i know exactly where u are coming from. Siguro mas ok na while offshore ka once pr ka na e apply apply ka na din malay mo maswertihan, pag nakahanap ka work dun sa state na nag sponsor sayo e di mas ok db. 

dati around every 2 months nag u-update ang WA ng list, pero since nag update sila nung grouping tas nag require ng offer of employment sa Sch2 list of occupations, mejo nalimit na ung pag update nila e. wala na din advise when sila mag update ng list uli.

Hello po, I'm new here. I know it was discussed before pero ask lang po ako ng help regarding the steps to follow when applying for a visa. medio nakakalito po kasi eh. should i take ielts first? or should i find a suitable visa to apply for muna? i want to work in darwin po kasi where my cousin is residing na. i have 8 years of work experience as guidance counselor and psychometrician (psychological testing in-charge). may chance po kaya ako to find work in darwin? thanks po and I would greatly appreciate any helpful replies.

IELTS would depend if the skills assessing authority requires for it. usually engineers, nurses, accountants require IELTS before you can proceed with the skills assessment. As for the job, depende they normally prefer ung mga pr at may valid visa to work in australia unless sobrang high ang demand nila for your occupation, baka pwede ka iisponsor offshore for a work visa.

@jobibee First step is to research, understand and decide which visa would you like to apply for. Once you've decided, then you can now plan and gather your requirements.

Example, if you decide to get a

State Sponsorship (190) - some state requires IELTS scores to be atleast 7.0 (hindi yan average ah, your lowest score across 4 bands will be considered)

Independent (189) - only 6.0 is required

Then another factor to consider is what type of IELTS to take : General or Academic (which is dependent on your nominated occupation; your assessing authority group will provide details on that)

@grant512 yes possible at legal.

But in my opinion, I doubt they'll get approved by either. The reason the state will sponsor you is to make sure you live, work and stay for a certain amount of time. Applying for 2 separate state sponsorship would only show that the intention is to exploit the process to get a visa, but not to serve its rightful purpose.

@Envy hmmmm oo nga po... shoul I wait for July 1st para mag 189 or apply SS po kaya kasi ceiling na yung nominated skills namin for 189. Worry naman ako baka sa July 1 madami na magbago.

if yes, then they will atleast get information on upcoming changes.

if none, try searching articles in immi.gov.au regarding notices, news etc.

I remember they cut the ceiling for specific ICT occupations from 2013 to 2014 kasi dumadami na yung mga immigrants especially from India. 2015? cant say.

189 or SS 190? hirap po mag decide..

I think the quickest and easiest way to get a visa is SS 190 (plus you get additional 5 points) but you must also consider the fact that once you arrived in Australia, you will be limited to certain areas where you can live or work or study. Say you wanted an ACT SS 190, once you're in Canberra i doubt you'll get good jobs as most jobs are in Federal Government which requires Citizenship and Security Clearance for IT professionals.

189 ; you get the freedom to chose where to live and work but the pathway to getting visa is a little bit challenging.

Thanks! @Envy May Agency po kami we decided to go 190 since iopen ko nga sa knila na instead mag antay kami July 1st why not apply for 190. Pero sa mga nababasa ko napa ka strict na din ng mga states.

@grant512 if applied to you and you have enough points, go for 189. That way, you are not limited to where you can go. Konting intay lang naman.

Usually 190 ang unang napupuno for occupation an nasa SOL, since usually nag 190 lang ang applicant if kulang ung points.

@bookworm @Xiaomau82 ICT Business Analyst po. If antayin ko magopen yung ICT BA sa July 1 baka mgkroon ng mga changes eh and bka hindi magopen. Yan ang worry ko kya mag 190 nlang sna ako.
