@Luis Cuntapay I'm still applying for AU visa. did a research, they said external audit field in AU is not that toxic compared sa pinas. though wala akong audit back ground sa pinas so I don't have first hand idea.

Mga sir, noob question lang. Ano po ba magandang gawin? Last year lang ako nakapasa ng board tapos gusto mag Australia. Okay lang ba na mag apply ako for membership tapos apply for visa agad?

Maganda din ang naidudulot ng CPAA membership kahit assoc pa lang. I was talking to finance director in one multinational company, he asked if i have other professional body affiliation other than CPA Philippines. So I mentioned about my being associate member of CPA Australia. He was impressed. Though i clearly pointed out that it was through mutual recognition, still it has given like an edge to those who dont have ASA. just sharing the benefits other than the monthly newsletter( i seldom open) hehe!

@batman Business administration po yung undergrad ko pero gusto ko po maging accountant by taking a masters degree in Australia. Sa Pinas kasi walang ganun, kailangan bachelors degree yung kunin. Ask ko lang po, if ever bumalik ako ng Pinas right after matapos yung course sa Australia, pwede po ba kong mag apply for membership sa PICPA, given na meron na tayong MPA with CPA Australia? Base sa alam ko, you will be an associate member agad ng CPA Australia once you finish masters degree course in accounting sa Australia. I'm not sure lang if pwede ka rin magpaqualify even as associate member pagdating sa PICPA.

@Ajit22 bakit need mo pa ng PICPA kong CPAA member ka na. yun na lng pursue mo. mas mabigat na qualification yun.

@batman Ganun po ba? Actually po kailangan ko kasi majustify na babalik ako sa Pinas after graduation from Australia para ma satisfy yung GTE requirement ng embassy sa student visa. So iniisip ko po kung possible mag work sa mga accounting firms dito kahit hindi ka member ng PICPA pero associate member ka ng CPA Australia kasi yun po yung gagamitin kong reason.

Hi @batman ... For Pathway 2 requirement na "hold a university degree recognised by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training as being at least equivalent to Australian bachelor degree level" , met na ba yun kapag nakalagay sa CPAA Migration assessment na Assessment Outcome -

Your Bachelor of Science in Accountancy is assessed as comparable to an Australian

Bachelor degree.?

If met na yun and PH CPA ka, need pa ba maging active member ng PICPA?

Hi @batman ... Just a random question here - Once you become an Associate member of CPA Australia via the MPA and di ka agad nakapag-enrol into the CPA Program or complete the required exams, are you required to pay the membership renewal fee for Associates after every year na mag-lapse? Also, any idea what's the difference between the membership renewal fees for Associate and Associate (on full rate)?

Not required to pay. Pero di k maka enroll if d k pay ng fee. Associate pede kc half or full pay mo in a Yr

Oooh. Noted on this one. So better pala to enroll into the program and complete the exams as early as possible if kakayanin once we got approval to be an Associate member of CPAA. Ang mahal nga lang ng fees per subject.

Yup mahal nasa 1k plus. Ang plan ko dati hanap employer na pede sagutin yung fee while working with them. Meron ganun. My current employer does. Pero plan ko CA. Kasi cpa namn na ako sa pinas.

i changed my mind and pursue CPA hehe! nag palit kasi ako ng employer sabi nya wala sya paki ano kunin ko. tapos ang CA my bridging course pa ang CPA professional year na agad kaya CPA na lang ako. both accepted naman.

Hi @batman magkano yung total costs to obtain CPA Australia? I'm a CPA sa pinas with 5 years of experience sa acctg firm. TIA.

aroudn $1,200 per module/subject. 6 subjects to complete. Yung akin kasi sagot ng employer ko kaya na rereimburse ko.
