Hi @kenroy and everyone. Just wanted to share ano pinagdaanan ko.
Sa EOI I put myself as “never married” (hindi ko pa gets de facto noon) pero nag yes ako sa do you plan to bring family members in a future application (yes— si BF) then how many (1pax lang).
After being invited at mas naintindihan ko na yung de facto inupdate ko “status” ko upon lodging the 189 as de facto, ininclude ko na details ko sakaniya.
Pero of course madaming supporting documents to prove na matagal na kami and legitimate de facto partnership. Joint bank account, car, affidavit from parents living in their house for more than 1 year already, support statement for aus citizen and PH friends. Travel and social events attended together, apart from de facto statements of each partner.
Kinabahan din ako na “never married” which means “single” nilagay ko sa EOI and not de facto. Pero I think i weweigh pa din nila sa documents mo so we both got our 189 visas naman without a problem. Direct grant.
I know case to case basis pero hindi siya impossible kahit at point of invite ay “never married” nilagay ko. Pero best to update before you get an invite kasi malolock na siya after.
Mas maganda kasing isabay mo na ngayon dahil mas mura ung 189 visa for dependent 50% lang, tapos mas mahal at mas strict din sila sa requirements for partner visa. Parang dapat andoon ka na and kaya mo isupport financially partner mo for I think 2 years. Kaya baka kas matagal na mapasama kayo. Though in the end diskarte niyo yan. Ang advise ko lang and advise samin was try to add your partner now than later on pa. Baka magbago pa policy nila mahirap na. All the best!
