Visa Grant - Old Passport Number

Hello everyone! May konting ka-praningan lang po ako. Months before ma grant ang visa naming pamilya, nagpadala ako ng updates on changes in passport details. Sa visa grant letter, nakita ko po na old passport numbers namin ang nakalagay. Nag send ako ng inquiry email at eto po sagot sa akin ng CO:

"There will be no problem with presenting your new passport as long as you have the old one with you at the same time to reference."

Ok lang po ba ito? Dapat ba akong mangulit?

@migik22 primary & i had exactly the same situation. visas were released before the passport renewal. notified the CO of the new one. visas stamped on the new. it was fine as long as the old & the new are presented together to the immig officer. in fact, wala kami naging problema on both airports' immigration.

okay.. but do we still need to inform our CO/DIAC everytime we renew our passport?

or kailangan lang ito kung ayaw natin laging dalhin ang old passport (for reference) ?

@ kenkoy - how did you inform your CO that the visas be stamped to the new one? From his email to me, parang ok lang sa old passport na approve yung visa. Kukulitin ko ba siya o wag na?

@migik22 will u have ur passport stamped with a visa at the embassy? u've informed ur DIAC CO about ur details of the new passport, u're good to go. huwag mo ng kulitin. basta u should present ur passports, old & the new to the immig officers. alam na ung mga details mo sa immig sa AU airport. kung magpapa-stamp ka naman, syempre alam na yan ng embassy staff which of the 2 passport should have the visa stamped.

guys, i just got a new passport despite the fact my old passport wasn't actually expired yet but less than 6 months yung validity.

i called DIAC what to do as the passport number is already different. he advised me to fill up the form/ send a photocopy of the new passport and mail to the DIAC office my new details on the new passport. may form po sa site nila and the details will be changed after 2 weeks.

but since i am leaving in less than a week from now sa pinas when i got my new passport he advised that i go personally to the nearest DIAC office and kanina i went..over the counter lang may kunting pila pero ok lang mabilis lang.. showed them my old and my current passport. the lady in the counter scanned my new passport and changed my details.

she advised me na when i get home..go online to their website and go online through VEVO to check my visa status using my new passport number, my TRN (which is still the same from when i first applied) and that's it😃

@lock_code2004 oh no..im going home for a wedding lang. it's a super short. super rushed holiday! but wedding ng ate ko..and part ako sa entourage😃 so im going home talaga🙂

hello everyone! Just an update: pagkatapos kong kinulit-kulit ang mga tao through email, nag advise po sa akin na i send sa gsm.documents@immi.gov.au

Pagkaraan ng ilang araw, updated na sa VEVO! Yahoo!

Hello....san po sa WA pede mag renew ng passport? 9 months nalang validity ng passport q eh dpa ako nakapag initial entry. Ano po advise nyo, renew q na passport bago mag initial entry or after initial entry nalang. May 25 plan q mag initial entry.

Mas maganda mag renew kana ng passport bago mag initial entry.

@Phil_Sing_Au better to renew passport before ur IE & take note u need to update DIAC immediately of any circumstantial changes. good luck.

Just fill out a certain form (check DIAC website for it) and submit it to DIAC...

You can also address it your CO before, they should be able to help.
