Speaking
Read aloud –
• Try “English Speaking - Shadowing Technique” dun sa youtube for several days.
• Read English articles for at least 15 to 30 minutes a day. Lage akong nagbabasa dun sa
[http://www.globalization101.org](http://www.globalization101.org) at [https://www.sciencedaily.com/](https://www.sciencedaily.com/)
• Madalas kong nilalakasan ang boses ko while reading para masanay ako sa proper
chunking, pausing, word stress & sentence stress. While reading aloud, try to enunciate
words properly. Yung ginawa ko dito, nag emphasized talaga ako dun sa /t/ sound. Di
bale na kahit medyo OA or exaggerated, at yung /d/ & /s/ sound. I watched A.J Hoge
(Effortless English Show) videos on youtube.
• Try to record and listen to your voice during practice session
• Find someone na talagang particular about pronunciation tapos mag basa ka ng
articles in front of him/her…and ask her feedback.
• Yung ginawa ko dito, I always read at an average reading speed, di mabagal, di rin
mabilis. Dapat ma-emphasize yung pause kapag my comma or period.
• Ginamit ko to https://www.speechtexter.com/ para malaman ko kung anong words
ang madalas na hindi naka capture ng computer dahil sa pacing at pronunciation
problem.
• During practice and actual exam, lage ko binibigay yung best ko sa Read Aloud kasi ito
yung first task and it will certainly define our momentum.
Binasa ko rin yung mga Read Aloud from these sources:

Repeat sentence –
• At the outset, frustrating talaga kasi 70% of the total # of words lang ang kaya kung e-
repeat kapag 12 to 16 words per sentence. Kaya talagang nag practice ako dito.
• While commuting, Repeat Sentence from youtube ang ginawa kung music…haha.
Tapos pa bulong kong inuulit each sentence.
• Ito yung approach ko:
1) Nakatingin ako dun sa time status (Beginning in 3-2-1 seconds) before mag start yung audio
2) Ginamit ko yung first 2 seconds to clear my mind and focus
3) Sa remaining 1 sec, ito yung anticipation mood ko, gusto kong ma feel talaga na may audio akong ina-abangan. Kasi when I am anticipating for something, mas alert yung mind and ears ko. Parang may feeling of eagerness kung ano kaya ang lalabas na audio.
4) While listening, gumagawa ako ng story, actions and characters in my mind based on the audio para mas maintindihan ko yung thought.
5) Kung mahaba yung sentence, wait for the first bar (progress bar) to appear bago mag salita. In this manner, you’ll have at least 1.5 second to recall the entire thought before speaking. Be mindful that the microphone will close after 3 seconds of silence.
6) If short sentence lang, mas madaling e repeat so do speak immediately kung yung status ay nasa – “Recording” na.
• Inubos ko lahat ng previous 4 months edition ng Repeat Sentence of CareerCoves PTE
on youtube. For example, if yung exam schedule ko is May, yung January to April
Edition yung pina practice ko. At yung May edition ay pina practice ko 2 weeks prior exam
schedule.
• 2 weeks before exam, read the list of Repeat Sentence examples dun sa “Free PTE-A
Exam Memories Material” of PTETutorials. Kahit yung previous month and current
month lang. In my case, May yung exam ko… so April and May lang yung binabasa ko.
• Kapag nabasa mo yung mga academic words ahead of time, mas madali mong ma
recall yun during Repeat Sentence task.
I focused on 2 resources only for Repeat Sentence:
