<blockquote>8C) What information needs to be contained within the employer reference?
This Reference should:
ο· show the official company or government department letterhead of the organisation which employed you
ο· show in the letterhead the full address of the company, any telephone and fax numbers, email and website addresses
ο· be from your supervisor or the manager of the human resources department βreferences from colleagues at the same level or below are not suitable
ο· be signed by an authorised person whose name and position is typed or stamped below the signature β a signature which cannot be identified will not be accepted and include the following information:
β’ the direct contact number of the person writing the reference
β’ the exact period of employment
β’ the required working hours per week
β’ whether that employment was permanent or temporary
β’ whether the employment was full-time or part-time
β’ the position(s) held
β’ the main duties undertaken
Positions should not be described by generic titles, but according to the nature of the duties undertaken.
