ah included na sa $184 yung CTP, pero meron pa ako separate na biniling TPL from AAMI for $19 every month at saka roadside assist na $12 per month. Baka iba-iba ang cost per state.

Sharing my experience on Driver's License Conversion:

Dumating ako dito sa SA, October 2013. Oumunta ako sa Services SA and sinabi nila allowed ako to drive for 3months and then take the online exam that will allow me to drive for a year with my Philippine Driver's License. Took the road rules online exam and passed. Binigyan ako ng certificate of attainment and nakalagay dun na I can drive for a year basta valid pa license ko and within that period kelangan ko na mag-vort.

Philippine License ko expiring June 2014

Took 3 driving lessons (1 hr each) with an aussie instructor para masanay sa road rules and driving on the left side of the road and right hand side driving. Sya rin nag-confirm ng sinabi ng Services SA. So I drove for a few months here while using my Phil. License.

Since expried na driver's license ko ng June, I called Services SA and hindi na nga ako pwede mag-drive mag-isa and need to secure a learner's permit then take the VORT test.

I enrolled for another 3hrs driving lessons before my VORT test using my learner's permit, and I still drove my car pero dapat may kasama ako sa car na meron'g full license (my partner and/or friends usually accompanied me then) nung sinabi ng instructor ko na ready nako, he booked me for a VORT test $224 including 1hr worth of review diving lessons before the actual vort test. Sa awa naman ni Lord pumasa kagad and binigyan ng certificate of attainment. The next day punta kagad ako Services SA to get my SA driver's license.

On buying a 2nd hand car:

I got my 2nd hand car from a co-worker. A Toyota Echo 2003 model. Good condition naman bought it for $2500. Sya nag-process ng transfer fees, pinirmahan ko lang yung blue document for the registration and less than an hour nakapangalan na saken ang car. I pay registration every quarter for $184 (dati $164 lang). Got a third party insurance -SGIC $19/month and RAA road side assistance $11/month.

Also, nakukuha ba yung certificate na yun in any LTO DL Renewal offices? Sabi rin kasi sa website ng LTO... sa Main Licensing Office pa daw sa QC in-issue yun... tama ba?

"Certification" nga lang title nung sa akin. hehe. pero di ko ginamit yung ganyan ko para sa australia. ginamit ko para sa malaysia before. abroad ka di ba? nakakakuha nun sa embassy e. sa ph embassy ko nakuha yung sa akin sa malaysia.

Hay ang LTO natin sa Pinas walang available card na pagpprintan ng lisensya, resibo lang binibigay... bulok talaga.

Expired lisensya ko, di ko alam kung paano ko magmamaneho at mag-aapply ng lisensya sa Oz pagdating ko dyan sa Feb, kung LTO receipt lang ng renewal ang meron ako

Meron ba dito ganyan din ang sitwasyon?

@wizardofOz I think I've read somewhere in this thread na same situation like yours na epired na ang license but still able to get AU license. He just brought his license along with the old receipts as proof and of course he did took the test.

About the card sa LTO, I think kahit reciept lang makuha mo eh okey na since you won't be needing it dahil you'll be in AU naman. Ayun hope this help!

@markbarquin thanks sa info.. baka ganun na nga lang din gawin ko.. saka kukuha din ako nung First Issue na certificate na iniissue ng LTO..

Plano ko kasi within few weeks of arrival sa Oz, makapagmaneho na ko gamit yung Pinas DL ko then i-maximize ko na yung 3 mos allowable... then saka ko apply ng Oz license.

I got my PH Drivers License last Oct .. and planning to convert it to SG - nabasa ko dito sa thread na dapat at least 1 year so I can convert my PH license to SG license.

planning to move to oz(victoria) on April, 2016.

ano po mas magandang gawin?.

a. PH to AU conversion?

b. PH to SG muna? (but need to wait at least a year para maconvert) - I'm a PR in SG (dko pa naman irerenounce), willing to come back to SG para lang maconvert ang PH to SG license. Then SG to AU.

@wizardofOz matanong ko lang, hindi ba overseas ka din nagwowork? Hindi ka nagpaconvert para mas madaling conversion na lang ang gagawin mo ulit? Most likely ganyan din gagawin ko. Enjoy the 2 months use of my old license then convert on the 3rd month. Sayang kasi gusto ko din sana mag motor kaso hindi included sa license ko yung class na yun, kung nasama ko na sana dati. Ngayun kelangan ko asikasuhin yun if I intend to ride one badass bike! hehehe

@MisterKehn I'm not sure about the conversion kasi based from what I understand is that you must be holding it for a year before you can convert and another thing is if it only applies for pass holders, baka kasi since you're a PR eh pwede niyo na iconvert kaagad. If your planning to move by April of this year eh try niyo na lang po siguro iconvert. Matanong ko lang po, why do you need to come back in SG just for the conversion eh by that time antagal niyo na po sa Oz which you will probably need an Oz license to be able to drive.

i suggest unahin mo pagkuha ng drivers license on your first month here. unless confident ka na papasa ka on your first take. madami na ako nameet na di agad nakakakuha license dahil di makapasa sa exam, including me 😃

@MisterKehn Hi, nagpa-convert din ako from PH license to SG license. Aside from passing BTT, kailangan ung PH driving license mo is first issued BEFORE you started working in Singapore. Hahanapin ung first stamp sa passport mo ng EP mo ng immigration. Ung first issue ng LTO license mo, malalaman mo sa 2 digit# sa DL# mo.

I passed my BTT, kaso ung PH DL ko 2012 pero I started working in SG from 2008. Actually 2nd license ko ito sa PH, kasi nawala ung 2005 ko and sabi ng LTO dati kumuha na lang ng bago ksi hassle pa mag-affidavit of loss etc. Sabi sa SG, kailangan ko raw nung document from LTO na nagpapatunay ng first issuance which is 2005 kaso hassle naman and walang time to go to LTO Quezon City. May waiting time ksi ung dahil ipapasa ung sa DFA for consularization and sa DFA mo claim ung doc.

Anyway, for you if Oct 2015 lang license mo, and if you started working in SG before Oct 2015, inde mako-convert license mo. You have to go through the normal process -> pass FTT exam and then practical driving exam. If may time ka, you can do that, you can learn via school or private. Mas mura ang private

Hi @femme_wolf.. tanong ko lang kung nasa Oz ka na ba ngayon? And anong state?

Required ba na "red ribbon" pa by DFA yung License Certificate?

Kumuha kasi ako ng License Certificate, pero hindi na ko nag-request ng DFA authentication kasi hindi naman sya binanggit na requirement sa NSW...

BTW yung LTO Certificate ang naka-indicate doon is "Holder of License Since: YEAR"....hindi sya yung "First Issue Date" as specified sa requirement ng NSW...

Although may binigay pa sakin na isa pang prinout yung LTO na screenshot nung Database nila, showing yung "First Issue Date"

@wizardofOz Bro! just got my AU full licence. Pinakita ko lang SG licence ko and Phil. Un lang. nagbayad ako 54 aud for 1 yr muna wla pa ko work kaya nde ko kinuha un 3 years. hehe.
