im enjoying your comments here....i could really relate....to those who need to retake the exam, my piece of advice is allow some time to learn from your first failure, wag sugod ng sugod like me. eheehehh. just imagine, i took the 2nd take just two weeks after coz I was chasing the change of policy. it was like from 7 to 8 for the new year 2013 coz 8 is a crazy ielts requirement for teachers category. give yourself a time to practise your weakness which you think is your Achilles' heel. kaya heto ako ngaun, lurker moder lng muna and naubos ko na ata ang reviewer from cambridge 1 until 9, ahahahaha. nakakatamad ung writing mag practise but i need to push myself. nag aabang lng ako sa driving force one day, ehehheh. cant wait to move na sa OZ...nakaka insomnia pala pag lagi mong iniisip ang pangarap mo especially if you are waiting for a result. then ur framing up and layouting what to do next, whats the next step, ahahahah...ako ung taong hindi pa nagyayari, nag-iisip na kung ano gagawin ko dun...ahahahahha...so optimistic lng! Lord, sana makuha ko na ang band 8 for speaking and listening and 7 nman for reading and writing bago tumaas na naman. do you u think tataas na namn kaya ds 2014? eheheheh...im planning to take this december na...but i am afraid....but im encouraged somehow because even if i fail sa ielts, the fact that ielts costs an arm and a leg, i can still afford and im so grateful about that kasi kung nagkataon na nasa pilipinas ako, naku po, 10k per exam is all what my wealth and property would be all, patay ang bata! cant even maybe dare to take ielts or just even think of taking one or forget about OZ. i think, this is too long to read, so guys, just keep on going...never give up (im telling myself too!) 🙂

this is how i act each time i go home after the test. wifey will ask, "how was it?" i just simply answer "pasado yan." for the next 12 days i will not bother (busy busyhan sa trabaho) until the night before the results i'll tell my wife "sasabit yung writing" then she's like "oh akala ko ba???" 😃

I strongly agree! Grabe di ko maimagine san pa ako kukuha ng another 10k just in case I don't make it this time. Baka pwede mo ako ihanap ng work dyan sa Jakarta? Hehe.

Anyways, me too. Daydreaming all the way! Pati checklist ng mga dadalhin iniisip ko na. I'm really dreaming of this since I was a little kiddo. Hopefully, first and last IELTS ko to.. 🙂

hahaha katatapos lang ng speaking exam ko. sa BC SG. Nakipagkwntuhan pa sa bagyong yolanda. part 1, daldal ko. Name, san ako galing and what work ko, gaano kadalas ako magemail and telephone etc. Part 2, What rule na naremember ko nun asa school pa ko. part 3 linked sa 2. Tapos sa bandang huli ng sagot ko, nacurious cia sa sagot ko, medyo nagdebate kami., hehe Sbi ko na lang I am a product of what i believe in. heheh Huling sbi nia, Maligayang pasko.. Ok, back to work na ulit. Mas nakakaba pa to nun huling ngtake ako PMP exam. Iinom ko na lang to sa saturday. sakto mey Jack sa bahay. hehe Goodluck saatin!

Haha ako naman from the very start I think sabit na speaking ko then next is writing but i'm still hoping na sana I will get a positive result. Hays! Hehe..

@btarroja213 @RyanJay thanks sa advices niyo mga sir... I will check out ielts-simon and try to expound on more complex sentence structures.

Another pain point I have is on getting a better thought process running to attack the questions. I find it challenging to produce a solid essay if I don't have a strong case to build upon. And for me, I ride and write on the initial momentum. I'm not too strongly opinionated kasi specially if I can't relate a personal experience, or have not read about the topic at hand. For this matter, I got a tip to read through editorial columns in Inquirer. More specifically thos e by Conrado De Quiros. Just sharing that tip to others as well.

Hi guys... Before i sleep, just wanna share that i just did listening practise... Nakakawala ng gana pag may namiss akong number n wala akong sagot for the ff reasons: 1) nabanggit na pla pero hindi ko ko alam gone with d wind na pla 2) naghihintay pa ng more words na magbibigay ng clue sa blank eh next number na pla ang kasunod naku! 3) alam kong un na un pero hindi ko ma spell or not not confident sa word dahil hindi ko matukoy ung definite word kundi parang hdhdhjsjxayhans....ahahahahha. Practise ako ulit!!!

Good luck guys. ang ginawa ko for the writing part, inuna ko yung Task 2 kasi yun yung mas mahirap, mas malaki yung points, and all. tas yung task 1, mga 10 mins ko lang ginawa.. 🙂 kaya nyo yan!

Hi guys... Just wanna share that Im proud to share today that I was able to practise listening test before I'd retire soon to bed. It made me feel like I wanted to quit and just squash myself if I miss the answer for a certain question or blank. My first 2 scores were band 7.5 and my last was 8. It has made me worried coz I need to get 8 for the listening and so far my listening practise score is inconsistent. Its making me pressured a lot and stressed if I'd think I would not reach my requirement.

I dont like the part when its mutiple choice somewhere in 30s and down coz the subject is too technical, thus, hard for me to grasp quickly. Also, I dont like the enumeration part. The distractors in a character's speech in dialogue are indeed distractive! What are ur tips for this dilemma?

Just wanna share my writing preparation this time. I rewrote a band 9 writing sample, task 1 and task 2 to see how many lines should I write in a paragraph for the size of my handwriting so that I have a guide now reaching just enough the word limit in actual exam. Then, I studied the structure/parts of task 1 and task 2. By doing these, I hope I could make my dream get started soon.

@ca_pogi I think so, yes same lang. Accommodations in Pho Island din yung listening niyo? Then around 5 passages sa reading? Kakainip and kakakaba! Pero ayoko na talaga umulit, sana naman ibigay to this time. Ang mahal kaya! Hays. San ako kukuha another 9k. :/ Haha

@R_Yell what I did is to read in advance the questions plus the choices. I try to understand the whole recording kasi pansin ko lang nababanggit yung mga choices pero opposite sa nasa audio. So, way of elimination until I think that I already get the right answer. Then, na-encounter ko hindi rin verbatim yung sagot when it comes to multiple choice. So parang ang tingin ko ang tinetest sa multiple choice type of questions is yung comprehension dun sa topic as a whole. Just my two cents lang po.
