To all 489 who's transitioning to 887 this year, congratulations! Let's consolidate our posts/sharing/experiences/advice on this thread.

Me and my partner will be fulfilling the requirements in the coming months and will be lodging our 887 soon. Here's our timeline.

Sep 2013 - 489 Granted (State Sponsored)

Dec 2013 - IED

May 2014 - Moved to Australia

Apr 2016 - Satisfy 1 year work fulltime

Jun 2016 - Intended date to lodge 887

Just migrated last October with a 489 visa, may question sana ako regarding 489 to 887 work conditions, need ba work related sa nomited skill or kahit anong work? Thanks.

@datuzero any work..even not related on nominated occupation...2 part time jobs that adds up to 35 per week can also be considered...pwede din not continuous

what if I study a one year conversion program to be an AU rn

is it possible for my relative to sponsor me since im already an AU rn - hes in darwin which is a designated area or rural

im also thinking of this provisional visa ---

do i need to work as a nurse for 2 year or any job will do ?

hi @markjohn if you're already a nurse, why not go for 189 or 190? hi @datuzero fgs is right, any occupation will do. the condition is to get a full time job and be on it for a year or cumulative full time job hours in a year.

still in the process of satisfying the one year full time job. sa april ko pa ma-fu-fullfil. good thing i'm on a full-time on going basis (but doesn't mean they can't make me redundant. lol). keeping my fingers crossed. good luck sa ating lahat!🙂

@markjohn if you study for a year here, and your program is a 'conversion' program, you may be able to register as a nurse after your studies. that's your ticket to a more permanent visa.

@filsgoz i see .. so even if it is just 1 year im still eligible for registration as a nurse ..

@filsgoz looks like we will be on the same boat. Will keep this thread open to share experiences during our preparation and transition. Sa March/April 2016 ko pa din ma fulfill ang one year full time. Hoping tuloy2 lang employment ko at present :-)

@markjohn you will have by then the qualification (which should be the registered bridging program/course), so you are eligible for registration. like when you graduate sa pinas ng bs nursing, then you are able to take the licensure exam to be registered.

YES @Isyut ! Halos sabay talaga tayo. haha. Kaka-miss ang eb sa Singapore. EB EB din tayo dito pag may time, and when you come over for a visit here in Victoria🙂

Hi @filsgoz, we are on the same track, yung sakin lang try ko na maglodge this coming May (I've been to Aus since Apr 2014 and immediately started working full time since). Sa palagay mo gano katagal ang processing times nila this year? Thank you.

@ajet02 Hi ajet! Congratulations! Excited for you and for us all! Yey! Would probably take 3 months cos at the moment, they've allocated applications from 15 Oct 2015. So, it kinda give us a 3 to 4 months processing period. I hope it gets faster soon!🙂

for 887 applicants or yung naka pag apply na for 887 visa, is it true na pwede yung cumulative hours as long as na meet mo yung minimum required hours ng full time work (35 hours x 52 weeks = 1,820 hours?

Sa mga mag-aapply na po ng 887 saan po kayo nakakuha ng full time job? I also have 489 visa and I am finding it hard to get a full time job being in a regional area.

@filsgoz Hi. Statistician po ako. Power industry work ko sa atin. I stayed in Mackay for 7 months and was not able to find a full time job puro part time job lang po na malayo sa work ko sa atin. I went back to Ph and seriously thinking now if I still want to go back to Aus.
