hi @mariusinbrisbane you can check this link:
https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/working-in-australia/skillselect/invitation-rounds
- pre pandemic, every month sila nagiinvite for 189. pero ngayon every quarter na. Sa 190 naman, depende sa state e.
- during pandemic, puro onshore lang usually na naiinvite at mostly yung occup nasa PMSOL. base sa mga nakikita ko previously, more on medical occup yung kadalasan na naiinvite.
- For non pro-rata, as far as I know, basta nasa PMSOL ka, mas may chance ka mainvite especially kung nasa medical occup ka. Pero disclaimer din, hindi lahat ng nasa pmsol naiinivite madalas. like sa occup ko, nasa pmsol ako pero bihira invites samin. Others can correct me on this. Depende kasi sa occup mo e. pero simula pandemic puro onshore and usually medical occup lang may invites.
- During pandemic, mas dumami invites ng 491 so you might want to consider that as well.
Just for clarification
- Pre- pandemic it was nearly impossible to be granted a 189 visa unless you have very very high points. Migration agents would likely divert clients for 491 visa as that’s the most feasible pathway for offshore applicants
- The PMSOL is more often than not for 482 visa applications. Offshore applications are not prioritised, hence no invites are issued
- Right now points aren’t really relevant for offshore as you can’t base your strategy on this - no one gets invited! Though South Australia has opened its nominations for offshore for some occupations but subject to meeting requirements - that’s definitely a positive development
- As mentioned no invites for offshore - that’s the trend. More 491 applications pre-pandemic days - that’s always been the case in the last 3-4 years already. 190 was more for onshore applications. At present, the aim is to maximise points and Lodge the EOI ASAP as that’s likely to increase your chances of inviting soo er when things go back to normality
#1 is so true. Pre pandemic, only people with 90 points and above are being invited. I did a lot of research, read forums and followed the invitation rounds. This is the reason why I delayed taking PTE and be able to submit my EOI. I was at 50 pts and taking PTE could increase my points to 70 in which will allow me to submit my EOI. I lose hope and forgot about my dream. I waited for a year because of this so called "trend". A very big mistake. Pandemic happens last March 2020. By September 2020, almost 300 Medical Lab Scientist were invited for 189 visa with 65 minimum points. I was shocked I couldn't believe it. If you were reading the forums during this time, you would also believe there's no way people below 90 points will be invited. This drove me to sit for PTE on October 2020. I passed it and lodged my EOI immediately at 70 pts. November 2020, my points increased by 5 pts due to additional experience. October 29, 2021 I got invited for 491 FS (offshore) at 75+15 pts.
I settled for less and lose so much time due to this "trend". It would be a different case if I'd hired an agent. She/He would have pushed me to sit for English exam ASAP. I believe I knew so much from my readings and research that I don't need one. A costly mistake.
Here's my advice to you. Do not base your applications on "trends" as DHA is unpredictable. Now they are inviting 90, next round they could be inviting 65.
Lodge your EOI ASAP and wait. I'm sharing this so you could learn from my experience.
