Questions regarding Initial Entry Date

We are contemplating on doing Initial entry to australia until we are ready to settle but we still have some things we're not sure about:

How long do we need to stay in australia to "satisfy" this Initial entry?
After we leave, how long can we stay outside of australia before going back again?
Is there a window or a deadline on when we should be back?
How many days or weeks needed to accomplish all the necessary stuff like centrelink, TFN etc.?

Btw, we have visa subclass 189.

1.there is no minimum number of days required.. you can enter australia and fly out the same day...

you should return to AU before your visa expires (5 yrs from your visa grant date). but you should know the implications of this..
same as no. 2
opening a bank account and enrolling in medicare can be done in 1 hour .. TFN is online, you should provide an AU postal address, they will send the mail with the TFN after 2wks.

Ganito kasi yun, kailangan nasa Australia ka when you apply; when you apply online, you will be required to place your passport number. The database sa ATO is connected sa DIAC so from the passport details mo malalaman if nasa Australia ka or not...

Apply with 2 days from entry here - as this will take a while, the sooner you do this, the better!

this is applicable for PR Visa holders only.

your visa conditions are:

enter before the IED
valid to stay permanently in AU
cannot enter after the visa expiration date

for point 2, pwede ka mag stay sa AU kahit kelan,

but point 3 means, hindi kana pwede pumasok sa AU after mag expire ng visa mo (5 years from visa grant date).

So kung sasagarin mo ang pagbalik mo sa AU, meaning babalik ka lang sa AU pag malapit na ang 5-yr expiration date, pwede ka nmn mag stay sa AU, pero once na lumabas ka at expired na ang visa mo, hindi kana makakabalik... unless mag-apply ka na naman ng panibagong visa called RRV (return residence visa)... panibagong usapin na naman ito.. 😉

at isa pa, of course matatagalan ka bago masatisfy ang Citizenship residential requirement na 4 yrs..

hi.. if you stay in Australia in 4 years, then pwede kana mag apply ng citizenship..

so kung babalik ka sa pinas after 5 years, AU passport holder kana, that means you dont need to apply for RRV anymore...

Mag apply ka lang ng RRV kung nagexpire na ang PR visa mo, at hindi kapa nagiging AU citizen..

i don't know how long and how much is the RRV application...

Getting an RRV requires some criteria like you need to stay for a period of how many months sa Australia, etc... This is all in the DIAC website but to be honest I have not read anyone getting this. Chances are nagpapa citizen ang mga Pinoy after 4 yrs so di na applicable ang RRV,.

pwede nmn po umuwi:

hindi dapat lumampas ng 12 months na wala sa AU sa loob ng 4 years,
AT hindi din dapat lumagpas ng 90 days na wala sa AU ( 12 months prior to application date)
eto pa, hindi dapat tumira ng more than 90 days sa bawat lugar overseas, para hindi kayo i-require ng Police Clearance overseas.

May i-clarify lang po ako.. Kasi po, diba meron pa pong tayong PDOS from CFO before leaving sa PH.. e since yung husband ko po, he attended na po PDOS before leaving to other country, so ok na po un, tama po ba? nde na po applicable sa kanya yun when he enters AU, since nde na po siya galing sa PH? ala po bang hinihingi sa AU na slip na proof of PDOS? or PDOS is "exclusively" before leaving PH lang po talaga, ala na pong connection ito sa entry of the country?

Am speaking as per my experience on a PR Visa here in Australia; mayroon kasing sticker na nilalagay sa passport mo and naka-indicate dito ang country of destination, like in our case Australia. Ito yung hinahanap ng immigration officials in the Philippines...

@anastacia0228 yes tama ka.if hubby e manggaling sa ibang bansa to Au, no need to attend PDOS or obtain CFO sticker.pero pag uuwi sya ng pnas at balik Au at ala sticker sa passport, kelngan nya kumuha pra walng hassle.yun ang alam ko.
