One Suggestion: Kung may SG Driver's license ka on your initial entry, ipa-convert/transfer mo na agad during your initial entry. Unless makabalik ka within 3 months of your initial entry to do the convertion. Most states will not allow convertion after 3 months of initial entry.

Kung wala ka pa SG driver's license but qualified ka naman mag convert from PH to SG license, I suggest you get your SGP Driver's license first.

Super newbiew here, baka lang sakaling may mabuting loob na willing mag share ng CDR for Production or Plant Engineer - ANZSCO 233513. Mag take palang ako ng IELTS next month. Lately lang nagkainterest na mag apply after my visit sa Sydney few weeks ago. At na encourage ako lalong mag apply after mag basabasa dito sa forum.

@sonsi_03 my two cents..

opt1 is ideal if you have about 70-90% chances of landing a good job. Sa ngayon dry ang paghahanap sa AU ng work, and they are looking for at least 1 yr local experience. Example ng 70-90% chances is pag employer mo sa SG meron AU office at pde ka apply thru them, or in demand skills mo na within 3 mos may tatangap na syo. kaya dapat may sufficient baon na pang worst case scenario kahit ikaw muna mauuna dun. Kagandahan ng opt1 is makkapagsettle ka na before your dependents goes there, not so difficult adjustments na lang for them.

sa opt2 naman mas oks esp. kung may work ka pa matino (at gusto mo, hehe) sa SG. dagdag baon din yun sasahurin mo pa and pde ka naman na maghanap work while in SG before the BIG move. Madali lang daw maregister ang mga needed registrations for new PRs kahit for short visit, even as short as your planned 5 days (this is based sa mga friends ko andun na).

bottomline, if you want to enjoy PRship sa AU pagdating dun, job ang mahalagang masecure mo muna. Lalo pa naka-190 ka, limited to SA work yun aapplyan mo. I'm sharing this kse may mga kakilala ako hirap maghanap ng work khit mganda work history nila, and palabas lahat ng pera while job hunting. Madali magdecide pag single, pero pag tulad natin may family na, eh mas ok maestablish muna yun tuloy na pasok ng income para happy ;-)

I think ang ibig sabihin nyan is, basta meron kang straight na 1year na nde lumabas ng AU in your entire 4 yrs dun, not necessarily na 4yrs dun na walang alisan.

e.g. 2yrs ka naka-457 visa, then you became PR either 189/190, then you have to wait for another 2 years to cover your required 4yrs in AU, kung saan yung 1 year and 3 mos of which is dapat nasa AU ka lang (eto yun sa stmt na not have been absent for 1yr and 90days in the present year before applying for citizenship). Siguro any AU citizen na here can validate this. hehe 🙂

You dont have to give up ung SG PR mo sir. Pwede syang sabay base sa current policy ng both countries. Just to share ung friend ko both SG PR eh nagmigrate din sa OZ ung hubby lang nag give ng PR while ung wife niya is still holding SG PR. Most of my friend na SG base na PR is hindi muna nag give ng SG PR nila. Nag settle down muna ng husto sa OZ before they give ung SG PR nila.

@sonsi_03 yes, initial entry palang po. kaso wala na akong masyadong leave kaya friday to monday lang ang schedule. sana enough na para asikasuhin ang kailangan sa centrelink and medicare. pwede na kayang asikasuhin yun kahit na ang current residence namin is SG pa rin? Pati nga rin pala yung TFN...

So again, if mag initial entry ka, and then next entry mo is under 4 years na lang PR mo (kunyari 3.5 yrs valid na lang), then pag nag expire yung visa, it's either you apply for PR again (which is another gastos) OR hindi ka na muna lalabas ng Australia until mapa-approve mo citizenship and fulfill the 4 years.

Though in the 4 years, tama naman din na pwede ka umuwi from time to time, basta not more than 1 full year na cumulative.

Pero the decision will still come from you kung kelan mo talaga gusto mag IE. Andito lang naman kami to give views on how we understand the process

Ganun na gagawin ko kasi 28 days yata processing nun, pero application mabilis lang kaya na 2 days niyan.

@sonsi_03 so centrelink at medicare are required for both primary & secondary applicants within sa IED na ibinigay nila?

@jellybean, i did not say "only 1yr and 3 mos", pls re-read my statement... I said "in your 4 years stay there", meaning yun 1yr and 3 mos is included na sa entire 4yrs whichever visa you're holding. Ni cite ko lang example yun 457visa plus resident visa to "emphasize" yun 4 years. Same din yun sa 4yrs ka na on either 189/190 visa. And I mentioned 1yr and 3 mos to explain yun understanding ko sa residency eligibility, which you can also check in AU Form 1300t Step 2 paragraph.

Sabi mo kase 4 years walang uwian, siguro hindi naman sila mahigpit na 4yrs walang uwian, basta yun last year ng stay mo is andun ka lang sa Au, which you termed as "cummulative".

@sonsi_03 advisable lang kumuha ng Sg license if meron na Ph license kase isa yun sa requirement. Since wala ka both, mukhang sa Au ka na kukuha nyan kase yun Ph license not eligible for au conversion. Maganda rin may Ph license ka as I know some most first world countries allows you to drive with foreign license for the first 3mos yata of your stay. Nagawa ko yun sa US, i guess same lang din sa Au (with some restrictions I suppose).
