Pag nag file ka kc ng claim for centrelink magbibigay ka na ng estimate income nyong mag-asawa if ever magkakawork kayo (assuming jobless kayo both nun nagfile ng claim). You need to immediately update them once may changes like nagkaroon na ng work ang isa inyo, from there malalaman mo na ng kung above income threshold ka na & di ka na entitled sa family tax benefit. Stop na din nila ang payment. This prevents overpayment of benefits. Ang alam kong income threshold is AUD70k+ per annum (combined income nyong mag-asawa) yata, research mo na lng ung exact figure pero nasa ganyang range.

Mataas kasi ang cost of living dito sa AU so tingin ko mas practical na claim forthnighly to help your weekly budget kesa lump sum lalo na kung isa lng income earner sa pamilya. But cyempre nasa iyo pa rin kung ano choice mo.

Hi Guys, Share ko lang po para may idea yung mga family na magmigrate, I got the payment below from Centrelink this is for my Family Tax benefit which I lodge online, this is for a family with 1 child 3 y.o We arrived Nov 13, 2013. Hope it helps!

@sherneb for almost 2 months po yan, every fortnight ang payment, yung next payment na nakalagay online sakin sa Jan 15 is 300+, wala pong rental assistance yan kasi nde ako nakaprovide ng rent certificate. Not sure kung bakit may Family Tax Benefit B kala ko rin A lang eh. wala kasi nakalagay na reason may set of questions lang then sila magdedecide kung san ka pwede. Hope it helps. THanks!

Hi @rguez06, ibig ba sabihin for Family Tax Benefit, we don't need to wait for 2 years before we can receive Centerlink Benefits? I remember reading about the waiting period, pero the way I understand based on your posts, nakakuha kayo agad.

We are planning to settle by Dec of this year so as early as now, inaaral ko na ang mga kailangan malaman as new migrants.

@onesilvertwo yung "New start allowance" ang may 2 years waiting period, for family with kids makakakuha ka na ng Family Tax Benefit. mag-3 months palang kami dito, and currently we get around 460 AUD per fortnight, for Family Tax Benefit A & B plus rental assistance, then nakareceive din ako letter na may 1k dental benefit yung baby ko for 2 years ata un, pro sa mahal dito baka 2 pasta lang un hehehe...

mga kabayan pakicheck kung tama yung naconsolidate ko na info about some of the benefits we are entitled, curiosity lng po:

Family Tax A: entitled if you are having a dependent under ur care (no aid)

Family Tax B: entitled if isa lng yung may income sa family

Parenting payment: entitled after 2 years residency

rental assistance: not entitled if u are receiving Family tax benefit?(confusing)

child care benefit: if ur child is under child care aid,eliminates ur prev for Fam Tax ben

telephone allowance: claimable in conjunction with parenting payment

the above list only applies for my status having a 1-yr old..marami pang schooling benefits na hindi ko sinama. open for inputs and corrections...

For Rental Assistance, you are entitled if you're receiving family tax benefit.

Hello po, may questions lang po regarding sa pagregister sa centrelink at medicare. I am planning kasi na magapply na kami for centrelink and medicare next week. Nabanggit po dito na pwede muna magassume ng income kahit wala pa work. Sa case ko, I am currently here for a short term assignment lang but still under Singapore payroll. Pwede kaya disregard ko na ung salary sa SG at magassume na lang na isa muna samin ay posibleng maging income earner in the near future? Di pa rin kami makaclaim ng rent assistance kc paid pa ng company accomodation namin dito.

Should we apply now for Centrelink kahit babalik pko sa SG at wife ko lang maiiwan dito? Or unahin na lang muna namin ang Medicare? Sa August pa kasi ako tlaga magmove here for good.

Another thing, dami kasi forms sa Centrelink, alin po ba dapat dun ang idownload namin? We're family of 3, with 2yo child. Thanks ng madami.
