This is why I stay vigilant on ACS outcomes….they get things wrong at times and it’s too difficult to chase them to raise a query until I escalate it to upper management.

Hello, question lang sa mga may naka experience na mag apply. So I am planning to apply for an assessment sa ACS. My current background: Graduated BS in Information Technology. Then right after I graduated, nagapply agad ako ng work and currently employed ako as a software engineer sa same company now for 2 years and counting.

My question is, qualified ba ako mag apply for an assessment? If yes, what are the chances na positive ang outcome assuming na closely related yung studies, work and nominated work ko? Ang pagkakaintindi ko kasi may idededuct sila na 2 years regardless of background. Thank you

Positive outcome, however, 0 points lang matatangap mo sa work experience, kasi nga, as you have mentioned, may 2 years deduction si ACS dun sa pag assess nila.

Ginanahan ako lalo mag-apply haha. But for deduction of 2 years, hindi ko talaga sure kung regardless of background mag dededuct sila or baka sa mga "not so close" na background lang sila nagdededuct. Pero bago ang lahat, subukan ko muna ang assessment. Thanks you

Question po about lodging ng EOI. I find new ACS assessment format and even ung wordings nila confusing so asking po for your input..

"Your skills have been assessed to be suitable against the requirements for ANZSCO code 263111 Computer Network and Systems Engineer as of 20-Jan-2024."

Education: (I have two Bachelor's Degree)

IT related bachelor's degree 1 taken from Philippines - Only got equivalent to Diploma probably kasi Section 3 ung school ko

My other bachelor's degree taken outside pinas - assessed to be comparable to Bachelor Degree

However, ACS assessed both as not closely related sa ANZSCO code ko which is kinda surprising.

Work experience: Assessed to be closely related . Naka enumerate ung mga employment na included in table format. (15 years)

Questions:

Should I include both as bachelor’s degrees in my EOI, or should I only list it as diploma and bachelor’s degree as per the ACS assessment? Also, am I eligible to claim 15 points for education?
For employment history, should I only include the positions that ACS assessed as closely related?
For this line: "Your skills have been assessed to be suitable against the requirements for ANZSCO code 263111 Computer Network and Systems Engineer as of 20-Jan-2024." - ano po ung ibig sabihin nung 20-Jan-2024? Ito kasi ung date kung kelan ko nakuha ung second degree ko. Ibig sabihin po ba counted ung work experience ko prior to this?

As far as the migration law is concerned, those 2 years can be claimed but be prepared to defend your claim if case officer queries it.

Hello po,

Just want to ask regarding claiming of experience sa EOI. Based sa nababasa ko, pwede i-claim as relevant experience yung 2 years na dinededuct ni ACS sa positive skills assessment, especially kung makaka-affect sa points? Currently working for 3 years sa same company and same role after attaining my qualifications (got positive skills assessment back in august).

Mainly concerned with NSW and SA, since may nakalagay na "minimum of three years of skilled employment in their nominated or related occupation within the last 5 years" for SA.

Does this mean I am only allowed to upload one file? Cite for example CoE + Paylisps + Tax docs in single file? OR can I upload separately for these documents?

Another concern. For Transcript of Records. The four pages would constitute 20 MB. DO you have any idea if I can upload these pages by part/per pdf?

Nasa DPI settings ng scanner yan kaya malaking anh file size. At least 300dpi yata is acceptable by ACS. Ganon lang ginawa ko.

Kung hindi kakasya sa isang pdf document ang isang employment- hatiin mo into 2 docs. File name ZZZZ part1 ; ZZZZ part2. Ganon.

Hello. Meron na po ba nakapag try dito mag submit ng nag bagong ACS application for the same ANZSCO code even when ACS already came up with the result? But sa new application, reference letter from one of the employer will be revised (to align it with all my other work experience). Hinahabol ko kasi ma claim ung max points because I have this one role na more on network security siya and ung reference letter ko is puros security nakalagay (but i work as network pa rin) kaya siguro di sinama ni ACS sa role ko as network engineer. Kinapos ako ng 8 years dahil dito..

If not, what are my options? Uubra po ba dito ung appeal and submit statutory declaration?

Sa current employer ko since naka work visa lang din ako sa Singapore, I said "for skills certification" yan mismo ang word haha. Binalikan ko yung email ko eh so for upskilling, ganon.
May slight takot kasi ako before na baka icancel yung work visa ko kung sabihin ko na for migration to other country. HAHA! So okay lang yan. So far nirenew naman nila visa ko. Ang ending, wala naman sila pake. Nung nag-apply pa nga ako police clearance sa Singapore, may question doon, bakit ka aalis ng Singapore (choose 3 reasons) and to which country ka lilipat ganon.
I just couldn't tell them for loan purposes kasi parang bihira naman kelangan ng job description sa loan application di ba, alam naman ng HR yan. Sabihin mo nalang, magpapa certify ako eh kelangan yan.
I don’t think HR will even dare question the requirements being asked from the “loan” and if they do, you just say that’s what my lawyer asked me….they won’t say, “we won’t put in job description because that’s not required for a loan application” perhaps you’re applying for a business loan to prove that your skillful to run the business or loan to fund your studies. HR won’t require you to justify and check if valid yung requirement your providing sa loan. They can’t question the requirements being asked of you and you don’t need to explain to them in full details why you need such in the end.

And like what was said, they don’t really care 😉

This input is just based on your situation, so take this with a grain of salt.

Your goal for the assessment is to be able to have them credit as much years as you can based on the skills that you present. With majority of your occupation falling into the IT sector, it makes more sense to be assessed by ACS. You just need to align your chosen occupation to your current skills.
Your qualification (ECE) assessment (as IT Major or Minor) will depend on the course subjects and the assessor.

It will really boil down to how aligned your current skills are to your chosen occupation.

In my case, I had myself assessed for Analyst Programmer, but my course was BSBA Maj. in Information Management.

Since it was not aligned, i had to do RPL aside from the job descriptions.

hi po mga sir, ask ko lang meron bang time limit ang pag submit ng application sa ACS upon payment? nagkataon meron ako nakaligtaan na coe...

another question po meron ba sa inyo nag submit sa acs na hindi naka indicate ang working hours? hndi kasi ito nalagay, bale yon mga coe ko e nirequest ko pa noon using yon old template mga several years ago, nag apply kasi ako noon with 75pts pero hndi ako nakareciv ng ITA...ngayon gusto ko ulit e try...

another thing noon, kahit certifications like for cisco isinama ko, pero ngayon sa new portal it looks like hndi kelangan? naninigurado lng po...thank you

from what i read dito sa forum, may mga nagsubmit naman without indicating their working hrs. when i applied back in 2023, you need to confirm na complete na lahat before submitting your application to proceed sa payment. also, di required na certified true copy any docs. haven't checked ACS guidelines since then, so baka may mga new rules na since relaunch.

if i were you, it's better to double check ACS guidelines. and as much as possible, follow and provide what's being asked.

thanks Cassie, binasa ko din ang guidelines but I wanted to be sure, ang mahal na kasi ngayon, dati 600 lng yon ngayon 1400+ na...I remember last 2017 nagsubmit ako pina ctc ko pero sabi din noon d nman need...this time same docs ang sinubmit ko na sinubmit ko noon 2017, anyway bale nag add lng ako ng iba since new employer na ako ngayon pero d ko na pina ctc yon iba like payslip...nasubmit ko na nman, wait ko na lng result...thank you.
