hello guys, kakatapos lang ng ielts ko hung saturday here in dubai. morning is the listening, reading and writing and in the evening is the speaking test. hopefully i will get the passing obs.
in listening, wala laming headset so the recording was played in the entire ballroom, nasa hotel kasi kami. medyo mahirap magfocus sa listening kasi there are other sounds in the room kaya just focus on the recording. it may seem that this is the easiest part but if you lose the focus necessary, mawawala ka especially pay conversation/ discussion minsan kasi, the choices are not exactly the same as the conversation.... kaya it is important to look for key words and its synonyms para makuha mo yung answers sa choices. try to practice listening sa mga audio samples ng ielts 1 to 8.
in reading, katulad ng advises nila, practice scanning and skimming. look for the questions first para may idea ka kung ano yung hahanapin mo. maraming tips sa you tube... maikli yung oras kaya maximize it. also, tricky and questions requiring true, false and not given answers. ditto ako nalilito kaya try answering questions of the same nature.
sa writing, tama sila, give more time to part 2 since it bears higher score that part 1. and ikli ng time so limit yourself to 20 mins sa 1st part and 40 mins sa 2nd part. muntik na ko kapusin kasi nagtagal ako sa 1st part
question sa 1st part is writing letter to the city council about the recent condition of your street which is becoming rather dirty. 2nd part is an essay about the ordinary people copying famous people. try to watch english ryan, marami syang pointers on how to write an essay in chronology... important is to state your position and be able to justify it and to make a good intro and remarkable conclusion. again, practice is the key.
speaking, try to relax while talking so ideas will come naturally. try to have conversation in english as practice. questions na narerecall ko:
1st part
2nd part
- recent change in your life and how it affect your life.... reasons for the change and is it good or bad
3rd part
reaction of your friends, follow up sa 2nd part
opinion on people changing jobs and careers.... do you agree or not?
do you like change or not, site advantages and disadvantages.
