Check-in Luggage:
clothes (casual, formal)
whatever you can squeeze in that you can layer for warmth (tip: department stores in Pinas put warmer clothes like jackets, coats and boots, on sale by mid-january)
footwear (sandals, slippers, sneakers, track/rubber shoes, heels; boots optional)
prescription meds
over-the-counter meds (alaxan, biogesic, bioflu, neozep, vicks/efficascent oil/omega/alcohol, vitamins, lozenges for sore throats)
2 boxes cool-fever
prescription glasses, contacts (bring spares)
at least 1 towel
at least 1 blanket
bedding set
vaccuum packed pillow (if you can squeeze it in)
baby oil
lotion
shampoo

basic sewing kit (needles, thread, scissors)

basic first aid kit (band aids, povidone iodine/betadine, burn ointment, calamine lotion/caladryl)
@RClem, some hand-carry stroller bags available on the market are business-class sized. Get those with 5-7 kilos capacity. Websites for airlines specify the dimensions for their carry-on luggage, so be sure to check. I had the same problem once. Nag tanggal lang kami ng konting laman at nilipat sa check-in luggage para payagan na icarry-on.
*for those traveling with children, airlines usually give additional carry-on allowance. You can also bring car seats and strollers on the plane with you as special carry-on luggage or to be loaded last on the plane and first off when you get to your destination. They usually cover them with plastic for protection.
