Expenses for Immigration

Hello sa inyo. Tanong ko lang magkano po lahat ng expenses pag magaaply sa AU as immigrant. I read sa website ng AU Immigration na may initial na AUD3K then yun second payment is AUD4K something. I forgot the exact figure. Kelan po ba binabayaran yun first payment? Thanks 🙂

Skills Assessment - depende sa assessing authority.. from 450- 600aud
IELTS - appox 250aud (test fee only)
State Sponsorship (if required) - depende sa state.. approx 200-300aud
Visa application fee - 3060aud (per application, including secondary applicants)
you will only pay the 2nd payment, if secondary applicants cannot demonstrate functional english (these are enough: example ielts 4.5 or cert of english as medium of instruction for colllege)
Medical - approx 150 aud per person
Police Clearance - 5aud (200 pesos)

Thank you lock_code2004 for the breakdown of expenses. Visa application fee nga yun pinakamabigat pero at least hindi mandatory babayaran yun 2nd payment kun wala naman 2nd applicant kasama sa application. 🙂

kahit na po may secondary applicant na kasama...madali lang naman humingi ng certificate of english as medium of instruction from schools. so hindi naman kelangan bayaran talaga yung 2nd payment. 🙂

@hotshot - buti na lang. ang bigat na kasi masyado kun may 2nd payment pa sa Visa application fee. So kahit papano pwede na ang 3060aud. 🙂

tumaas na naman pala ang visa fee. nung nag-lodge ako nasa 2960AUD lng. oh well, ganun talaga. kasi before that alam ko nasa 2250AUD lng. tumataas nang tumataas.

I would call it Immigration Investment rather than Expense kasi pag may trabaho na kayo sa Australia, bawing bawi na kayo sa gastos hehe

Other than credit card, ano pa ba ang ibang mode of payment for you to be able to pay the 3060AUD visa application fee. Naisip ko kasi parang lugi ka sa conversion rate kasi mababa exchange rate ng mga local banks sa pnas. And also, kulang ang credit linit ko. 🙂

debit cards - but still you have to understand that this may have more or less the same conversion rate as these uses the same payment network (visa or mastercard)

Apart from points - at least ang credit card, you can have a few weeks before you can pay it... debit card kasi dapat may pondo! 🙂

@LokiJr - Yes, eto din ang naiisip kong way to request from the bank of your cc to increase your credit limit.

Honestly yan kasi balak ko e haha...I think BPI and BDO are very flexible with that. Nabanggit na sa dating thread yung mga banks na pumapayag ng ganun e...try ko hanapin 🙂

@eischied_21 you can also overpay your credit card bago mo gamitin sa DIAC. ganyan ginawa ko. so far ok naman, dami ko pang points for rewards,,hehe

@LokiJr - I tried to inquire with the bank and they can do that fo you but you have to submit documents like payslip, COE with salary.

@eischied_21 card limit ko is 100k, DIAC payment pag convert mo sa peso is nasa more than 130k, so I deposited 40k sa CC ko ilang araw bago ko gamitin. ayun, tinanggap naman ung transaction.

@eischied_21 i think pwede ata yun gawin. i remember years back an officemate of mine bought a new car hinulugan nya ng napakalaki ung credit card nya tapos ginamit nya un sa pagbili ng car to earn the points. it's still better to check with your bank though just to be sure as each bank has their own perks and rules obviously. citibank ung CC ng officemate ko.
