First take, naka-Superior po ako! Thank God need ko kasi ito to reach 70 points sa EOI.
Sa mga mag-ttake po, here are some of my personal observations and tips sa loob ng testing center:
1) Sa loob ng testing center, MAINGAY TALAGA. Kaya mag-practice po kayo with background noise (specifically this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnGI1NPTIi4). Dapat marunong din po kayo mag-zone out ng ingay.
2) Ang challenging lang talaga is the Speaking part. Lalo na ang daming maingay kanina (no offense kung kayo yun tapos kasabayan ko kayo kanina haha!)
3) Sa Reading and Listening, wag masyadong mag-focus sa mga Multiple Choice questions kasi nakakakain ng time yun.
Experiences with the test:
1) Ang dami kong stutter sa RA (siguro mga 3 items), same with RS (2-3 items din) pero for some reason naka-90 pa din ako sa Speaking di ko ineexpect haha!
2) Challenging ng kaunti yung Reading section sa test ko, kaya yun yung pinaka-mababa ko. Pero at least, Superior pa din.
3) Feel ko nakabawi ako sa WFD, kasi na-perfect ko siya. So maganda din na mabilis kayo mag-type para ma-type niyo as you're hearing the audio.

Maingay nga talaga sa testing center. May 2 instances na nadala ako sa ingay kaya nabulol ako sa isang RA and nalimot ko ng slight yung template sa isang DI.

Focus talaga on your OWN exam. Wag makinig sa performance ng iba.

May templates ka bang ginamit sa Describe Image and Retell Lecture? Pa-share rin po ng tips at strategies na ginamit mo sa pag-practice ng Read Aloud and Repeat Sentence 🙂

Salamat po! Opo nakakadistract nga, lalo na ang daming gumagamit nung JimmySsem na templates for DI and RL kaya sobrang mabubulabog ka. Kaya need talaga mag-practice with noise para matuto kang mag-zone out ng ingay.

Thank you po! Hindi na po required ang face shield. For the templates, ginamit ko po yung kay JimmySsem for DI and RL, pero nag-add ako ng kakaunting words para full of thought at hindi puro keywords. Bale ganito po ginamit ko:

"The given image is about interesting topics based on many different categories. Firstly we can see that the image can show a major point which is connected to our society, so it is fair to say that it is important. In addition, the given (graph/chart/picture) provides us with the information about (title of graph/chart/picture) for (kung may years, then years; kung may breakdown ng categories, then categories) measured in (yung measure ng graph, kung percent or number). Overall this image is very informative."

Same din po with re-tell lecture, pero mostly keywords na ginagamit ko dun pero may added context pa din like "He discussed (keyword1). He also discussed things like (keyword2,3,4,5), as well as (keyword6,7,8,etc)"

Nung nagbu-book po kasi ako ng schedule, yung pinaka-maaga kong nakita is November 18, which was 1 and a half months from the day I booked. So I spent po every day studying for it na.

For full PTE skills practice, you can use ApeUni.com pero ang ginamit ko talaga is LanguageAcademy.com.au. Meron silang weekly question predictions and may ibang lumabas sa exam ko, lalo na sa Reading section. May libreng mock test pa when you sign up 🙂

Salamat po! Yes po, kay JimmySsem na DI and RL na templates.

Ang ma-share ko po is don't focus on these modules kasi nung nagka-change sa PTE nung November 16 onwards, bumaba yung items ng DI from 5-6, naging 3-4, at yung RL from 3-4, naging 1-2. Dun po sa exam ko, 3 na DI lang ang na-encounter ko and 1 lang na RL. Yung RA and RS po, hindi bumaba yung number of items.

Yung DI and RL madali nalang kasi may templates pero dapat todo practice po kayo sa RA and RS kasi yun yung may pinakamalaking weights sa Speaking and other strands tapos hindi pa nag-reduce yung number of items.

You can use languageacademy.com.au po for all skills practice. Diyan ko po talaga napractice yung RA and RS kasi makikita niyo din po yung fluency and pronunciation scores niyo. Also FYI po, according sa mga PTE tutors, mas malaki ang hatak ng fluency sa score compared sa pronunciation. Kaya dapat as much as possible, speak naturally and without any pauses.

May trick pala siya? HAHAHA! Kasi ako mabilis ako magtype so nattype ko kaagad yung words at the same time as the audio is playing. Key po talaga is mabilis magtype dapat. Pero may ibang sinusulat yung words sa notepad.

Meron @mariusinbrisbane . Yung kunwari di ka sure kung students or student.. itype mo lang daw parehas sabi ni jimmyssem pero hindi naman effective ehh.. Ang baba kasi ng writing ko 72 huhu.

And sa RA magbasa lang like para kang reporter ng news hehehe. Sa RS may tatlo akong walang nasabi tlga pero surprisingly, 90 ang speaking ko. Hahaha RA ang humatak talaga.

Ahh ganun ba. Mukhang di nga effective yung ganun. Nakita ko din yun before na sinusulat niya lahat pag di siya unsure, like "the" or "a", isusulat niya parehas.

Baka po kasi kahit wala kayong nasabi, fluent pa din kayo? May mga nakikita kasi ako na kahit di nila complete yung content ng sentence, fluent pa din sila magsalita at dire-diretso, tapos naka-90 pa din. Kasi malaki daw hatak ng fluency sa Speaking

sa RS okay lang po bang di masabi lahat ng words as long as clear yung mga words na sinasabi and derederetso?

sa RS okay lang po bang di masabi lahat ng words as long as clear yung mga words na sinasabi and derederetso?
Sa RA po, natural pace lang dapat po ang pagbabasa, hindi nagmamadali or sobrang bagal. Be mindful din po sa mga commas, na dapat may short pauses din. Napakinggan ko po sa mga PTE tutorial videos na mas malaki yung contribution ng fluency over pronunciation at content for Speaking, so as much as possible, wag mag-stutter at magsalita lang naturally.

Sa RS po may 2-3 items ako na hindi ko talaga complete yung words haha! Pero nakeep ko pa din yung fluency kahit papaano. Meron isa akong item halos 3 words lang nasabi ko, yung beginning at end, pero nagsalita pa din ako fluently.

Sa SWT, since one sentence lang siya, make sure to make use of conjunctions such as "which, where, as well as, such as, however" para humaba lalo yung sentence. Also pag hindi ka pasok sa 50-70 words, ang sabi nila hindi daw accepted yung answer mo.

Sa SST naman, kahit hindi nakasabi na 50-70 words, make it sure na pasok ka pa din sa range na yun. Ang weird nga hindi siya nakasabi sa instructions when you take the exam itself, pero sabi ng mga PTE tutors you can write 5-75 words, so ibig sabihin wag sumobra sa 75. Para di na malito, iparehas mo nalang sa SWT na 50-70 words ang limit. :smile:
