You're welcome @Bryann. With regards to IT opportunities in Phil and basing from experience, I think Phil has a better environment as compared to AU when you are a new migrant. In the Philippines, at least you are invited for an interview before you are rejected. In here, you get the usual "because of the sheer number of applicants ..." reply from recruiters. I would say that in terms of pay in the Phil, there are still some who give a good amount if you just keep searching. A lot of startup companies (foreign companies putting up Phil branches) arise every now and then and they usually give good pay to attract talents.
With regards to AU pay, I don't know but I only had 2 interviews to base my opinion from. One of the companies give me an outright expected pay (market rate as provided in some studies) even if we haven't started with the interview yet and the amount is in the minimum side of my expected range. So maybe, because they know that job market is tight for new migrants, they try to give the minimum. But the other company was a little bit gracious and they offered the median pay. So I guess it depends on the company.
When comparing what you are going to save from your salary (phil vs au), there should be 2 factors, your net income and your lifestyle. Assuming lifestyle is the same, I have computed that I can save the same percentage ((1 - expenses/net income) x 100%) when comparing the highest income I had in the Phil vs the minimum pay they offered me here. So hopefully, this gets better as you get some experience barring any economic problems.
