Things to do first "After" arriving in Australia

Yeah suggestion talaga to open up a bank account as soon as possible kasi pag within 6 weeks your passport alone would be sufficient as proof of identity (they use the 100 point identification check). So if more than 6 weeks ka na then you'd have to provide additional document to prove your identity. Di naman hassle mag-open ng bank account dito, you can even open online while you're still in the Philippines.

For the medicare I'm not quite familiar with it so let's wait for the other member to answer that question.

yup advisable magopen ng bank account kase kelangan din un pag magapply ng medicare if i remember correctly. Also, kelangan sya para sa payroll. hehehe at least pag nakakuha ng trabaho madali na lang. Be aware lang na ung ibang banks may charge pag hindi nameet ung amount na dapat pumapasok sa account (pero pde naman withdraw lang then deposit that money hehe) pero may banks din ata na walang ganitong charge...

ano po ang mai-su-suggest ninyong bangko para sa aming mga baguhan palang...yung wala naman pong service charge and malaking compensating balance...

@icebreaker1928 ung charge sa smart access ng cba pag di namaintain ung 2k aud deposit per month. pero syempre the trick is withdraw then deposit the money lang ulit heheh pag naman may trabaho na di na to kelangan gawin therefore walang charge :-)

Sis, ang need lng i-maintain is ung monthly deposit? Hindi naman ung maintaining balance?

Partner yata sila actually ng NAB so if diyan ka magwithdraw using your NAB atm it would be free of charge. 🙂

@stolich18, i like your suggestion ;-) I opened an account sa CBA too, sir, do you know how much is the charge if we can't maintain the monthly deposit? the 2K?

It has the most number of ATM's in Oz, plus near sa place namin may branch sila, parang tatawid lang dun na heheheh kaya we chose CBA.

4aud ata charge every month pag di nagdeposit ng 2k. ung technique na yan, aussie-pinoy friend ko nagsabi skn hehe
