, base dun sa curriculum, more on windows ung course na kukunin ko. Hinihintay ko na lng ung admission letter ko for TAFE. Cge sabihan mo ko pag meron, baka madunong na kong mag-windows nun.. 😃

@nylram_1981 nasa banking industry ako ngayon, pero ayun hindi cobol ang gamit namin... windows/.NET sa office. ok yun if maka-shift ka ng technology 🙂 ok sa office namin, open sila to hiring people na walang local experience basta fit yung skills+background. hopefully mgkaron ng opening ulit soon.

First I'm not an IT person, so I shouldn't be posting here. lol

But my housemate is in IT, she got an IT job in less than a month, then in less than 3 months she was able to find another better IT job.

I agree with @emjdee and nylram_1981 that timing and luck.

But I would like to add, flexibility and relevant certifications like ITIL, windows 7 or 8 etc.

And also the people you know, who know people. 🙂

@ raiden14 @nylram_1981, @Ren, para sa akin tyaga rin ang puhunan dito sa SA. for example wala pang naka advertise na job na line of work mo, then look for another job na medyo related saka mag apply pag nag advertise na talaga sila dun sa line mo. Isa rin kasing factor yung "local experience" na laging hinahanap ng mga employers, so while waiting at nakakuha ng work kahit hindi dun sa linya mo eh you are already gaining the "local experience".

Just finished my first week on my new job since arriving 2 months ago. Tiyaga lang sa pag-apply and most impt pray lang at darating din ang breakthrough na hinahanap natin. Naka-ilang interview din pero sa mga agency lang. Habang naghihintay ng breakthrough kumuha na kayo ng SA license para kung sakaling malayo ang location handa na kayo. Pray lang pray mga kapatid.

Anybody who is a network engineer here? How is the job opportunity?

Network Engineer din po aku at naghahanap-hanap aku ng jobs online pero mukhang onti lang ang mga job posting, pero tingin ko nmn maraming Networking jobs don dahil marami nmn ang Internet Service providers din don sa SA!
