Question: Occupational Health & Safety Advisor (ANZSCO code 251312)

Good pm po. Nabuhayan po ako nung makita ko ung thread na ito. I've submitted an application as OH&S Adviser sa Vetassess yesterday. Sa honest and experienced opinion may pagasa po ba ako na mkakuha ng positive?

Eto po case ko:

Qualification- Registered Nurse (Graduated 2007)- Highly relevant po ba to?

Addt'l Qualification- Integrated Mgmt System ISO9001,14001OHSAS 18001 online only last Sept 2013

NEBOSH Int'l Diploma - only Part B pa lang na pass ko last Sept. 2016- i-honor ba nila to?

Experience:

Fire Safety Inspector/Safety Advisor (Aug 2009- Sept 2011) description signed by supervisor
Firefighter/Driver Operator in Kuwait US- maybe not related base (Sept 2011- Sept 2013)
Officer (Emergency Management Officer) with Safety inspector/advisor roles with job description signed by supervisor (Oct 2013-present)/ nakaindicate din po sa residence visa ko sa qatar na Safety and Security Technician (in Arabic nga lang po)

I got a negative assessment. :-(

As stated in your outcome letter, your Bachelor of Science meets the required educational level however the major area of study, Nursing is not considered to be in a field highly relevant to the nominated occupation. Whilst you do have a NEBOSH certificate in International control of hazardous agents in the workplace, this is not a qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.

In regards to your employment at RasGas Company Limited, you do appear to be performing relevant tasks for the nominated occupation, however, as this employment does not follow a qualification which meets the required educational level in a highly relevant field, you do not meet the requirements to receive a positive outcome for Skills Assessment.

Ano po ba thoughts nyo dito? I have Integrated Management System certificate consisting of Quality Management System ISO 9001, Environmental management System ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 kaso baka hindi nila to nakita sa upload kc niresize ko ung file.

Nagkatalo lang po ba sa job description or wala na po akong pagasa na pumasa in case magpa reasessed ako? I'm doing the OH&S role sa current work ko cguro nga dapat mas i-focus ko ANZSCO code as OH&S Adviser role.

As per VETASSESS sa website nila.

Qualifications which do not have a major in OH&S will be considered on a case-by case basis provided that the major is in an area related to the employment context, evidence of employment which is assessed as highly relevant to the nominated occupation and supported by in-house relevant training. For example, VETASSESS will consider an applicant who holds a qualification in building and construction as well as short courses and/or licensing in OH&S, combined with highly relevant employment in a construction setting, and working primarily in a full time OH&S role.

Ano po bang short course or licensing in OH&S meron po kau para makakuha ng positive asessment? Full time naman po ako as OH&S officer at pati duties iba nga lang po ung Job title ko which is Officer (Emergency Management Service).

@Jekfire sorry to hear that. si husband ko kasi Safety Engr talaga siya at more on contruction siya as in safety adviser din title nya sa work nya currently. meron din siya mga training certificates related to safety. yung employment certificate nya detailed din with job description na related talaga dun sa description as define dun sa ANZSCO code.

Your Bachelor Degree in Nursing was considered additionally with your NEBOSH qualification is in International control of hazaardous agents in the workplace which is not Occupational Health and Safety. Additionally, using the above example, we do consider cases where there is evidence of employment which can be considered to be highly relevant nominated occupation. In your case, as your qualification majors in nursing, a highly relevant employment context would be in nursring where you are performing tasks highly relevant to an Occupational Health and Safety Professional.

Hi po, I am an Industrial Engineering graduate thru ETEEAP and prior to that nag aral ako ng Hotel and Restaurant Management kaso hindi ko cya natapos. Right now I am working as HSE Specialist with different training like NEBOSH IGC (kulang pa ng GC2), ISO 45001 and 14001 Lead Auditor training. Need ko pa ba mag student visa to take Certificate IV and Diploma in WHS to have a positive assessment sa VetAssess?

Hi ,

I have brother with OSH certificate training 2017, fire safety training then working as safety advisor. Mga short courses lang to taken sa phils. Does he stand a chance for a positive assessment from vetassess?
