@rbolante, boss, kung through IOM ba sila na bahala pumili ng specs ng flight niyo? Or puwede bang kayo rin umayos ng extras like seating, food, etc?

@rbolante - kelan ka bumili ng ticket? I called qantas directly 3 weeks ago ata un, although meron den sila discounted fare for first time migrants plus the 40KG allowance, hindi daw available ang jan 12 at feb 5 daw ang earliest nila... hmmm baket kaya ganun?

@KTP Bro wag ka na dumirekta sa Qantas kasi IOM na ang bahala sa kanila. Just contact Mr. Kent Madarcos at kmadarcos@iom.int or at telephone number 230-1757 for more details. IOM booked me last August 13 pa.

With regards to the availability ng flight. Depende pa din talaga sa Qantas yun. Kung walang ibigay ang Qantas sa IOM ganun din wala ka talagang makukuha. Baka nga sir nagkaubusan na. Kaya nga inasikaso ko agad para wala nang problema. I originally booked for Jan 5 pero di binigay ng Qantas kasi peak season daw yun wala silang discounted rate.

@LokiJr oo sir sila na bahala. pwede mo din siguro kausapin si sir Kent in case may special request ka mababait naman sila. about sa special seats (exit row) naman i think you can avail of it during check-in or early online check-in. never pa ako nag-try magrequest ng special meals so i can't give an input on that.

@KTP ay sorry po ma'am i thought lalaki kyo. hehehe. anyway, i don't think may issue sa part nila unless hindi ka manggagaling sa pinas papuntang AUS. and of course you have to find a way to send the airfare to them pag na-book na nila. :-)

who have tried travelling to oz via airasia? my friend told me they have the cheapest flights to sydney from Clark though. Anyone please share your experience with Air Asia.

@faye mga ganun nga po more or less kasi 10K+ ang travel tax tapos 16K+ ung fare per adult. iba ang rate for child and infant mas mababa syempre. regarding the baggage allowance that would be weird coz that's how they help 1st-time migrants - to allow us to bring all our belongings as much as possible. sir sir Kent Madarcos ang nakausap mo?

excuse me po, just what does IOM mean by this? 23kgs in one luggage & another 23 in another? so a total of 46 kgs? bec back in june when i was booking my main it was 23 + 17. seems qantas becomes more generous. thanx.

in response to ur query on ur sked, for me it's not advisable to book urselves too close to ur initial entry date. unforseen things can happen. always think of what ifs. no harm in being a paranoid once in awhile. oh my, pinaghirapan nyo ng husto ang visa & then what. if i were u at least a month before, not weeks.

that's just me.

I have tried Air Asia X last June from Singapore to Melbourne (via KL) - it was okey, parang Cebu Pacific lang sya albeit a bigger (and wider plane).

No frill airline meaning you have to buy baggage allowance, food, and drinks. There is no entertainment system as well but I think you have the option to rent their mobile dvd ata.

Good thing was red-eye flight ito coming out from KL - so an hour after take-off tulog na kami and when we woke up, approaching Melbourne na ang plane.

Yes, you can get good price if on sale but if lalabas sya na less than 5K difference versus legacy airlines, forget it... Sa legacy airlines ka na as they are more comfortable... 🙂

By the way, we got our tickets SIN-KUL-MEL rountrip for just 12K... Seat sale!! 😃
